Same here, they deserved the name "Dirty Leeds" and deserved to miss out on the number of trophies they shouldhave won because they were an awful, dirty bunch of bastards with a complete cunt for a manager. They could play great football so there was no need for the entire team to be the way they were which meant any admiritation you had for their football went out the indow because they were such a disgrace. Cloughy had them right and of course made a point of tellimg them all when he took over as boss, which they didn't like! Other teams would have their hard man/hard men (or thugs, depending on your view) and their footballers, Revie and Leeds decided to have a team full of pricks and deserve any stick they get.

I can't believe anyone would even consider a parade, it would be embarassing. Celebrating geting back to where we should never have been relegated from if run properly and when we go up it will be to a level below the last time we were there! I was definitely in favour for the Keegan promotion season, he'd taken a club on its arse, transformed it out of sight and we were flyign up to the prem in style and full of confidence for the future, but this time a walk round the pitch last home game of the season is more than enough.

Good to know our promotion has got all the sad little hacks wet with excitement again, they're lost without us to be honest, usually devoting whole columns to point out how unimportant we are! I love the geordie nation stuff, i have still to this day never heard one single native of Newcastle ever use this phrase, the only people who do use it are journalists and maybe the likes of Fat Fred, but never fans. You have to give the little worm credit though for finding a way to criticise our attendances which have blown everyone out of the water and which won't ever be beaten in this division. That's quite a comittment to being a sad, bitter little prick he's managed, he should get himself on the mackems messageboard he'd be a legend!

Best of the planet right now and since he's so young and seems pretty sensible and level headed he could go on to be the greatest of all time. Like people have said he needs to dominate a world cup the way Maradona did, but he's the palyer above any other i'd want to see play for my team.

It was always embarassing them pretending to be Labour when they clearly aren't, they just knew where the power was going to be and kissed Labour's arse like the spineless dicks they are until they saw a chance the tories might be back and could return to being what they really are. Whether i agree or disagree with a particular papers politics at least you can say some of them have the courage of their convictions and remain true to what they are whoever is in power. Even more embarassing is how the sun mistakes everyone knowing change is coming and them falling in behind it with them instigating it and being behind who gets elected! And, lets not forget, Blair kissed Murdoch's arse. Big style. He did, and probably gave him a reach around at the same time!

Well I'd love us to be signing someone who is pushing for top scorrer but I'm fully aware that won't happen. But I think we need to look for better than Fletcher since we're going to be no great shakes either so I wouldn't expect us to be laying them on a plate for him. I agree 15+ goal scorer will cost a hell of a lot (something I've already said) but that's what we need imo if we're going to move away from the threat of relegation. Agree about a goalscorer. Whilst we all know we need the midfield overhauling you need a proven scorer to compete and at the moment we don't have that. Shola has proven he isn't good enough in the prem and his injury record is pretty poor Carroll and Ranger are totally unproven at prem level Best is unproven at championship level! Lovenkrands will be a good player to have in the squad i think but we should have somebody better as first choice So we're pinning our hopes on unproven players stepping straight up to premiership standard if we don't buy somebody, and that will cost serious money. Very true. Although Carroll didn't do too badly on a few occasions last season when he had the chance. I'm definitely somebody who thinks Carroll has a chance of making it, not a world beater but a good target man for our new signing (hopefully!) to play off and chip in with some goals himself. But i wouldn't want to be pinning my hopes of him to be the main man and it wouldn't be fair on him to be stuck with that either.

Leyton Orient wasn't it? I think it might have been, but it probably wasn't the only one! And that may have been the thread where somebody actually said we were obsessed with them on page 20 of a thread about our pre-season match, with no hint of irony!!

I'm kind of heading towards that view as well to be honest, we are going up, i fully expect us to beat Sheff utd. so it would be good to do it with the win, rather than already be up, but either way will do! It swings both ways dont it? I mean if Forest wins it puts pressure on us to do a job. But then again if we are promoted before kick off then the lads can go out and relax and put a show on for us. I think we would win by a higher margin if we already were promoted. But i like you two would want us to do it on our own merit. Yeah, and with NUFC you never know quite what we'll do anyway! But you're right, theres a good chance if we're already up that we come out and put on a show, scoring a good few goals and everyone partying!

It's clear as day the majority of them are fucking seething we haven't sank like a stone There seems to be total denial on their part that they could ever be a bit arrogant or big headed. I've met my fair share of obnoxious, totally out of touch Mackems so I honestly don't know where they get this idea they're dignified and even handed. It pains them to admit it but they're just the same as us. The forum is a great laugh though, it revolves around NUFC, our fans and everything that happens to us! I've seen threads about us reaching scary numbers of pages and the number of threads about us at times is unbelievable, yet they'll actually without any trace of sarcasm say we're obsessed with them! We'll give them a brief mention every now and then and an occasional thread like this based on laughing at stuff they're saying about us, but that's it. I love how posters on there just make up some story about what a mag did, or said or how some mags at work always say/do this and then all the little kids on there have a wankfest about how deluded, arrogant and thick we all are based on stuff the original poster made up! But it makes them happy and since they clearly don't care about their own club mutch, its nice that they have us there to give them something worth being intereseted in. And since they'll probably read this, just to let them know, we are bigger than them, always have been and always will be, even when we're a division below, and whats more deep down they know it! But that's obviously just me being a typical deluded, arrogant mag (their favourite catchphrase!) They do touch on comedy gold at times and I think even the majority of people on RTG know that most of said threads don't have much basis in reality. "My father in law is a Mag and he says they're going to win the World Cup! LOL! How deluded!" And as you say the number of threads about us is staggering. I can remember when we went out of the UEFA Cup to Marseille and the first half a dozen pages were nothing but threads taking the piss while almost every poster made Drogba as their avatar. I have never seen anything like that on here or on N-O. That said I don't think RTG is a good barometer of the opinions of match going Sunderland supporters. Nowadays it's made up of kids and middle aged blokes that spend their Saturdays sitting in their two up, two down in Hylton while watching Soccer Saturday so it's no surprise that we dominate their thoughts. The Marseille one reached levels i couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams, there was about two pages of threads devoted to us, the score, our players, drogba, our fans and the match thread for OUR game into the hundreds for pages! Then again i've seen them reach into the 30's of pages for a match thread on one of our pre-season friendlies!! To be fair you have to admire that level of devotion to NUFC, i mean on here we'd struggle to make that many pages on one of our own friendlies!

Yeah, he's missed the odd one, but he looks dominant, he's a big guy and he lets attackers and defenders know he's coming for it and aims to get it! It would be very harsh on Harper, but if we're promoted after tonight i really think he should give Krul the rest of this seasons games. Harper deserves to play in the game we go up in, he's certainly earned that reward, but once achieved, give Krul the last 4 or 5 games, see what he does. He could easilly want to leave pre-season if a good enough club comes in, but give him these few games and say to him, you're in with a fair shot at starting next season, show us what you can do and he'll be encouraged to stay.

Its a tough one for me. Harper is as good as he'll get and whilst he's a good shot stopper he doesn't command his box, coem off his line enough and his kicking and urgency aren't good enough. But i do think he's had an excellent season at this level with just a couple of mistakes here and there and has deserved to be number one. With Krull you see a big dominating keeper (potentially) who when he's palyed has looked like he could be top notch, but is as of yet unproven for a run of games and would be a slight gamble to start with. Then there's Forster who some seem to think is even better than Krull and who is doing the business with Norwich week in and week out. I tend towards the gamble myself and if he's done well pre-season go with Krull and start him as no.1 but i think Hughton will go Harper and i can understand him doing that.

It's not just minor cunts. I think it's almost everyone apart from the big three of Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea. I had no idea the depth of Leeds' hatred towards us till recently. Surely some of this hatred is derived from insecurity and jealousy? Pretty much all insecurity, since as they all continually remind us we've won fuck all for decades! And like you said its hilarious how much of their time and effort people will go to to tell us that they don't care about us, and genuinely be too thick to see the irony in it! I've never given a shit about other fans views of us, positive or negative but i'm getting and added little bonus from promotion knowing how many sad little bastards are gutted that we're heading back where we "deludedly" think we belong! They all wanted us to become Leeds mark 2, well tough shit we haven't!
-
He usually just blocks their view or obstructs them on corners, but last nights was a good laugh mirroring everything the keeper did and showed the fact the players are havign fun in what they're doing and without coming out and saying it knew they were as good as promoted so pretty relaxed!

Agree with that, our squad is still weak and losing our better players from it is the last thing we want. Taylor has been dodgy in the prem in the past as we know, but the latter part of the relegation season he was playing well and he has been in good form this season (admittedly in the championship) so i'd give him another shot in the prem with hopefully a more stable and less chaotic season ahead! Also i'm not one of the people who massively hates him for the clapping the fans and banging on about loving the club etc. maybe he is a bit over the top but i do think he gives everything when on the pitch. As for Carroll he is showing some potential and has added more goals to his game at this level and i wouldn't want to lose him either especially when you know it means Shola, Best etc taking his place And like you say, if we do sell them clubs will know its because of the fallout and they will be looking to get them on the cheap because of this, whilst who knows what standard of replacement Hughton will be after/be able to attract.
-
A friend told me about him saying that and i obviously thought the guy is an absolute prick and i'd happilly see him sent to prison for a good arse raping so he feels even a fraction of the suffering the kids go through. I did also think though, you can't fault his honesty as most of them would cover it up or not tell the cops but they wouldn't admit to it like this cockend did.

I've always thought Jamie Pollock had the best OG, beating one man before heading it past his keeper!

Better way to look at it, has Routledge performed as good as (and added enough value to the starting team overall) as N'Zogbia did when he played for us? Compare how N'Zogbia played on average for us. Head down, running into players, giving possession away was his trademark. I'd argue we've seen more from Routledge at times, we're not comparing potential or ability but contributions. I was a fan of Zog and as has been said we've got to see Routledge do the business in the prem. But i like what i've seen from him, not just his pace and willingnness to run at defenders and try and get crosses in, but already he has played i would say about 10 lovely through balls, timed perfectly for strikers that i haven't seen consistently from a toon player in a long time. He obviously needs consistency and in the past there must be reasons why he's ended up at QPR in the championship instead of the prem, but i think he'll be a good player for us next season who will get assists and goals.
-
Some good football second half, another goal for Carroll and Enrique a class apart throughout the match in defence and attack. A draw away is never the end of the world especially if its a good comeback and we were close to snatching it towards the end. Best was quite unlucky, yes ideally you'd want the header to have been a bit to either side but i think it was a decent effort from him, shame as it would have given him a massive lift getting a winner there.
-
Not wanting to give footballers the sort of easy excuse they always look for, but i agree, its been a terrible place to play for a long time till this season and i suspect alot of players weren't going to show their best form here.

The reason you're in the pro-Ashley camp suddenly becomes clearer.... Relegation and promotion have been part of this club long before and will be long after Ashley. This is the world of football. Surely your not one of the god complex fans who think we have a divine right to be in the prem and challenging for Europe every season? We dont, as nice as it would be, we dont. I expect useless tabloids to make up this shit but not toon fans. There aren't any with god complexes who think we have a divine right to anything, we expect the club to be run well and with the massive resources we had available to be able to comfortably stay in the prem and to be looking to challenege for europe every season because with what we had financically that isn't hard if you're well run. Having to go through relegation and the whole season that caused it wasn't in any way exciting and those of us there every game suffering it, don't ever want to go through it again.
