  1. Hearts = 2nd in Scottish Premier League Real Jaén = 6th in Spanish Division B - Group 4 St-Etienne = 8th in French Premier League
  2. Take your opinion and shove it. Canny strike though The one against Everton was an instinctive volley, the one against Chelsea involved him beating the man and then curling it around Cudicini from about 40 yards... Other class goals include Di Canio for West Ham, Bergkamp against us and Zola's against Norwich for Chelsea... Except it was Ambrosio. Still prefer Robert's second against Spurs which needed good control on the chest, a second touch to allow him a shot, and then sheer power.
  3. Liverpool looked nothing special. Will still be surprised if they finish anywhere near 2nd spot.
  4. To me, the fact we're still 10th despite that just shows how tight the league is. Take away Man U & Chelsea, and I think there's very little difference between about 10 other sides (Arsenal & Liverpool ahead but not by much).
  5. Everygame John Anderson criticises Babayaro way over the top. Blamed him for the first goal when in fact it was Duff's job to track the full-back. Bet Babayaro was twice the full-back Anderson was...an average Second Division full-back. Probably jealous.
  6. I'd say probably back as Newcastle Assistant Manager if Bond does resign as the Chronicle was hinting at tonight.
  7. What could they have done though if they had spotted the camera? Taken him round the back, killed him, and thrown him in the river?
  8. I knew I recognised that Harrison bloke from somewhere!! Anyone got the old Black & White videos? He was on one, with Philippe Albert helping him settle in the area as they were once team-mates at Charleroi.
  9. Nowt will happen, just like nowt happened after the Arsenal/Beveren programme from a few months ago.
  10. He was perfectly entitled to go for the ball I thought and both players were 'lunging' for the same ball. Completely different to 'doing' a player with a late two-footed tackle after the ball has gone, which should see straight reds, unlike this incident. Of course he's entitled to go for it, but the risk he makes is if he misses it, he's punished. Should be the same for any challenge. He ended up nowhere near the ball and has seriously injured a player. How many times do you see similar incidences where the striker is first to the ball, is brought down, penalty awarded and 'keeper sent-off? That's my view though.
  11. Accident maybe, but if Harewood had mistimed a tackle like that, two-footed in midfield on an outfield player, he'd have been off.
  12. And Crouch. Pretty certain we're the only club he's scored against for all 3 of his Premiership clubs.
  13. No coincidence at all. I'd say the centre-backs should be Moore and one from Taylor & Ramage (70-30 in Taylor's favour).
  14. "Sorry steward, I'll be more careful next time"
  15. Given Carr Babayaro Taylor Moore Duff N'Zogbia Parker Emre Ameobi Martins
  16. Can't understand 6 & 7 for Given. His kicking should bring him down to 4 or 5 last night. Shocking.
  17. And Huth be told, there weren't many decent centre-backs we could have signed. We should Neill down before Roeder for having the foresight not to panick and sign either of these.
  18. Ok, I suppose Shearer's arguable, but name me one other. Tino Asprilla.
  19. Was one man near that incident (where I was sitting), singing the whole Blaydon Races by himself. Got to the fourth verse and just said, "will someone give iz a hand?".
  20. Things will only change when the chairman and manager go. The only way we'll get better and challenge again is through a takeover.
  21. And just to think your old manager nearly paid £8m for him yourselves a year before he went to Rangers!
