  1. He did basically say in an interview that Wolves play a high tempo and like to come out flying at home so we took it straight to them, and i like his attitude there. Instead of thinking we have to spoil and try and get the crowd quiet to slow them, he thought as they aren't world beaters we should get at them first and disrupt their quick start. And if we'd taken our early chances i think Hughton would have pulled off an excellent win, hope he does this again against lesser sides away from home. Against the top teams it may be more sensible to try and be solid early on.
  2. Yeah, good point, i think the guy said he had 7 people in his pay didn't he?
  3. Saw the footage on the news, absolutely disgraceful and all involved should be out of the game for good. There is no possible way they can deny it, the guy taking the money mentioned the exact overs in which the no-balls would happen and lo and behold they came about just as he said. But also anyone who watches cricket knows a really bad no ball is still usualyl not that far over the line by and large, but these ones had the heel of their foot over the line by a foot which is beyond anything i've seen, because it was deliberate. Hopefully Trott and Broads work and that of the bowlers won't be undermined though, because as it stands the only stuff that's gone on was in regard to no-balls and i haven't seen any suggestion they tried to lose, so the English lad's achievements are still just as valid.
  4. When you see it on MOTD its a massive credit to Barton for not losing it, i don't think any of us on here would have managed to remain calm and not twat one of their players after what he had done to him. Typical the ref booked him for the one thing he did though and that's 3 bookings now, so we'll be losing him to suspension soon as refs will be straight onto him the second he does anything! Fair enough the MOTD lot havign a laugh as well, because lets be honest if it were Barton playing for another club we'd be having a good laugh. That doesn't excuse the ref though who should have sorted that out early on by doing his job properly.
  5. I know what you mean, i've never seen a test turnaround so dramatically. At 47 for 5 and 102 for 7 or whatever it was we were facing a potential humiliation and we end up with one of the biggest first innings totals we've scored in ages and then skittle them out for 70+, nobody could have predicted that!
  6. Looks like Wolves have decided kicking the shit out of the opposition is the way forward for them, hope they go down if that's the way they're playing.
  7. Yeah we'd have all taken a draw to start with so i'm happy, but if Nolan hadn't missed so many chances we could be celebrating an away win now.
  8. Good test for him to not react or go looking to get them back, he's done well so far after some very poor tackles on him.
  9. And i did read a link to an article in one of the papers which had Carroll as being in a raceagainst time to start the match due to an ankle knock from training. I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else or on the forum etc. but maybe there was something in it and they're playign safe.
  10. Great play by Routledge but Nolan can't keep wastign all these chances
  11. Nolan and Carroll need to watch themselves here, you can guarentee with Wolves fouling all over the shop it'll be us who gets a second yellow and lose a player.
  12. I just thought that was coming after Nolan missed a few chances and then Carroll as well, got to take our chances at this level when they come or we'll get punished.
  13. Its good news that we're all over them, but worryign if we don't take the lead whilst on top, sounds like Nolan has missed a couple. Hopefulyl we'll keep this up though and bang one in soon.
  14. Me too! Just sound tho, no visuals
  15. Yeah, exactly what i was expecting, Hughton obviously rates Taylor and doesn't want his squad weakened, but he knows that wages and contracts are nothing to do with him, so nothing else he can do.
  16. This. Thought Vuckic was particularly disappointing but I thought he played in a more offensive position usually. Think he's supposed to be attacking midfield or playing off/alongside a striker, but this seemed to be one of those games where the ball rarely fell to him and so we didn't get to see what he's capable of, which is a shame.
  17. If nobody else was seriously in for him then fair enough, but otherwise we should have sent him somewhere he'd be no.1 we need him playign regularly to see what he can do.
  18. Krul showing again with 3 totally different saves what he can do and happy to come off his line instead of being tied to it like Harper, he won't be happy sitting on the bench for ever and clubs will be after him. I just don't think Hughton will put him in sooner rather than later and go with the old head in Harper. Decent game though, both young teams having a go and a few of ours seemed to get cramp at the end there! Good run out for the 3 fringe players who scored an good to see Kadar back from injury.
  19. I'm shocked, i just watches SSN show those brief interviews with a selection of toon fans, and not one of them was a total mong who made us all look like complete tools!
  20. I don't think he even realises that is his point. He's just babbling on his Leazes cliches "they can't tell us what to say or think" "give me the gun and we'll see who the terrorist is" "the Shepherds were better." He's trying to take issue with the fact that I said Rushdie's intent was to outrage Muslims. Which it was. Ok, I agree with that. Like I said, he knew what he was doing and was trying to be controversial. You could have just said that to Leazes though. You're eloquent enough to make your points without resorting to telling him to fuck off. He'd hardly be the first person with a book/play/film/song being controvertial to shift more copies, he just had the balls to aim his controversy in an area that would land him in some serious shit! If he'd done an attack on the Budhists he'd have been fine, they'd have just threatened to set fire to themsleves as a protest!
  21. I categorically don't trust the club as they've been proven to be bullshitters, and by and large i don't trust players and particularly their agents, so as you say its not easy to know the truth. I don't think the club had directly come out with the 40k vs 60k stuff mind had they? It was more David Craig saying their sources told them that. Now that could be the club leaking that info (whether true or lies) to him. And as i said earlier it could be the club calling his bluff, whatever figures we're talking about, hoping it'll get him to agree to their offer.
  22. SSN now: Taylor has released statement saying the amounts being mentioned are wrong and that he's still willing to keep negotiating etc etc.
