  1. Ah the memories! Always bizzarre to think Stimson actually got a game in the Keegan promotion season, you'd completely forgotten the likes of him were about, with the way it was going under KK!
  2. I'd love to know what Hughton was thinking hauling him off with 2 mins of normal time to go btw. I know we scored after that but, apart from giving Ranger zero chance to get into the game, it made a proper twat out of Perch who was almost bound to be booed off (which I don't agree with either but you'll take my point). And I don't believe CH is the sort of bloke to hang a player out to dry like that deliberately. I know what you mean, he's not a guy who'd deliberately leave Perch to face that, i suspect he just didn't expect so much booing when he went off. And i think the sub itself, (though a little too late for Ranger to do much) was just a throw another striker on last ditch effort and if you're going to sacrifice a defender for it, then take off the guy having a nightmare, and down that side, Zog himself was already off by then wasn't he?
  3. I'm guessing Calderwood then? Whilst we're at it I'm hearing rumours that Middlesbrough are making an announcement at 5pm. Strachan gone? No doubt, and Mobray in i'm sure.
  4. Forest fans on their boards all said, great bloke, not good enough for the championship, no surprise that he's way out of his depth in the prem really is it. What sums it up is that we're wanting Raylor in ahead of him, when he's a midfielder who isn't good enough for the prem! But he is always out of position, ends up booked all the time as he tries to make up for mistakes, is offering nothing going forward other than a good engine and now has the additional problem that his confidence will be shot as he knows he's struggling badly and he got booed off against Wigan, which i don't agree with at all. Criticise his ability on here, but don't give your own players stick at the game for being out their depth.
  5. I'd put my life on it. Bellamy used to quote me in the press man, and I know you think I'm making that up, I'm not. Not regularly but some players have to have read messageboards, basic curiosity, or in some cases ego would guarentee it. And even if they don't themselves, mates or other players will tell them whats being said occasionally i'd reckon. And remember recently when Keegan said he worried about his relationship being wrecked/tarnished with toon fans because if what was being said on messageboards, whether he read them or was told i don't know, and in this case it wasn't this board coming out with the shite he was worrying about. If I was a player I don't think I could help myself. Wasn't there a lower league player who went onto a board to defend himself? I want to say Leon Knight... but I think that's just confusion. Yeah, if i was a player i'd have a look, and if i was a good one and thus popular i'd be a member and post pretending to be a fan, i think it'd be interesting and a laugh personally. If you were shit though, you'd only read it once and leave traumatised!
  6. Show some respect lads, minutes silence needed i think!
  7. Latest on Ben Arfa in the sunday sun: I really, really hope this turns out to be the case, because i'm worried that the kid comes back and is a shadow of the player he was going to be. Maybe there is a little bit of hope that he could be at least close to his best if not as good as new, and possibly even as good as before.
  8. Hughton deserves at the very least a whole season in the prem unless it had gone absolutely tits up and we were heading for a mackem/derby county points total. And hopefulyl for some stability he does well enough in his first season to continue. I think away from home he's doing a respectable job because we deservedly beat Everton, we initially outplayed Wolves and if the players had took their early chances i think Hughton would have had another win there, and Man City we played well but got shafted. At home however he has to be more positive against lesser teams, two strikers is the only way now as the other option was to play Ben Arfa floating behind Carroll. If he keeps going with Nolan off Carroll we offer very little. With transfers he seems to be able to pull some crackers out the bag in Ben Arfa and Tiote, i agreed with his choice of bringing Campbell in and Williamson will hopefully be a consistent prem performer. However when he goes cheap for the likes of Best and Perch its a worry! And overall he is having his hands tied by not having the kind of money he should to rebuild the club, who knows what he'd be doing here if he'd been given £20m or so.
  9. I'd put my life on it. Bellamy used to quote me in the press man, and I know you think I'm making that up, I'm not. 10. Have to say before the match we were in the pub and saw Nolan wasn't playing and i thought fair play to Hughton he's had the balls to make a decision the rest of us have wanted for the whole season, but i then heard he was injured. And i thought to be honest did i really think he'd ever drop Nolan!
  11. Well that was shite wasn't it, i really thought this time when i saw two strikers starting we'd get a win, but we were worse than ever. And i'm sorry but Perch is turning into one of the worst things i've seen in a toon shirt in a long while. Zog was Wigan's sole threat and with a fucking traffic cone at right back we'd have had more chance. Everytime Zog got the ball he seemed about 10 yards away from him, when he was there he couldn't tackle him and about 3 times in the game i saw Perch randomly sliding along the ground for no apparent reason and nowhere near the ball. He also did that stupid backheel withoutlooking up to nobody when a cross might have snatched a goal before halftime. He offers nothing going forward and i've rarely seen anyone more clueless positionally. Calderwood has alot to answer for because Hughton would have took his views very seriously since he managed him at Forest. The rest of them seemed too slow and lethargic, though Enrique was good first half, but Wigan had quickly realised to put 3 or 4 men on our left to stop that and we didn't offer much on the right. Mainly because the management can't seem to tell Guthrie to stay wide, its pretty simple, if he drifts in you bollock him and say he'll be subbed. So with Perch being our massive weak link, it wasn't helped by Guthrie not covering in front of him enough.
  12. I wouldn't play Carroll yet myself, but Rooney is playing solely on his name/rep as he has been utter shite this season and doesn't deserve to be near the England team. And Davies is not suited whatsoever to international football, sometimes rightly/sometimes wrongly refs will punish him because everything about his playing style does not go well with continental refs. He was always going to get doen for the way he challenges for the ball, and as much as i think at club level he does a good job, he wasn't going to score.
  13. What punishments have the English FA or team recieved for fan misdemeanors recently? Genuine question. None but then we've never behaved like that in recent years - not sure what point you're trying to make... I think the point is that, as false as the image of "hooligan little englanders" is, so is the "we never get a fair deal" image... One of my pet hates this ridiculous "If England had done that we'd have been banned for 17 years and all first borns killed for Sepp Blatter's sick sexual pleasure". It's ridiculous and has little basis in reality. Well apart from the 5 year banfor all clubs from England without recourse, something no other country has come close to even when Turkish fans were causing havoc all around europe and threatening and then carrying out murder of other fans. When we got the ban if they'd actually wanted to sort the problem out and be fair and reasonable they would have got our FA, the government and police together and warned them to sort it, if they failed you get a years ban (which i'd have thought more than fair) to really deal with the problem at all levels, you come back to european competition and hopefully have learned your lesson. If not, then you get another ban, but no they dumped us out for 5 years with no chance of appeal and that set us back a fucking mile to be honest. Before the ban we were close to dominating club football in europe, when we came back we were well out of it for ages. And theres plenty of other countries, i don't know any toon fan or indeed english fan of any club who has been to a match in Italy who hasn't been bombarded with missiles and had shit from their police for doing nowt. Throw in refs being coined, and indeed bribed and god knows what else, but no hint iof a serious length ban. Or the collossal and entrenched racism of eastern europe which reaches appalling levels on a frequent basis during matches involving black players. Its a while to be fair since England has been sanctioned for anything, nobody would despute that, but we're the only country who has been done for 5 years or anything apporaching it and we're the only one who ever will. 5 years is never fair or the way to approach it, you do one maximum and get that country to sort itself out, simple as that, and if they don't, then you can go after them strongly.
  14. Just on SSN that he's signed a new 5 year contract
  15. Good to see Nasri showing some solidarity. Arsenal have lost 2 players to career threatening inj, no wonder Wenger keeps going on aboout it. Once again, wenger had fuck all to say about gallas. Its laughable to even associate wenger in any way as a voice of reason. I'd also rather have somebody like Ferguson who'd be shreiking and yelling at anybody who'll listen than a fucking manager like ours who appears quietly disappointed. And I'd sack that cunt calderwood straightaway. Calderwoods comments are beyond belief. What the fuck is he thinking - Oh here's my chance to remind the world I'm a hard man? Fuck off. It's reason enough for the FA to throw out our appeal. They'll point out that we can't even agree on it within our own club. Crazy fucking idiot for making those comments. Not that the FA were ever going to listen to us and do anything at all of course, but you're right, he's just given them a piss easy get out if they even feel the need to say anything, such is the contempt they clearely view this sort of thing with.
  16. I mightn't sack him in case he is doing a good job behind the scenes but i'd publically bollock him and tell him he's a fucking idiot for what he said and that the club expects better or he can piss off.
  17. Adding to what Enrique has said on the issue, we have Nasri slating the likes of De Jong and the joke refs in this country: http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/44727...Van_Bommel.aspx And a legend of football in Cruyff: http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010...anchester-citys Seems its only the cockends in this country who can't see the obvious, our league is fucking miles behind everyone elses in its attitudes, and its not a surprise, our footballers and thus ex footballers are thick as pigshit and our FA and refs are spineless and up the arse of certain clubs.
  18. Sums the prick up that he's not apologising for trying to cripple somebody, but that his team might have won if he wasn't sent off, absolute grade A cunt. Also no suprise to find he's a former Stoke player, definitely learned his style there.
  19. And on the thread over on NO several of them are saying he was high fiving/slapping hands with citeh players after he did it, because it was job done for the cunt. Of course there's nothing malicious about him is there Kidd, you gormless fucking prick.
  20. As much as i applaud him trying to get this stopped (even if it's mainly for his own ends), he's a hypocritical, one eyed bastard and is always going to forget the fact he's had some right dirty bastards in his time! But he is right, and its getting much worse this season and will continue to if the FA and refs allow it.
  21. They may go down this year, though i'm not sure, or even next year but whatever they do i like the guy and think he is a decent manager, not just a source of entertainment. And more importantly he's the oppositte of the sort of arseholes like fat sam and pullis who are ruining the game, his team have a go at you whoever you are and hope thy score more, sometimes it works, others it doesn't but they enjoy it and move on.
  22. Sadly you never will see this. One reason is just horrible luck that its always the better players and decent guys that get done, and complete cunts who go through their careers without any serious injury. And second reason is the so called hard men in football are actually gutless little cowards so they keep themselves well away from other dirty bastards and don't dwell on the ball in places they'd have to take a kicking. They much prefer snapping the legs of wingers and flair players who they aren't fit to lace the boots of. I hope some of the top foreign players like Fabregas start deserting and makign it clear its down to the refs and the FA putting their careers at risk, it would also help if the fuckwitts who play/manage and commentate on football would say what Wenger is saying instead of the utter bullshit they come out with.
  23. And if i was manager this is exactly what i'd have said after the match and take the fine from the cocks at the FA and let the ref know exactly what he is and that the likes of him are allowing people like De Jong to do this shit. Just come out and say next time shall we tell the ref to just give them the game from the start. we can save our energy for a game where the ref isn't a cunt and we might not have a player crippled by De Jong.
  24. Look at Hoddle, when Keegans team were heading for promotion Hoddle, the epitome of a flair player knew fine well we were better and had his team put in the most dirty, cynical display of fouling and cheating you could ask for. Just simply gutless and going against all your principles to me. I seem to remember Jim Smith warning in the chronicle that his team (can't remember who he was boss of then) had played them and he said to watch them as they were a disgrace. As for City, no chance of the title, haven't got what it takes and i hope they get nowhere near it.
  25. Oh well at least there is one positive from the FA's spineless response, much more chance of someone breaking De Jong's leg if he is on the pitch. You just have to look where the fucking ball is as he's still smashing into Ben Arfa's legs to see what it was like, and when i saw (and heard) it at full speed on the TV it was sickening, the guy is a piece of shit and the FA are a shower of useless spineless cunts to a man. I'm gutted for us but also Ben Arfa, people have compared it to what happened to Smith and it pretty much finished him as a player at a decent level. And Smith unlike Ben Arfa doesn't have all that lighting speed, skill and turning ability which will surely suffer with an injury like this. Hope i'm wrong but i think De Jong may have wrecked one of the best talents in football and thanks to cunts liek the FA people like him, Henrty et al will do it again.
