1. But, but...we'd lose our IDENTITY! I'm happy to have a Geordie in charge and allow clubs like West Ham, Portsmouth & Aston Villa catch and then overtake us.[/HTT]
2. Must have learned quite a lot from Lee Bowyer in his time here. First he was sent-off last week for fighting with a team-mate...now he's been jailed for a nightclub brawl.
3. But they will loan fat, overweight & over-the-hill Scottish goalkeepers on loan.
4. Missed the boat...Mellor's just signed for Preston.
5. Even so, one stop-gap until January, another until June...let's be realistic, we can't afford to splash out on another permanent player, especially when that player in 12 months time will probably be warming the bench.
6. By the time Rossi goes back to Man U, Owen will only be a few months away from coming back. If anything, it's just buying a bit of time until that happens. I can't see anything wrong with this deal whatsoever. Who's to say there'll not be another one in tomorrow anyway?
7. He was sh*te last season, but the inital season where Birmingham took him on loan, he was excellent. To me this just as likely to go that way, than say a Carlton Cole to Charlton type thing. Worth the risk that's for sure. 188203 So you're accepting that we're now on a level playing field with the likes of Birmingham and Charlton are you? It's the backwards move in terms of ambition I have a real problem with. 188205 I remember at the time a lot of Newcastle fans wondering why we didn't go for him back then. What's changed from wanting a Chelsea outcast, to wanting a Man Utd one?

9. Forssell didn't do a bad job on loan from Chelsea to Birmingham, so don't see any reason why this can't be the same.
10. Yes, but it's ok as long as we don't get a rich takeover ourselves which will effect our local, proud heritage, even if it does win us a pot or two.
11. Anyone just see SSN before where they showed an interview with Niall Quinn from last year? He was talking about how one day Roy Keane will be looking for a club to give him a chance as a manager, Richard Keys then says, "Will he be a good manager...in one word"....Quinny replies, "Doubtful".
12. On loan I'd have him here in a flash.
13. Taylor right-back, Bridge left-back, Woodgate & Huth in the centre...for 6 games a season anyway. The other 30+ we're still slotting the likes of Moore, Bramble & Carr in to step in for injuries.
14. I love the fact people are saying because he hasn't made it in the English game he's a failure. Remind me who won both European finals last season comfortably against English clubs? He'll go back there eventually, win back his Spanish squad place and re-carve a successful career for himself.
15. People laughed at the time, but John Hartson for £500k would have been ideal for a year.
16. I see my long-term favourite Robert Earnshaw has started the season well at Norwich.
17. Also loved the line leading upto that. "Newcastle have already strengthened their defence this week with the sale of Jean-Alain Boumsong".
18. Jeff Stelling seemed pretty certain there that he's coming to Newcastle.
19. As with Ronaldo at Man U with their number 7 shirt after Best, Robson, Cantona & Beckham, could prove to be a great decision.
20. Feel sorry for Luque, just not his position. Ameobi in that team and we'd have had the game wrapped up.
