  1. The shame is that the management (such as it is) will go straight back to Harper for the next game (injury permitting) and not bring Krul in again if Harper is fit. I don't think Harper is bad at all, in fact i used to rate him quite highly but in his run of games last season he strugled and he's looked less impressive as time goes on. Krul looks the better shot stopper already, but also looks like he will dominate the area better (with the odd mistake obviously) and his distribution will have to be quicker and more accurate!
  2. Fuck me, when did that gobshite release a book? Safe to assume that will be an tissue of absolute lies. I think i read somewhere that its his book from ages ago but with a section about his time here stuck on the end and re-released
  3. Nevermind now, I was struggling to be ineterested in the prem while we were in it last few years, its got steadilly worse for us, and in its standard in general outside the top 4. Plus the players become ever more annoying as a bunch of people with their embarassing antics on and off the ptich yet recieve more and more money for it.
  4. I don't think O'Leary is the end of the world like some people do, he's better than sticking with 2 coaches who the players know aren't the real boss and he's a damn site better than Kinnear. My problem is that if Ashley went for him or somebody like him as a fulltime manager when he knows the fans and players want Shearer (of the realistic options) and with Big Al making it clear he wants the job, it would be proof that he is deliberately looking to get at the fans and is an even bigger cunt than i thought!
  5. Exactly, putting him and Shola together is clueless, but what you'd expect at this club. I think he has a good touch as well, and an awareness to bring team mates into the game and he could definitely do a job at this level, but pair him with a faster, more mobile striker to let him do his job alongside them.
  6. Yeah its not just Krul's saves, its also the fact he looks like he'll command his area and makes his mind up straightaway, also i think his distribution will be better than Harpers and it will certainly be alot quicker!
  7. The good thing about Smith was that whilst it was fullblooded tackling there was still control and discipline, not conceding a string of freekicks with wild challenges. Smith did the job admirably of winning the ball in midfield and a few times in defence and using it sensibly and was involved in the few decent moves we strung together.
  8. Utter waste of space as usual, and constantly offside. Gutted Carroll came off, he was one of our best players. Wouldn't mind seeing Smith get a game up front in this league. Annoying by the result really with the way it went. Moronic substitutions. It really does get seriously infuriating that years down the line Ameobi is still paying no attention and lumbering about being caught offside all the time, not arsed about watching the defensive line. And when he isn't offside he's giving away pointless freekicks for fouling defenders.
  9. Yeah, Smith can't be faulted today and if he were paired in the middle with a footballer instead of a giant stone monolith called Kevin Nolan he could do a job for us, but he's on his own in there. Carroll is doing ok and again, paired with a faster more mobile striker he can do a job for us, but him and Shola is clueless management, we need some pace and movement up front. And like you say if Jonas had a final ball we'd be laughing today as he's had about 5 chances to set up a goal thing is as KD said who is in there for him to cross too? no movement noone coming from deep Yeah, i agree its not all his fault, if you get to the box and see nee fucker bothering to get in there its hard to set up a goal! He did waste a few chances to create, but lets be honest his performance still puts him ahead of most of the team!

  11. Its identical to last season, can't do anything with possession, no ideas, shit set pieces and can't defend set pieces. And once the goal is conceded its time to collapse and complete fall to bits.
  12. I don't know all the finacial rules and regulations, but to me i just see this £9m disappearing and certainly not going on any players to replace Martins. Had we been taken over by now this would be an excellent deal, shift his wages off the bill and free up some funds to buy players with, but i'm now far too pessimistic about anything that happens under the fat cunt ashley to believe this means a takeover is about to happen.
  13. Don't get me started on the levels of fuckwittery at channel 4 on programming - they completely messed up Babylon 5 first time around - not showing it for weeks, sometimes out of order and then showed the final 5 eps of a meticulously plotted arc which had been building for 5 years at 9:30am as part of "the bigger breakfast" one xmas holidays - complete with the bigger breakfast logo on the screen and moronic voiceovers around all the ad breaks. I honestly came the closest I ever have to contemplating murder which says something as I harbour a lot of dark thoughts as a rule. Another shout out goes to Andi Peters who some fuckwit gave a job to at channel 4 and he proceeded to buy Angel and thinking it was just like Buffy scheduled it a 6pm hacked to ribbons. Cunts the lot of them. PS I forgot how much they messed around with The West Wing as well showing they haven't improved. So it was him then! Its amazing how people struggle with the concept of a programme that needs to be on after 9pm so they stick it on at 6pm and take half of it out! Mind the BBC did the same with Buffy at 6pm, editting alot out back in the day. If you can't show a programme as it is then its not on at the right time.
  14. http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/pr/fr/-/1/hi/engl...ide/8170819.stm Nothing surprises me about that place. I phoned Skybet a few month ago to give me odds on a Merseyside based player to be burgled in the next 3 months, I was hoping for a good 4/1 maybe, bloke come back "we're not prepared to give you offers on that", basically N/O, they no they'd lose money. See what odds you can get on a merseyside player NOT being burgled in the next 3 months, you might fancy sticking a tenner on at something like 1000-1
  15. Could never narrow down my all time favourites to just 6, so will think of what i'm currently watching: 30 Rock Flight of the Conchords Big Bang Theory Psychoville Curb Your Enthusiasm And endless repeats on Dave!

    Loyalty

This is one of the things that really got to me. I'd got to the point where i'd accepted relegation and started thinking, you know what with Shearer and Dowie sorting the cub out from top to bottom and having the full suppost of us fans, with some of the crap shifted and some younger, hungrier players identified by Big Al coming in alongside the better players we kept we could have a season where we won games, scored goald and did well, remember those days! A quick promotion ending up with a better squad than we went down with and a hcance to quickly build again with more money and Ashley the cunt wrecked all of that and plunged us into a state i never imagined possible, i really do hope something fucking horrible happens to him!

Even though i'm still going next season and will do probably til i die, i feel the same way. I'm sick to death of the whole thing from top to bottom and at times am seriously pissed off that i have to go to the match when i have other things i'd much rather be doing. Then you remember that not only are you giving up time to go to the match and be depressed, enraged and sickened, but your paying arseholes for the privalege! And as Alex says in the past when it was abd you thought, better was just round the corner, or it'll all turn out fine in the end. Now we know fine well that if this mess continues then at best we're stuck in the championship for a while falling further and further behind the prem teams, at worst we become like Leeds and drop further with massive finacial troubles, or we end up imploding and facing point dedutions and more!
  18. I'm pretty certain the buyers have walked away bar one (FS 60m). We may or may not ever find out exactly whats been going on, but i think that's quite likely, that Ashley has turned down bids trying to hold out for totally unrealistic figures and in the end Fat Fred is left and the 2 of them play a game of chicken to see who bottles it first!
  19. To get their P45's, no doubt They're just being brought in as we announce Howard Wilkinson is taking over as manager after his 3-2 win at St James' last night, you heard it here first! I suppose he'd be an improvement on Hughton. How bad is it that i actually think thats easilly true! The idea of starting the season with Hughton/Calderwood and whatever players are left is something you just can't believe, and yet with this club you kind of can believe it!

  21. Class! I remember many years ago i used to always watch his show called "Politically Incorrect" which was always good value, same idea of having a go at celebs and news stories with 3 or famous people as his guests arguing about the topics, i'm guessing that he's doing much the same there.
  22. Great effort from Freddie, when he's on that kind of form he's unstopable and will be a massive miss when we play the best, in other series we can get by without him, but for the likes of the Aussies, you want Flintoff firing away. I just suspected that once he said he'd be retiring after this series that he would go out in style, and so far he's on course for that!
  23. I thought Hilfenhaus should definitely have had more overs, he was taken out of the attack way too early. I don't understand why Ponting took him off and persisted with Mitchell Johnson. Johnson absolutely wasted an opportunity with the second new ball. Anyway a draw is a decent enough result. I don't blame England for time wasting. They are absolutely outclassed in every facet of the game. Let them send out a fat bastard of a physio to waste time. Seeing him waddle on then off with his boobs jiggling about was probably the highlight of the test match for me, besides the 4 centuries made. I really can't see England winning any of the next 4 matches. They offer nothing. They get their hopes up by beating a bunch of part timers from the Caribbean and think they're in with a chance against Australia. The best they can hope for are 4 draws. Who knows, we may see that fat bastard waddling onto the ground again eh? And England will once again celebrate a draw as if it were a win. Any team would have celebrated a draw under the circumstances, a bit like you lot did in 2005. I'd think anyone with a bit of a clue wouldn't celebrate like it was a win though. Not saying we deserved much out of the game but I think you arrogance is a bit misplaced since Monty Panesar (one of the biggest 'rabbits' in test cricket) looked like he could have batted all day against your average attack. And how is a draw a 'decent enough result' for a team who 'outclassed' us 'in every facet of the game'? Many people celebrated the result as if it were a win. Perhaps this is why England are inferior; they don't expect to win against Australia and rightly so. And Alex, tell me one area that England were better in... England, I believe are second rate, despite Australia's current lack of a game killer. What have they really got to offer in the next 4 games? Onions?!? Who the fuck is Onions... you'll need potatoes, shitakes and rice plus more and more carbs before you get even close. "Egg and my face, were in allignment!" You'd think after 2005 he'd learn to wait a bit before coming up with this kind of shit!
  24. All the bowlers contributing is great news, its what we had in 2005, bowling as a unit which they've done this match.
  25. Yeah, a friend of mine was saying Ashley will probably wait till as late as possible, flog everyone possible, pocket the money and leave no time to buy any new players! Probably take the toilet paper with him as well. I think his real parting shot is to leave us with that away strip, that has to be the work of somebody who hates us!
