  1. Rules of Good Grooming by Warsaw Confederation Sounds like a big old prog album that i'd actually buy!
  2. As people have said Keegan was being replaced again, also that Keegan was gutted to lose Mort his "only allie left at the club" and i read in one paper that Ashley was selling us for i think the 50th time since he took over, so don't worry they still obsessively hate us and want to stir up as much shite as ever...whilst at the same time telling us we aren't important and don't matter of course!
  3. Cantona is always the one they bang on about winning the title for Manu, and i'm not saying he did nowt! But Scmiechel saved them so many points on numerous occasions and when we played them off the park at St. James he was the sole reason we didnt give them the hammering we should have. Best keeper i've ever seen by a good distance. As for signings we should have made, when keegan bought Asprilla he should have got Zola (and i think he'd have been cheaper) or Bergkamp, those two players scored and made shitloads of goals and delivered week in week out, Asprilla was entertaining to watch sometimes, but outside of europe delivered little in the prem.
  4. Some of series three is absolute genius (just look at my sig) but they stopped at the right time. They had to re-edit the last episode, it (and Father Ted itself) was going to end with Ted topping himself alongside that depressed priest played by Tommy Tiernan. Wouldn't have been very sensitive so they replaced that scene with a montage. Alot of people didnt realise they'd already decided to end it whilst he was still alive and had said at best they might have been tempted into either 1 or 2 specials. As for Peep Show i think it can take another series after this one and still produce enough quality, but it could well be that it should end with the 6th series.
  5. He's definitely yet to fullfill the potential i think he has, but he has pace and can make things happen and we have few players like that as it is, so i would really want him to stay. I'm not saying pace is everything, but its vital to have some in your team and its something we tend to lack, and hitting teams on the break is something all the top sides can do quickly and effectively.
  6. Yep, it's all part and parcel of the modern game. I'm far too lazy to look back and check my typing which is often appalling! For some reason one of my hands must type faster than the other so letters end up out of synch!
  7. Expected, but it was a good move by Keegan. At the time things weren't going well and at any time we could have been hit with injuries so he got cover in for free (wages apart) with no need to keep the guy on after the season ended unless he'd looked pretty special in tarinign etc. and gave Keegan soemthing to think about.
  8. Since its so rare to hear Zog come out with any comments let alone positive ones, i think if he has then there is a very good chance he does want to stay and i think Keegan will get the best out of him. The deciding factor will be who if anyone comes in for him as the size/stature of potential buyers could change matters, but i think its likely he'll still be here next season.
  9. I'm just waiting to see which paper will be the first to say Keegan didn't know about or doesn't want Taylor and that its war at NUFC again and everyone hates each other etc. etc. fill in your own bullshit!
  10. Definitely something in that, alot of people who are at a club will like to think of themselves as in the know and young footballers (if there anything like alot of the dicks we see in the prem) will no doubt love people hanging on their every word and acting like they're the big man. Whereas some youth footballer will actually know bugger all about what the chairman, owner and manager discuss when they're together in meetings and half if not all of what these kids are coming out with will be based on the same shit stirring bollocks being writtend in the press.
  11. Time will tell, If I could tell you his name it would add a lot more credibility to the story but I'm afraid I can't. Something`s up, that`s for sure. London Mike does not seem happy and him wanting a London is not that bizarre. Today Liverpool have been linked with both Milner and Zog.................who would you guys rather see leave? In terms of ability and potential i'd much rather have Zog stay, but if he wants to leave he won't play well and will have to go. Milner has a top class attitude, even when the club completely fucked him about and he's a model professional, but as a winger he lacks the pace required and can't cross accurately enough. I'd be happy for both to stay though, providing Zog wants to and will give it everything under what could be the perfect manager for him if he gets back on track attitude wise.
  12. thats what they are telling us, or have us believe. So what has the last week been about then ? This idea of bringing in potential youngsters, how many do you think will make the grade and be top players ? The current trophy winning clubs aren't exactly packed out with their own products are they ? We've also tried the same ourselves, its nothing new. The last week has been as usual about the media writing any old shite about NUFC and trying to stir up as much trouble as humanly possible and as usual its worked on alot of people. The only facts are that Keegan was backed with millions to go for Woodgate and Modric, even the media are agreed with the club that we went for them and he was given the money. Thats basically over £20m for just 2 players, thefore i am fully expecting him to be given this and alot more to buy players in when he finds ones who will agree to sign for us. They turned us down because of where the previous regime left us, ie. lower midtable medocrity, out of europe and totally unattractive to potential star players. Thanks to Fat Fred, Souness, Roeder and Allardyce's efforts Keegan has a hell of a job to talk the better players round to his vision of where he wants us to go. Alot of youngsters don't make it i agree with that, but Wenger and Arsenal have shown how it can work, their mistake is not augmenting it with proven experienced players. And manu have had years of using their own products to win trophies, its only now that the last of them (Giggs, Scholes, Neville etc.) are comeing towards the end. Plus comparing us to the top 4 at the moment isn't really that relevant as they have year after year of CL money, exposure and asuccess to attract players we can only dream of. They can go out and buy almost any player in the world they want, they have the cash, the reputation, the success and the CL football on offer the top players want. We don't, so its completely the right way to go to try and search the world for young potential and also a few hidden gems that you can pick up cheap, as well as obviosuly spalshing the cash when required, as they tried to with Woody and Modric. And also i didnt just say youngsters, i said cheap signings as well, deals like Blackburn managed with McCarthy and Santa Cruz, this is what we can finally hope to do down the line now the new regime has actually put in place proper scouting teams and people who's main/only job is to identify the best talent out there and give the manager this info to go and get the players. I understand this, but it just seems to be the current hype phrase and outlook. I'm saying its unrealistic. Its also been tried before. Its also being used by many other clubs who aren't successful. So it guarantees nothing. I also say that the longer we are out of the top 4 teams, the further we will fall behind. Like it or not, my take on this is that the ambition - or the footballing awareness - isn't there. Which completely ties in with the thread that wacky has just started. A lot of what has came out of the club in the past 10 months or so has pointed towards this direction. As I've also said, I'm clinging to the hope that this isn't the case purely because Keegan hasn't pissed off. I agree it doesn't guarnetee anything, but we are bigger than all these clubs (ie the blackburns of the world) that do manage this trick of snapping up bargain players and so my belief is we should looking to combine that, plus scouting for young players with the big money investment on proven players we both agree is needed as well! We'll all know where they're aiming by the time the next season kicks off, for now though i am very happy with the scouting and backroom side of things as this club was a complete joke in that area for most of my time watching the toon and i have some optimism about that. The actual big spending on proven first team players as of yet we don't know how much, but i don't listen to the media as 99% of what they say is bollocks and if they do get something right its probably a flukey guess! So far they were willing to lash out on Woody and Modric so i am not at this moment in time worried, if come the start of the season we havent backed the manager then i'll be of your opinion that they arent dealing with the short term need as well as the long term.
  13. I wouldnt be worried about any of that, not having a go at your mate either by the way! 1. If he sees it purely as a business, and i dont think he does (hence how much he enjoys getting the shirt on, going to the match and hanging out with tha fans all the time) the best way to make money is the CL, trophies and sustained success, not pinning your hopes on young players eventually coming through, doing great and becoming saleable assets 2. These are young players at the club, i don't see them having any idea of what KK and the board get up to and talk about as they will likely conduct their meetings in private not for example in the young lads changing rooms or on the pitch where they play! And KK, Mort et al aren't the sort who are going to be having great big screaming arguments in full view of the young lads even if they were arguing...which they won't be IMO! 3. If we believe the media and countless other sources Ahsley is given the chance to sell us on an almost weekly basis, yet he hasn't, and somehow i expect he won't this time either 4. If he was he'd have offered Modric less wages than Spurs not more 5. Could be true, but you don't need to be ITK to know Zog wants to leave!

  15. We've offered serious millions for Woodgate and Modric, even offering betterw ages than SPurs, AND the people running the club want to instigate actual sensible, long term planning to stop us pissing away millions like we have in the past, what's the problem! If come the start of next season and Keegan has been given nowt to spend, then i'd have a go at them, as it stands they seem ready to back him with money when required and have provided a structure and team to set us down the path of identifyign young and cheap signings who will hopefully go on to be star players.
  16. I don't know about specific players but Keegan will/should be looking for a proven centreback with experience and preferably a leader. A left back to cover/challenge Enrique, probably a younger RB to cover Beye. A creative, skillfull player in the middle, maybe another winger and a striker. Also depending on who he shifts out they really need replacing as well imo as our squad isnt that big really. And we need to do what Bobby once did and take advantage of the fact we aren't in europe with loads of extra midweek fixtures but our rivals for 5th/6th will be.
  17. I would have loved Campbell here when we should have went for him and Roeder fucked up signing the sort of player we desperately needed, but now i worry he'd be too old, with not too long left and at risk of being injured to often, the sort of reasons Roeder wrongly used back then when they weren't true!
  18. Arsenal and/or Wenger have always played a risky game in never spending those extra millions on big, proven experienced signings to compliment the talented youngsters when the going gets tough. Its why i usually back against them winning titles and trophies because some teams will always push them around and bully them out of it and other times they'll fanny about looking for a perfect goal whilst the other team actually gets on with scoring. Great to watch but the likes of manu and Chelsea will be sitting there with the trophies.
  19. Its best for him and the club if he moves on as clearly Keegan will not be using him much and i think he could well fall below Carroll quite quickly in the pecking order. Stoke are in the prem for 1 season anyway, so if he doesnt really fancy it there he should use it to get himself something better if he thinks he can.
  20. I don't see much wrong in what KK and Mort are saying really. They're both saying we can't crack the top 4 yet, and we can't, everyone is a good distance from that and since they're in the CL every year they get ever richer and more attractive to the best players. Below that Keegan will have us back challenging for 5th with Spurs, Everton and possibly Villa and seeing how that goes he'll have a bloody go at the top 4 whether he or can't quite manage it, time will tell. The owner/chairman have shown with the bid for Modric they will spend, its not their fault he chose less money from Spurs. So the people on here (well person) slating them and praising Fat Fred, seem to forget firstly Ashley cleared the debt and it was easy for Fatty to back the managers when he was building up debt and secondly the reason Spurs were more attractive than us are down to Fat Fred's managerial choices turning us into a lower midtable team with no place in europe. I wish he hadn't but i think Modric can be applauded if he did turn down more money to go where he thinks he'll do better at this point in time. But if anyone can talk people into his vision its Keegan, and lets hope he pulls a big singing out of nowhere like he used to and gets the ball rolling.
  21. I'm pretty sure he can't hold back/held back for very long periods. Let the hilarity ensue. There was a doc last year where they were in his office and he opened one of his desk draws and you clearly hear him say to himself.."Not that draw"....Clearly full of porn and booze. As i said earlier in this thread, not being from or living in London myself it'll be great to watch Boris from a distance! What's funny is he's basically ended up in this position of power because he appeared on and hosted Have I Got News For You and became a sort of cult figure from there!
  22. There was an interview in one of the free London rags the other day where he said that his kids are Newcastle fans "for some reason" and that Obafemi Martins is an extremely popular figure in the Johnson household. Whereupon he started chanting "OB-A-FEM-I, OB-A-FEM-I", apparently. Now c'mon, at least he could have given us a rendition of "21 or 28"... Hadn't heard that before, even more reason for Boris to win! I find nearly all politicians to be useless, lying, corrupt arseholes but he at least is entertaining so he has that over most of the others and as i don't live in London i can be amused from afar if he gets in, so like Paul and Ian on Have I Got News For You i say Vote Boris!

I always thought the best, and most simple solution to RICO is for everyone on here to put him on ignore then he'll be talking to himself and getting none of the attention he wants. Also he must be the worst WUM/troll on the net as he seems to get extremely mad himself all the time which defeats the purpose of what he's supposed to be doing!
  24. Just guessing, but i think ultimately Keegan will switch back to a 4-4-2 for next season when he has the players he wants in to do that system. However i think this season will have shown Keegan that he can operate another system when the situation calls for it, and so we may see 4-3-3 used as well as the more traditional 4-4-2 if he thinks its the best for a certain game, or maybe see him switch during games from one to the other.
  25. Barton was no better than Geremi/ Geremi was no worse than Barton, to be fair. Geremi is a strange one, his corners are abysmal and today his passing was shocking, yet he looks as though he'll set up a goal a game, usually for Owen! I think overall since returned to the team under KK he has done a job for us, and has been involved in alot of goals, but some body has got to take the corners off him and obviously next season we need a better player to replace him in the team.
