Soham killer Huntley to sue over throat slash attack
Papa Lazaru replied to Craig's topic in General Chat
You were being superior, maybe not smug to be fair! You said "it's beyond reason..." ie. those you disagree with have no reason/are thinck or ignorant and you said "what the fuck is wrong with you guys", not exactly a compliment. Surely you could have just stated you're against it because you think its barbaric etc. and not suggested people who think otherwise are idoiots? I take your second point which is reasonable, though i just feel its slightly different the other way round (though i may be wrong), in that people are saying what he did is so horrific he doesn't deserve to live, you don't need to have suffered it to feel that way, but if you say he should live and be let out eventually (as some people would want, i don't know about your views on release here) then i think maybe its best left to the family who've gone through it to say he should live. And your last point, yeah, probably! -

Yeah i think the whole of society hinges completely on whether we decide to end the life of a child rapist/murderer or not, against eventually letting him out or spending millions to keep him there. And if you read the thread i haven't actually said myself whether he should be killed or not, i said people shouldn't be so smug and superior because they want him to live against people who don't, and that if they actually went through it they might think differently. then enlighten us dear boy, enlighten us to your views.............. and you are well aware that letting anything by (such as killing rapists in jail) is a slippery slope Where have i said it wasn't? I would be delighted they had been killed and applaud the guy who did it, but would then have to see him on trial for their murder because that's the law. -

I'm sure you took the minutes.... they were kind enough to take my advice............... but seriously - are you an eye for an eye merchant?? Or do you believe in the law, justice and due process?? Here comes the straw man! Everybody on here on either side of the argument agrees with law, justice and due process as you know fine well, the difference comes with certain offences once the law and due process has convicted an individual. Some people want them dead, others don't, so don't bring in bullshit that to want him dead means you want to do away with the law and justice. -

Dig a fuck-off big pit and chuck the likes of him, Roy Whiting, Peter Sutcliffe, Ian Brady, Rose West, etc into it and leave a few hungry tethered wild animals at the top. Let nature sort it out Exactly, that's certainly a creative way of dealing with it. I really despise lefty fuckwits who spout their holier than thou bullshit, I mean just how would they feel towards such people if for example one of these murderers had raped and tortured one of their family members prior to slowly killing them? Who gives a flying fuck if a murderer can change? They deserve to die for their crimes, simple as that. Exactly. I might listen to that sort of stuff if its coming from the families of the kids who've been raped and murdered, they've gone through just about the worst thing imaginable and if they say they don't want the guy put to death, then fair play to them. But as you said, some smug, holier than thou type telling everyone they're basically arseholes for wanting a child raping murderer dead can shut up until its happened to their family and they really understand it. -
This is NUFC, it'll be due to injury without doubt

Even Barton has managed not to beat up women in his list of offences! Wouldn't touch King with a bargepole, and even if he'd never been in trouble i wouldn't want him as he's not good enough.
-
Totally in favour of a ban, they're incredibly annoying and destroy any atmosphere completely. We want a real atmosphere generated by singing/chanting not a bunch of monotone horns droning away non stop.

do you think signing Cole was instrumental in keeping ManU ahead of us ? Personally, I don't. I know he was a good signing for them, but the changes Keegan made to Newcastle got them closer, which was the whole point ? I appreciate your point, but would ManU have just signed someone else of a high calibre ? I just think the main difference between them and us in 1995/96 was they had experience of the pressure in both the playing and managerial departments. The only player we had was Beardsley, arguably you could say selling Venison was a mistake too, I certainly think so. Tend to agree, for all i wouldn't have sold him to manu, as you say KK ultimately did what he set out to after the sale and made us better overall, and but for a tiny bit of luck etc would have got us the title and who'd have cared about the sale then.
-
I think i read at the time of the injury in the chronicle that its the other arm this time.
-
Have to say i have doubts about it as well, firstly that Cole and Clark were massively into drugs and that secondly Fergie wouldn't touch a player known for that with a bargepole. Wasn't sorting out the drinking culture one of the first things he did at manu, i don't see him being stupid enough to take on a drug problem. I also agree you don't sell your no.1 striker to your then rivals to help them, even if we got a winger KK wanted in part exchange. However if Keegan thought it best then i'd back him (well, i did eventually back then!) after everything he'd done, but personally i'd never have given them Cole if i was selling him.

Its worrying that reports are starting to put Taylor out for 3 months+ now, hope that's not the case. I know plenty on here aren't a fan of his, but we can ill afford any injuries never mind long term ones in key positions.

Made snooker as a sport to watch so a legend on the table, moron/dick off it alot of the time sadly. They should go with Ritchard Herring's idea and name the next Hurricane that happens in the world after him, imagine an actual "Hurricane Higgins"!

No Newcastle fan would seriously dismiss our heritage, and speak about Leeds' 10 years of history in favourable terms compared to us. I say again fuckin Leeds half the club Sunderland are let alone us. Even when they did briefly have a top team it was completely spoiled by everything else about them. Clough had them bang to rights in everything he said and thought about them. They had all that ability but had to be the biggest bunch of cheating, cynical thugs the games ever had, with a slimy bastard of a manager who shat on his country for money. Not just content with trying to injure all and sundry they added in diving, intimidating refs and anything else wrong with the game. I've spoken to fans of god knows how many teams of various ages over the years, and all Leeds are known for/as is "Dirty Leeds" and not as a big or successful club like a manu, arse, pool or even spurs, villa etc. Outside of yorkshire i don't think anyone could give a toss about them, and won't unless they manage to win something again. As for talking about us being a joke and a circus etc. thats a relatively new thing, we were crap for years but not a circus and under Keegan we certainly weren't, its not until the Shepherd/Hall incident and then the revolving door of managers and players plus sky sports use of mongs outside St James that we became a farce.

Misses alot of the finishes like Seriously though, this is what i want to see in a player, its why i think Maradonna was the best ever and Messi is currently the best, becasue of play like this, and i hadn't seen much of the Ronaldo stuff at all or i'd have rated him even more than i do.

NOT GOOD...................................
Papa Lazaru replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
This is NUFC, we all knew we' start the prem campaign with a catalogue of injuries and slowly but surely we're getting there. 3 defenders down now, and i'm sure now that Barton has put himself forward for England he'll be next, followed by whichever striker looks in best form! I hope we are signing Campbell as we're looking very short on centrebacks at the moment with any real prem experience as Kadar and Williamson have none and Colo only the one season. -
Personally i'm in favour of the loans from the top clubs. We all hate Ashley and we all know the club is never going anywhere while he remains here, but i'm afraid he is here so we need to get the best we can under his fucked up regime. And that means loaning quality young players from the likes of manu and arsenal so for that season we get a good player with something to prove and we can spend what little money is available on other positions in the team. Its really depressing that we are now in the position of needing to go begging for players from these clubs instead of trying to match them, but that's where we are, and since we can't get rid of Ashley and change anything as of yet we're gbetter of loaning them than having nobody.
-
I still believe he is the best attacking player at the club. Think that view will be vindicated this season but am circumspect enough to realise that it might also be proved very wrong. I'm backing him to do well anyway. I'm the same, if he avoids inury and trouble this time and actually has a good pre-season under his belt i think he is the best we have in central midfield. Sadly so far we've seen little from him for numerous reasons and he seems to take ages to recover his fitness and form after injury which is a problem when he keeps getting injured.

Mackems about to sign TITUS ffs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Papa Lazaru replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
He had everything in him to be a top class CB except for a brain and ability to cope with pressure sadly! I agree with Stevie, he did have a hell of alot of talent but as others have said its completely wasted when you fall to pieces and haven't got a brain. He can't handle the pressure of a place like the toon well at the mackems they'll be on his back very quickly if he fucks up, especially as he's an ex mag so he'll have to be alot tougher mentally than usual! The one downside to them signing him is that Bruce is the manager who got the most consistent form out of him by all accounts, hopefully this time he'll balls up every match! -
Given should play the match instead of him! Seriously though, i agree with people saying its another example of what twats run the club, but i also think we'd be better off with James for 1 season say, and the young keepers. Particularly if it were made clear to Krul especially that after James go he is no.1 so he has an insentive to stay. Because as it stands if Harper were to start thinking of playing on till the kind of age James is and Hughton kept choosing him, then Krul won't stick about, nor should he.
-
He was good enough for Wenger and Arsenal last season and was apparently doing well there, so i don't see how he's suddenly a shit signing for us, considering where we are, if its true. Obviously i'd rather have had him back when Roeder used his appalling judgement to say he was too old, but i'd take him now, he'll play some games, organise the back four and hopefully teach the younger defenders a thing or two.
-
Try this thread, Jesus wept: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=506742 One even admits its the greatest feeling he's had since they won the cup in 73, how depressing it must be to be one of them!
-
Its always a gamble with young keepers, but if we were going to sell a keeper i'd take the gamble and sell Harper and go for it with Krul and Forster as backup. Potentially i think both can be better than Harper in every aspect, shot stopping, dominating the box and kicking/releasing the ball quickly to start attacks etc. and i hope i'm right! I'm still surprised if it happens as i wouldn't expect he'll bring in much money if we think that's what Ashley is doing, and i'd always had Hughton down as playing safe wanting to have Harper as no.1 and keep the young lads as back up.

I meant the Fabregas dive not the Xavi claim - which I agree as full speed view looked dodgy. I'm not condoning shit teams who do nowt but kick people - I'm just saying that in my view if players do ponce about looking for free kicks at every opportunity then I don't mind seeing them actually getting kicked once in a while. I also think that expecting anything else from the Dutch - who I'm no fan of - was a tad naive given that's how they've played all tournament. I also think people are over-hyping Spain's football - yes they retain possession well but they only score 7 goals for a reason - they don't have enough urgency which I think can be a part of good football. I agree with you on the diving, feigning inury and screaming like girls stuff that is throughout modern football and i do like to see players like that given a good kicking, don't get me wrong! It was utlimately for me the team that played football is better than the spoilers who aimed to kick people and better for the game as well. And i agree abouyt the overhyping as like you say they've hardly banged the goals in and aren't always too urgent, but Spain (though certainly more so Barcelona) are how i want to see football. 10 outfield players all comfortable on the ball, all can pass, great touch and vision etc. I mean you watch them and then think of England's shower of wasters, we don't even play the same sport anymore! Fabregas can't get in their midfield, he'd have been better than all of ours on his own!
-
Even if you think there was diving, the De Jong is s straight red all day, Van Bommel committed so many fouls you can pick two yellows out of them easy and Robben blatantly kicked the ball away on a yellow, sad way to be sent off but its a red. De Jong possibly - but I'd argue the ball was there and he could have had an eye on it. If Webb had booked Iniesta for his shove on Van Bommel any of his other dives would have meant no goal. There was also a fucking shocker by Fabregas on the edge of the box when they were trying to claim a pen for Xavi. The Dutch were a bit rough but no different to what Stoke or Bolton in the past do to the good teams and its the same whinging. The Spanish on the other had squeal like pigs at the slightest touch and I find it fucking disgraceful. If its the same one i'm thinking off you could see why they wanted the pen in the split second they saw as he was about to score and was stopped, its only replays that showed he kicked the Dutch players foot meaning it wasn't a pen, so i would have wanted a pen as well at full speed if it were me? And to be fair i absolutely can't stand the likes of Stoke, Bolton (any Allardyce team) etc. they're alot of the reason why football can be shit as they go about spoiling, hoofing long balls and going all out for stregth, power and stamina over skill and craft and football. So i would never want a team like the Dutch who cynically came out with the sole intention of kicking the opposition to stop them playing to win. Also its worse than Bolton as the Dutch can play!
