  6. Paul Gascoigne has revealed he is training with Newcastle's youth Academy as part of his bid to beat alcohol addiction. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News, the former Newcastle and England star explained how he is keeping fit by playing with the club's youngsters and was full of praise for the impact Sam Allardyce has had at St James' Park. He said: "I've been going and training with the Academy and I've really enjoyed it. I've done my own gym work, but it's nice to kick the ball about. That's what I love doing. "I still wish I could put my boots on now and again, but I think the old bones and all the injuries are starting to take their toll. "I think Sam Allardyce did great at Bolton for what he had and he's brought some good staff with him. "He's making changes at Newcastle and I know that he's put top-class equipment in for the guys and he's definitely going to be given money." However, Gazza is less impressed with England's efforts to qualify for Euro 2008 and reckons the team were made to pay for defending too deep in the 2-1 defeat to Russia earlier this month. "I can't understand how we're in the position that we are and I'm sure the lads were really, really disappointed with that result against Russia," he added. "If you keep defending for so long, then the other team are definitely going to create chances and that's what happened. I could see it coming. "If they keep defending in their own 18-yard box then teams like Russia can destroy you." But Gascoigne is not sure whether Steve McClaren should be forced to step down as England boss if the team fails to qualify because he has built a strong camaraderie within the squad. He said: "I remember watching England train when Sven-Goran Eriksson was manager and Steve McClaren took the training session and looked comfortable around them. "The players seem to like him and he won't walk away from the job. I think he loves the job."

  12. how? I am on 4th season, looked in the Man Utd reserves and seen Nani listed for loan, put a 5m bid in (his value) and they decided to negotiate and put it up to 8.25m, made a bid and got him, but he wont accept a contract until he got what he asked for (16k) appearance fee. Hargreaves had been whining all season long for not getting enough games, so i put a 6.75 bid in and they accepted, deal went all well, they should be with me for January and its December the 15th now Edit: Fuck sake me computer restarted and the game crashed, iv got Nani but i cant fucking sign Hargreaves anymore, fucking wankkkk!!!

  15. Joey Barton insists he does not expect to be thrust into Newcastle United's starting XI after his return to full fitness. The abrasive midfielder finally made his Magpies bow after suffering a metatarsal injury in pre-season when he came on for the final 19 minutes of Monday night's 3-1 Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur. But Barton, signed for £5.8million from Manchester City in the summer, accepts that with the Magpies having enjoyed back-to-back victories he will have no complaints if manager Sam Allardyce elects to stick with a winning formula. Saturday's trip to Reading is next on the agenda for the Toon Army and Barton would prefer to see the team claim all three points over his own personal ambitions. He told Sky Sports News: "Obviously, it's a winning side and it's going to be tough to get into a winning side. "I think it's important that we keep winning. It's not about Joey Barton, it's about Newcastle United Football Club, and if I have to bide my time for four, five, six games and the team is winning, then so be it. "I won't be frustrated, I'll sit there and wait for the opportunity, and if the team goes unbeaten all season, then I'll be very unlucky! I'll just have to take it on the chin. "Football these days is a squad game and I'm part of a squad here. "It's very important for me to be part of a successful squad and if that means me sitting on the bench when the team's winning, then so be it."
