So is Islam the new black then! For the thread itself i am and always have been an atheist, just seemed the only intelligent option to me. My parents did what i think all good parents should and left the decision completely up to me, were willing to answer any questions i had on the subject and provide any books or anything if i wanted but never forced any of their beliefs or views on me and were happy with whatever i decided upon. Is utter bollocks tbf. Its a decision I mulled over for some time. I had an arguement in my head for getting him christened and for letting him decide himself. Fact is, you can change your religion. So thye can do what they want when older anyway. Just like on here with many christened but not practicing. Religious or not, christened or not, its how your parents parent that makes them good at it, fuck all to do with getting kids christened or not. I think most parents would say that they would leave the choice up to their kids when they are old enough to make an informed choice. That applies to those christened (to any religion) and those not christened at all. I certainly wouldnt label either "the only intelligent choice". Its very much a personal decision to each family. I am though againt people getting kids christened for the sake of a piss up and a few sausage rolls. I did say seemed the only intelligent option to me, i do know intelligent people who are religious, they're not mutually exclusive! I agree, how parents parent will dictate how good a person the child is, religious or not, i wasn't saying otherwise, just don't agree with parents forcing their religious beliefs on very young kids as whilst they can change later it isn't giving them a fair choice when really young, as they will take what their parents say as fact, why wouldn't you! And i was actually christened, it just seemed the done thing then even if you were'nt religious at all, just a chance ofr friends and family to get together and celebrate the new birth i guess and tradition. But from then my parents left everything to me in terms of religion.

Probably for the best as it won't cost the club as much as going to tribunal, and its a blatant admission by them that he's right and they're wrong, or they'd never need to settle. But i do kind of expect come the summer when we "just miss out" on some big targets that they'll say we fell short of funds by the amount KK recieved in a pay off!

Fuck. Pompey looked like slot ins for the tricky 3rd relegation spot. I'm getting sick of the number of teams at the bottom getting shot of managers (or them leaving in Keane's case) and their fortunes turning roound! As for Man Shitty, i know they beat the smogs, but that aside they're not doing us any favours beating us then losing to Stoke and Pompey! Considering the cash they've spent in the last 2-3 years they're absolutely shocking!

I'm sure it'll be back as i think they added it back onto series 7 after initially showing it without, though it was actual audience laughter not canned, they shot some in front of a studio audience and the rest that couldn't be, was shot and then shown to audiences for their reactions.

Those 3 and Stoke massive favourites now, followed by us i'd say, until we can do enough to move ourselves out of it. Wst Brom look doomed even if of late they picked up a bit, Stoke are struggling and picked up a suspension and injury against the mackems i think. And Pompey plus smogs are in absolute freefall. Forgot about Bolton mind, they could drop into serious trouble as well. I'd love the media favourites Spurs to be out of the prem it would be hlarious with the plyers they have, but they'll create and score enough to scrape by i supect. Only chance of them going down is if the teams at the bottom have games against them, rough them up and beat them. Not difficult tbf. Imagine if they hadn't got Keane back? Indeed, and what Benitez was thinking i don't know. If Torres and Gerrard are out for any length of time does he really think he has enough goalscorers there to win the prem or CL when it matters!

Don't think Villa have been lucky, they have just shown clubs outside the "Big 4" exactly how you do it. Sensible chairman who brings in a proven manager, back him where needed with money but no interference and lets him get on with the job. Unlike Fat Fred you don't hear Learner mouthing off in the press/media and making his club look stupid, or making farcial choices for manager like Souness and Roeder. And unlike Ashley you don't see Learner bringing in annoying little fuckitts over the managers head and forcing the man the club needs to leave and then selling players and not investing in replacements. I think Learner and O'Neil deserve a massive amount of credit and one of Chelsea/Arse are going to miss out being in the CL places this year i think.

Martins will be vital, without his pace in attack and on the break we often offer nothing and whoever is playing up with him will benefit as will any midfielders looking for a different option to pass to. And assuming he gets back for a few games this season Owen will still have a big say in what happens to us.

If they were serious then it would have been a part of the Given deal, a deal which is also a fucking joke as he should have gone for £10m at the very least to City. They're either complete retards who do a deal with City for Given then wait a bit and then bid for Johnson or they're lyign bastards who at no time expected it to be accepted...wonder which one it is!
-
Agree with all that...but also a phenominal player who often wins matches for Liverpool on his own. Shame he's more often than not piss poor for England as the Liverpool Gerrard would grace any international team.
-
I don't know like, if some player i didnt like from another team had done that i'd be happy for them to suffer it being shown time and time again, it was funny! But some of his defending on those clips was scary stuff!
-
I don't get why some people don't rate him. In his time in the prem for by and large average or poor sides (Charlton and Spurs) he averages about 1 in 2 as far as i know, the sort of strikerate anybody should be happy with.
-
I think its a given that if we do pull out a surprise signing it will be of that kind! Mind you i'd take a Sibierski if it was in additon to some actual serious signings!
-
At least his allround play seems neat and tidy with some intelligence to it, he can link up play quite well. Can also win his share in the air and he's scored a couple of goals which helps. No idea if he'll be good enough long term, but he's earned the chance to stay in the team and hopefully partner a returning Martins sooner rather than later.
-
I can imagine his hands twitching towards some brown paper bags of cash, ready to send off to anyone concerned!
-
Throw a few lies in there as well to get them worried. Say the rumours are that after West Ham got away with all the shit they got up to, that they are really going to hammer the next club who does anything and won'tl et them off to prove a point. Stuff like that!
-
Going to be hard when you consider of the top of my head: Little time left Who will want to come here who is good Will Ashley release much at all for fees and/or wages Our only chance really is if they have got 1 or 2 deals genuinely somewhere down the line with a good chance of happening, or they manage to pull off something good last minute. At the very least maybe sneak in a loan or something, we need anything we can get!
-
That is what I think. It maybe crossed his mind for a split second, but that was enough. Either way it was class. Simple finish or even easier short pass to Jones for a sitter, and he looks up, measures it and hoofs the ball way past Jones

Hmm, club from the all important London, media darlings...yeah that's really going to happen!
-
Personally i don't think he did anything on purpose and i don't think he even really bottled it, but its driving that bunch of sad bastards mad so i'm all for saying he meant it! I think the best you could go for is that in a split second he had the tiniest thought of, shit i could beat my home team here and maybe put them down and it just threw him off a fraction and the chance was gone, you never know!
-
Agree. And all I've got to say on top of that is Taylor is shit and Bassong is class. Great penalty by Shola as well btw It does my head in when thick bastard managers play people out of position when there is no need. Duff can barely manage his own left wing position these days, but he certainly can never play right wing. So Kinnear essentially sent out two big men up front with no pace and allied that with 2 wingers on the wrong side to offer no corsses...genius!

I have no problem with any decent player here wanting out, from top to bottom the club is a fucking joke, being run into the ground and nobody has any idea from one moment to the nect what is going to happen. Why would any top player want to stay here with all that shit. And i don't think he went to City particularly for money, he's earned shitloads in his tme here to set him for life, he just sees a club that is miles ahead of us now and went when they came in for him. If the club was secure finacially and being run properly, in a decent league position with some prospect for the future then yes i'd be annoyed with him, but as it stands i wouldn't expect anyone other than a geordie to feel the need to stick it here under Ashley. If we have sold him for £6m then the club are yet again a fucking joke, this is man city and we should have accepted nothing less than £10m for a keeper who is better than those mentioned on here going for £9m

I havent seen the pen, but i actualyl thought Webb wasn't bad, but i agree that when he'd played a good advantage, to not go back and book him for that challenge, was shocking. I'm guessing its because he was one of the 3 mackems already on a yellow.
-
I'd have really liked to see half an hour of his pace in attack as they were really there for the taking, hopefully he will have a big part to play for us this season.
