  7. Rumours: El Hadji Diouf, who was spotted in Portsmouth almost eight hours ago driving like a loon, has just stopped in the drive through over the road from Fratton Park before going in to sign for the club. Jon Stead's at East Midlands airport. Lovemido has it on "pretty decent authority" that Arsenal will make a late move for Werder Bremen's Diego.
  8. 1752: DERBY buy/CELTIC sell What a moment. Two deals in a matter of minutes. Kenny Miller signs on the dotted line for an undisclosed fee and it is a three-year deal. The 27-year-old Scottish international is not eligible to play against Liverpool on Saturday because he did not sign before the Premier League's noon registration deadline.

  13. hes a good player...well played well in the ACN
  14. Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce wants funds to buy Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson. (The Sun) just what i said and just what we need
  15. SAM Allardyce will hand full debuts to Cacapa and Jose Enrique as well as first starts of the season to Michael Owen and Shola Ameobi for Wednesday's Carling Cup clash with Barnsley. Enrique has yet to feature since his switch from Villarreal this summer, while Cacapa has made two appearances from the substitutes' bench. Owen and Ameobi both picked up slight knocks during pre-season and are only just returning to full fitness, while Turkish star Emre is another player who could get his first outing of the campaign after recovering from the ankle injury he picked up towards the end of last season. And Big Sam has confirmed that he is set to ring the changes as the Magpies kick-off their quest for cup silverware against the Tykes. "Apart from the injuries to Stephen Carr and Peter Ramage we had a few other knocks from our trip to Middlesbrough which we will have to look at during the next couple of days," said the Toon gaffer. "But I am looking to play Michael Owen and Shola Ameobi up front, and Emre is back in training so he could come into it as well. "Cacapa is now ready but he cannot really play at right-back, so he will go in as a central defender." And the United boss is fully aware that this competition could represent the Geordies' best chance of bringing to an end the Magpies' 38-year wait for a trophy. "We will be picking a team which we feel will be capable of winning our Carling Cup tie, but it is very important our players are up to that capability," he added. "The Carling Cup is a bit low-key at this stage of the season but we are still looking on it as a very important competition. "I always feel the first hurdle can be the most difficult because it's the opposing team's cup final and we will go out and try to be very positive on Wednesdsay night."
  16. how do i uninstall this add-on its annoying lol...its not in my add/remove programs
  17. CHARLES N'Zogbia says he is loving life at Newcastle United after firing his second goal of the season in Sunday's Tyne-Tees derby. The French star has been in red hot form in the opening games of the new campaign and has arguably been the Magpies star performer as they remain unbeaten after three matches. And, as N'Zogbia told Newcastle World TV in an exclusive interview after the game, he is more than happy to play in the new defensive role asked of him by Big Sam. "It's a new position for me because usually I play left-midfield or in the centre but the manager has asked me to play left-back," said the 21-year-old. "Last year was not a good year for me and if I play at the back it's not a problem because I am happy to play and be on the pitch." N'Zogbia opened the scoring against Boro with a delightful, right-footed curler which found its way into Mark Schwarzer's top corner, and the former Le Harve youngster has set his sights on more goals in black and white colours. "I've tried to take my chance and I'm happy it's gone in with my right-foot, hopefully I can continue to do more and to score more goals," he added. "It was disappointing to lose the lead so soon after scoring both our goals and that was not good for us. "We have to win games like that when we have the lead and it was disappointing not to get the three points. "But we are unbeaten so far and that is good because it gives you confidence for the next game." And N'Zogbia, who had been the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from Gallowgate during the summer, went on to state his happiness with life on Tyneside. "I'm enjoying it in Newcastle. My friends are here and my sister and girlfriend are here and Newcastle is a great city and I'm very happy."
  18. Sam Allardyce admits he could face a hectic time in the closing stages of the transfer window. The Newcastle manager saw two of his defenders, Stephen Carr and Peter Ramage, collect injuries in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough and Allardyce could be looking to bring in cover. Carr limped out of the first-half with a hamstring problem, while Ramage, who replaced Carr, was stretchered off after landing awkwardly on his knee during a challenge with Mido and is believed to have sustained ligament damage. Allardyce has previously stated that his squad was lacking defensive strength in depth and the new injury problems may now make new signings a priority. "Stephen Carr has a hamstring injury and Peter Ramage looks more serious," Allardyce told Newcastle's official website. "I'll have to be busy next week to cover that." Glen Johnson, anyone?
  19. Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson has hit out at Mark Viduka and Yakubu Aiyegbeni saying the club are well shot of the pair. Viduka made his first return to Middlesbrough on Sunday scoring for new club Newcastle in the 2-2 draw at The Riverside. The Australian international accused Middlesbrough of not doing enough to keep him after he left the club on a free transfer in the summer. However, Gibson has blasted Viduka and revealed he felt 'tainted' by Viduka's wage demands fearing his new contract could have financially damaged the club. "We spoke to him and his agent last Christmas and I was told very early that it was about money and that Mark would go to the highest bidder," said Gibson. "The wages went up by many millions and I felt almost tainted by it. "I felt so uncomfortable that it was almost a relief when he went to Newcastle because of the sums involved. "A four or five-year deal with players today can be a risk of £25million, decisions have to be precise and detailed. "Mark Viduka is 32 on his next birthday and he was asking for a three-year contract and asking for a figure which, over a year, would equate to over half of our gate income. He averaged eight goals a season in the Premier League. He turned down a fantastic offer and we move on." Gibson also believes Middlesbrough have done the right thing in selling Yakubu to Everton claiming the Nigerian "switched off halfway through last season and we still don't know why". Meanwhile, Boro boss Gareth Southgate has hit out at Newcastle fans for the taunts aimed at Mido during Sunday's game. Mido was booked for making a gesture to the Newcastle fans after scoring and Southgate was unhappy at the nature of the abuse aimed at the Egyptian international. "It's OK for 3,000 to abuse one person. But when the boot is on the other foot, he gets punished," said Southgate. "In terms of civil liberties, I find that very strange. After scoring the goal, we had to calm him down a bit."
