The thing that disappointed me was the set piece delivery was back to last seasons standards of scuffed to the near post or overhit beyond everyone, which is a shame because this season we've caused havoc from freekicks. We started both halves well then faded a bit, but were alot better second half than first i'd say and as people have said the officials were poor, though i think thats the first one this season who has been bad. Obviously there was the pen but the linesman on the milburn side of the pitch managed to miss a total of 5 or 6 blatant handballs by them and 1 by us, he just refused point blank to bother his arse and make a single decision other than offside all match. Also for all we didnt concede its clear our best back four is Enrique, Taylor, Colo and Simpson, there were some dodgy moments today.

Is this with an aim to buying the club outright, or say joining together with say Moat if he's a serious bidder meaning together there would be more financial power behind the group?

Despite the various "fans reject KK" shite that Im reading today. Exactly. I'm not normally one for singing about people who are gone, its pointless by an large, and you should back the ones who are here. But in amongst the anti Ashley/Wise chants i want to hear, i'd also like some pro Keegan stuff to tell the cockney journalists to shove the bollocks they write up their arses and that real toon fans still back Keegan for everythign he did for us.

See this saves all the pages of arguing with people like him by condensing it all into a simple phrase which applies perfectly! I love the fact his whole argument was based on it not being the tribunal that said the club were liars but that Keegan said it! Does he really need it explained to him that if any of it weren't true, the second Keegan said it, fat fuck ashley and his team of lawyers would be suing KK for every penny he's worth. But funnilly enough when KK revealled them to be lying scumbags, the club didn't have a comment to make, and thats because (as all of us with a brain know) its true.

I'm a big fan of Enrique and delighted he wasn't one of the players we sold, but the goal was mostly down to him this time, and his one fault is that occasional daft ball he'll play into trouble rather than hoof it out. I think we could still have maybe defended it a bit better after he hit the clearance, but he was the chief culprit for that goal.

We missed R Taylors set piece delivery (amazingly) cos guthrie had a mare - agree about harewood and i like Zurab, very composed, Routledge was really good for them and i thought they were a good side aided by the fact that they could run rings around our midfield with their pace Yeah, i would always have Guthrie in my starting lineup and i think he has a good set piece delivery alot of the time, but he had a shocker tonight! And like you say we had too slow a midfield to cope with their pace in that area.

Disappointing not to win and really take advantage of other teams slipping up, but at least we fought back for the point. I thought QPR were the best footballing side we've played to be fair, perhaps not the best finishers though, which i'm happy about. Hughton got the starting line-up completely wrong, never start a home match with 2 defensive midfielders and no pace or width and that could have cost us badly. But, unlike pretty much any other toon manager he seems able to admit to a mistake and change it, so he took Butt off at halftime to get some much needed width and then he made another change after 15 mins instead of waiting till its too late like other managers here would. So i wish he hadn't made the mistake in the first place, but fair play on trying to rectify it. Much as i like Butt, his attitude and professionalism etc i don't see any real point in playing him ever at home, and away only in the absence of Smith. Harewood looks lively and will be a good addition for the 3 months he's here.

Quelle surprise. That place makes me sick. The link i have to there is dead and i'm not bothering to change that fact as anything i read on their related to Keegan defies belief, i actually can't believe they can call themselves toon fans and say those things about him.

I think Carrol can play with any of the striking options, acting as the big target man because the others for me aren't out and out target men themsleves. As people have said Ranger looks good in other ways and with a goal will be much more likely to be shooting when he gets a chance. And Shola has never been a target man as he cannot use his height and strength well at all, but playing off Carroll as the main striker in this division we all saw how well he was going. And Harewood has a bit of pace and power but differnt to Carroll so i think that would work too. To be honest looking at the division so far i think we could play any of those in any combination and do fine, we've played Nolan as a second striker and done well already.

If we'd had a serious bid for him Ashley would have sold him like a shot, so either there weren't any bids or there were stupidly low bids that even ashley wouldn't accept. I'm glad there wasn't though as Taylor, Enrique and increasingly Colocini plus whoever is playing RB have been a big part of our flying start and long may it continue.

I've always thought he was a bit underrated as when he's given a chance and a run of games he scores goals at premiership level. Charlton were hardly world beaters and i think he was about 1 in 2 for them, so i wasn't surprised at all he's doing well now, which is a shame!

Be interesting to see what happens to the mackems when Bent gets injured, without his goals they have very little
-
Picked up an injury this week, short term one but on his efforts so far he won't be missed, and if he's out for the midweek game hopefully it will give Guthrie a chance to play and show once more why he should be ahead of Barton in the team.
-
Yeah, been a fan of both series and watched it from the start when it appeared, but doesn't seem to be a comedy alot of people remember and is very underrated for me. Its never really obvious one liners or gags but loads of laughs from the characters and their interractions, very well cast as well.

Same here, i've never bothered with second teams or foreign teams, but when you watch a team like Barca playing the sort of football i want to see at its best you have to admire it.

Radio Newcastle 95.4 bud You get to many of their games like well, the lengths I go too to watch a toon player! mainly the U19 tournament on Eurosport over the summer! Plays LM, CM and STR doesnt he? Thought upfront was his prefered role? I’ve only seen him play the LM/CM role, seems a strong box to box player, reminded me of Gary Speed but bigger. For Slovenia U19s, he was one of the few players who didn’t give the ball away unnecessarily and was more physical then the others even though he was 2-3 years younger. Confident enough to take shots from outside the box. Looks ‘a player’ without being a fancy dan. Think i read an interview with him and he sees himself as an attacking and goal scoring midfielder but also happy playing off a striker up front, and it sounds like potentially he will have the ability to play both those roles. Where could i find this article fella? God knows!! I think it was a while back so won't be around to view now, and was from the newsnow website where they link to any and every toon related story and i just glanced through it, but i'm pretty sure he said he was a midfielder who expected himself to score a good few goals and also thought he could play up with a striker. -

Now thats the exactly the kind of line-up i wanted to see. Rest and protect the senior players from injury for the important league matches, at the same time give the kids some mucyh needed game time for experience because they're sure as hell going to be called on at times this season and i'd rather they had a game or two under their belts. I think he was always going to keep one senior defender in their to hold them together and with Colo carrying a knock it was going to be Taylor, Lovenkrands needs games to get fit and i expected Guthrie to play because for some reason he's seen as second choice behind Barton so was likely to feature in this match! -

I want most of our key players rested for this and the kids given a game. I'd possibly play one of Colo or Taylor for a bit of experience at CB, and maybe Raylor at RB, but rest one of our CB's and Enrique, because if he gets injured we have no senior LB. Lovenkrands and Butt need the game time to get match fit and Barton should play for me as he wouldnt be in my first choice lineup at all on current form and maybe this might get him going. I'd prob go with: -------------------------Krul Raylor------Taylor/Colo---Kadar----------Tozer Lovenkrands------Barton-----Butt--------Lua Lua ------------Ranger--------Vukic Other option would be Geremi on the right and Lovenkrands given a run out up front instead of Vukic if we wanted a bit more experience, but i'm happy to chuck the kids in myself. -
Can only go on the performances and efforts so far and its clearly Smith-Guthrie as Barton has been mostly crap and doesn't deserve to be ahead of Guthrie at all. Maybe in top form Barton would oust Guthrie but we've seen nothing from him so far, whereas Guthrie has scored a couple of crackign goals and looked likely to create chances whenever he plays, and Smith is crucial to the way we're playing away from home.

Yeah, its a disgrace that yet again they've won a game long after the ref had to blow the whistle, but at least its funny its happened to an ex manu player. I've seen the odd interview with some of the ex players who are now managers and suddenly they see the bias and realise how shitty it is when you're on the wrong end, having previously denied it ever happened when they were at old trafford. You see the same with players who leave manu and at their new club still think they'll get every decision and can berrate refs as much as they like and are surprised to find at other clubs you don't get it all your own way.

I was quite lucky, saw us win the corner as i was climbing the stand and saw the goal from my seat, but there must have been a load of people who missed the first goal
-
Yeah, where i was there were massive queues everywhere and we were going very slowly until they finally opened up 26 which had been closed. And even then it took till about 3:03 before the police started telling people to use the 2 turnstiles nearby (23 and 24 i think) that were prctically empty.

Fair play to Hughton today as he got the starting line up wrong, but when they equalised he acted quickly, changed it and got the win instead of the usual NUFC manager's trick of doing fuck all till the last few mins when its too late. But we should have started at home with 2 out and out strikers and Guthrie should be in the team before Geremi and Barton, he's a better footballer and has a couple of lovely goals and looks like he'll create goals as well. Overall today, not a great performance, but job done which is what we needed after a defeat. I think Colocini might have even been man of the match, looked composed and solid to me, i'd need to see their goal again to see if he was to blame in any way but i think he had an impressive game.
-
I don't know anything about him to be honest, but a big centre halve on loan was a must and hopefully he'll do a good job as cover at this level. Still want a fullback and most importantly another striker to follow, and ideally i'd want a winger as well, but i think the striker will be Hughton's priority.
