No Lampard is a real blessing in disguise. He's shit for England, has been for years. Hopefully whoever fills in will show that he won't be missed. I used to think Lampard got a bit too much stick, especially as for a while him and Gerrard were both utter dogshit for England, and since Gerrard is clearly the better player he was technically performing worse! BUt as times gone on he's getting worse and at the world cup he literally made no contribution at all to the team until the Germany game, he was a waste of a shirt, along with Rooney and Heskey!

Send it on to me then, i always like a laugh at our inferiors down the road!

As people have said the main factors were the changing managers, off the field chaos and a shit team spirit all of which have been addressed, for now at least. Given then (And indeed now) would be my first choice so then wins that one. Defenders is a tough one, Beye back then is way ahead of Perch and Simpson as a footballer and defender, don't know what Beye is like now as he hasn't played enough, but i'd still reckon he's better. But i'm liking the look of Williamson and if Campbell gets fit he could do a good job for us and i think this seasons Colo will be more confident throughout. Enrique is even better now than he was and i rate him back then. The midfield that went down was often so slow, one paced and well just shite at times that this one has to be better and with Routledge, Ben Arfa, Tiote et al i'm sure it will be far better. Up front as we know, Owen, Martins and Viduka looked alot better than we have now and if they played often enough and at their best it was better, but if Carroll keeps going as he is and plays regularly, the previous strikeforce won't be looking so far ahead. Ultimately though, that team went down, this one won't!
-
I expect them to win tonight and qualify from the group, get to the Euro's and then bottle it once again! If Terry and Lampard had been fit he'd have been picking the pretty much the same team that didn't give a shit and was a pile of crap in the world cup which once again tells them all they can do what they like and be guarenteed to be back in again and again.

Too many references to clunge?

I bet some of them have had at least a look at some point. They must have! As with actors etc. some people will avoid all reviews both positive and negative, others can't help but look! So some players must at some point have checked out forums to see what fans say. Didn't Keegan relatively recently say something about being worried by toon fans feeling towards him now becasue of stuff on forums, which was a massive shame as it was just a handful of complete cunts making him think alot of us doubt him, when we still think he's a legend.

get Mike Ashley to back him seriously for quality players. so he has to do the impossible to win over the support? I take your point, and realise it is asking a lot, but you asked. I'm impressed at the way he has gone about everything to be honest, with integrity and being a good spokesman for the club. He's got a tough job on his hands this season. I suppose what I mean is if he convinced Ashley he had been doing it wrong, then I would 100% think that would come head and shoulders above anything else. If he does a decent job, then no doubt one of the big clubs would take him away. Agree with that! If he did change Ashley into a big spender he'd be a miracle worker! not necessarily big. I don't really want the club to dish out millions for the sake of it either and never have, I just want them to keep their best players, convince them that they can fufill ambitions here, and you do that by bringing in proven top players sometimes so they see that you are striving to be successful, as well as a sprinkling of speculative ones to go with it. Show them players at the club that the other top clubs want, and they themselves will stay with you. Definitely and come the end of this season it may well be time for this or suffer the consequences. If Enrique has the kind of season i think he will, if Carroll continues as he has and if Ben Arfa sets the place alight as i'm sure he will then those players will be in demand and like you say they need to see it's worth staying due to us showing some ambition. That is if Ashley hasn't sold them or in Ben Arfa's case not even bought him!

get Mike Ashley to back him seriously for quality players. Edit. By the way, before ANYBODY starts, this is a serious reply to a serious question, which I would stick by if it happened. Its not that serious a reply though when you know that no manager will get Ashley to change what he spends! Hughton has done well to get what he has when it includes an ageing Sol Campbell who doesn't fit Ashley's policy of buying young players and actually spending money at all on the likes of Tiote and Perch without having to sell the likes of Enrique, which alot of people thought might happen. Unfortunately we're stuck with Ashley and he is never going to throw millions around, so its daft to expect Hughton to change that. All he can do (And he's started well enough) is work with whatever he can get out of Ashley. The only other option is he walks out and leaves us in a mess yet again with god knows who taking over when you think Ashley saw fit o employ Joe Kinnear! And this isn't a dig at Keegan, he walked for good reason and was right to do so. I take your point too. I expanded on the last post. We [some of us anyway] have already said that if Alan Shearer, for instance, had did what Hughton had did last season, we would be thinking we have the new Brian Clough here. Yeah, and who knows how well Shearer might have done, he'd certainly have been given a bit of time by the crowd because of who he is, but we'll never know. Through no fault of Hughton's at all, if it had been Shearer and we'd stormed to promotion straight away i think there would have been more of a feel good factor just because it was Shearer, but as we know he'd still have been stuck with Ashley's budget! Also i think we all know Shearer wouldn't have stayed in the job without the guarentees he wanted from Ashley in terms of who had to be kept, who to sell and who to buy.

To be fair it mostly seems with Perch (and it is with me) that everyone who is ciritical is saying they just don't believe he'll be good enough for the prem, but that they'll give him time to show it or not. I'm certainly going to give him a full season before i would write him off completely, but as i've said before, the fact Forest fans seemed to like the bloke and wish him well but didn't even think he was good enough for the championship is troubling! He's certainly an athlete, he has the pace and engine to get up and down the flanks, he's pretty tall so should be decent in the air for set pieces and his positioning can hopefully be worked on, but mainly he was signed because he was cheap cover for several positions and we didn't have much cash. Agree with the last statement probably being the case like. It did smack of that, which is why I made the earlier point about (how if he isn't good enough) we'll have wasted money on 3 RBs (Ryan Taylor, Simpson and Perch) when we should've just bought one decent one (especially as Steven Taylor is probably a better RB than the 3 I've mentioned - and I'm not his biggest fan, as you know). I'm not writing him off yet though Blue bin dippers said the same thing about Gosling, so let's wait and see. Leeds thought Cantona was only worth 1m, so to be fair, they deserve a bit of time to prove themselves. The reason i tend to think its different is that Everton fans were bitter (as ever!) that he'd left the way he had, and Leeds fans were pissed off that the team they prob hate most had taken him off them thanks to Wilkinson. Whereas the Forest fans didn't have a bad word for the guy as a person but thought he wasn't up to it. Like i say though, i'll give him time and hope he proves everyone wrong!

I think we'll have to hope that as he's young Perch will keep progressing and that his fitness and pace will help get him out of some mistakes he makes positionally.

Gazza reveals his regret over St James' exit
Papa Lazaru replied to shackbleep's topic in Newcastle Forum
Everyone of them is a cunt, its all clueless younguns though to be fair, kids under 25 who frequent Newcastle Online, and people not from this area. That's not being patronising its a fuckin fact. What they'll never get is KK changed our club like not one other person on earth could, he gave us self belief, and confidence, he raised the stature of the club 10 fold in not even 2 years. You get some younger lads who understand all this because as entwined in the club as what we are, some of them though, their views come just short of deserving a slap imo. ffs I dunno, I'm kind of with Stevie on this one. I'm not actually from the area (grew up on Co. Durham/N. Yorks border) but I was living in Newcastle 93-98. One of the things I always tell people about is the buzz around the city during those Keegan years. I reckon if you're not from the area, or at least experienced that buzz then it's hard to appreciate the lift that Keegan gave to the whole area. It's ridiculous to attribute everything that was good during that time with Keegan though and as I've already stated, I was like a kid again when he came back last time. Nobody in football can get me that excited about the game. He came at the right time and had money to spend. The club had been taken over by people with ambition. It was a lot of things coming together, including the tidal wave of new money and interest that SKY brought with it. Much as I love the Beatles, there's no one single thing or person that made them brilliant. Same with us in the early 90s. Without Keegan it doesn't happen imo. We end up as a club with a respected support with the same stature as say Villa, in a box like stadium 34000 like Boro sponsored by AVEC and Errea. John Hall was a businessman nothing more, made millions from the club, I don't begrudge him it, but all he did was see an opportunity, people like FFS and JFF put the Commercial swing in to the club. Keegan was 90% of what happened, probably more. Exactly, without KK it may not have worked at all. We could easilly have been relegated to the old 3rd division in which case we'd be fucked, or another manager keeps us up but we never really go anywhere and John Hall et al lose interest or don't invest the money they should. After all KK threatened to walk to get money out of Hall in the beginning! And as has been said if you lived in the city and grew up with the Keegan team, especially if you'd spent years watching the shite before it, there was a buzz throughout the city, football fans and everyone else along with them that has never been matched. And to be fair i don't think Stevie was saying anyone from outside the area was a cunt, just the ones who slate Keegan, same as everyone from the city who slates him is a cunt as well! -
That's the badger!!! Top work, Pud! That Kilcline pic at Roker had me looking for his O'Brien one, but it's arranged by home stadium. So I looked at his Sunderland page: http://www.homesoffootball.co.uk/collectio...nderland/2/1039 Nice one. How fucking pathetic is this one BTW? Goes to show what really matters to those bunch of utter cunts down the road... http://www.homesoffootball.co.uk/collectio...wcastle/1/8594/ Considered the possibility that it might have been a pic of them celebrating one of their goals but on closer inspection you can see a few of the sad bastards checking the scoreboard so it must have been in response to news flashing up/tannoyed. The unbridled joy man.... Sad, sad bastards. The two blokes at the front hugging, it looks like the bald one is in tears, such is his joy at us going down! They must have the saddest lives on the planet if we mean so much to them!

I might be tempted to try: -------------------Krul Saylor-------Williamson------Colo-------Enrique Routledge--------Barton-------Tiote------Jonas -----------Ben Arfa ----------------------Carroll Krul because i simply think he's better than Harper. Saylor at RB because i'm not convinced by Perch or Simpson and think Taylor can do a job there in the prem. And i'd like to see what we'd play like with two wingers and Ben Arfa playing off Carroll or even a sort of free/floating role at home anyway, but with Tiote and Barton providing a bit of solidity in there.

I might actually buy the new toon blue top and get 37 SHIT MARADONA on the back. What a negative cunt that cunt is. He's the best signing this club hass made since Craig Bellamy, there ye are, I'll stick my neck on the line. Agree with you, i think he's going to set this place alight with what he can do, we haven't seen anything like him in years. So what if he does have the odd quiet game, most if not all flair players do, and as for his attitude why bother worrying until we see any eveidnce of it happening here. If it does we'll hopefully deal with it well, but until he does cause us any bother why alrwady be having a go at him for it, lets see if he sorts himself out by finding the right club and fans for him here, which could easilyl happen. Mind, he's nee Wayne Fereday like, fastest player in the game i think we were pretty much told back when he arrived!
-
From reading over on SMB, the mackem fans were chanting: And apparently some of our fans got a kicking after the game as well, this of course may just be wishful thinking on their part knowing that lot! But the racist chanting, i'm sure we'll see a full page article by Louise Taylor tomorrow since she hates this sort of thing so much and as a journalist she'd never be biassed or hide stuff done by her favourites, now would she!!
-
Yeah i think we'll be hanging in there till the last second to see if Spurs and/or Keane change their thinking, so if it happens i expect it to be very last minute and perhaps relating to any transfers Spurs can pull off elsewhere. Hopefully he'll try and get cover for LB as well if possible, again even if it has to be last minute on loan or something.
-
Hopefully they won't. Butt, Asif and Amir should have lifetime bans for a start. An actial lifetime ban or a Pakistan lifetime ban...ie 3 months or so! Seriously though, they have to be out and out for good or the game is leaving itself open to ridicule. Its not just this series either, you've already got Ponting saying he has massive doubts over their wins against Pakistan in Australia recently and Hauritz gutted that his match winning bowling effort is now looking discredited, through no fault of his own.
-
It says it's from Soccernet.espn, guess its just a bloke there who's done some research and wrote an article, but seems to know his stuff on Ben Arfa!
-
Found quite an interesting artcile on Ben Arfa: I think (and hope) the last paragraph could be very important, that he might just have ended up with the right club, fans and manager for him to be happy and show exactly what he can do. If he shows some of the play we've seen on youtube etc consistently he will be loved up here like a player has't for along time.
-
Thanks for posting on here, i think all our fans can't wait to see him as we've wanted a real flair player for years, somebody who excites the crowd and makes things happen!

At risk of being accused of being mackem obsessed...
Papa Lazaru replied to a topic in Newcastle Forum
An injury to Bent and they are so fucked, i read they haven't won a game in which he didn't score for over a year now! Fair play to them beating citeh but i've always thought this season citeh would be awsome one week when it clicks, but struggle on another when its apparent the players barely know each other such is the number of changes they've made. -
Keegan Correct, and I trust his judgement on players/strikers. Exactly. He came in and initially talked him up to try and lift his confidence as KK is great at, give him a chance and see what he could get out of him. He then watched him, saw he's nowhere near good enough and wanted rid, something no other manager here has agreed with for some reason! Though to be fair with the right offer and somebody esle coming in i'm sure Hughton would sell him IMO.
