and then me and my bestest friend went to the park and we played football and Sammy Brown fell in the lake and when he came up he was wet and we got chased by the parky but we were too fast for him and then I had beans for tea and my mam let me stay up to watch the football. The whole site is hilarious, one of them makes up a story about some toon fan(s) they know doing or saying something stupid/arrogant and the rest of them go into a wanking frenzy about how stupid/deluded we are. Its always entertaining and its nice to know that whatever their club does, we matter more to them and they just can't stop thinking about us, talking about us and writing bollocks on message boards about us.

If he isn't/wasn't world class (wich is a subjective phrase as Alex said anyway) then he was only a fraction off it. And personally, when fully fit and firing with a team using him correctly i think he could be called world class. And as regards us trying to sign him from Citeh (and i'm delighted we at least tried, it shows Hughton knows what he's doing) i read an interview with Bellamy where he said he had loads of offers but he told all of them he'd set his heart on goign home to Cardiff for his family and to play there while he was still a top player and that none of these teams tried to talk him out of it as they could see he was decided. If he hadn't been going home i think he'd have come here, the people who kicked him out (Souness and Fat Fred) are gone and Shearer is out as well so he'd have been up for it IMO.

Has any fan ever been confident for a derby (especially an away derby)? I think deep down you're always thinking of the worst. Most of the lads I know and most of the SMB will take a draw on Sunday. Ignoring the fact it's a derby, it's an away game, draw your away games and win your home games. I'll take a draw now if you offered it, but that's not to say we couldn't still snatch it. Despite not scoring a ton of goals this season, we're creating a lot of really clean cut chances. The penalties that Bent has scored this season came from him being brought down in front of goal, he would have scored them anyway if he wasn't wiped out. The Man City game being the best example of that, about to shoot and rugby tackled by Richards. If we take the game to you in the first 20 minutes I'll be feeling a lot more confident. We need to silence your lot and build up the nerves around St. James'. An anxious crowd in a derby isn't great. With Steed, Elmo, Welbeck and Bent we have more than enough to cause you problems going forward. If they can't create something in an hour or so then there's always our £13m striker to hoy on. (I'd be worried if they couldn't create anything against your defence in that time though!) I agree its hard to ever be totally confident in a derby match, and you can't enjoy it at all until it ends and you've got a result, unless its a rare occasion that you'e say 3 goals up and can relax. The most confident i've been was under Keegan, he was invincible in derbies as he understood more than any manager what they mean and he took away alot of the worry of those games! For this one, it depends totally which Newcastle turn up, but i'm expecting a much better home effort than recently, a fired up Carroll on top form and Shola up along with him, and for some reason Shola does well in derby matches. I'm going for a tight win to us, maybe including a penalty as we haven't had many this season and its horrible to watch one in a derby match till it goes in!

I was wondering after their games against us and Blackpool if there were dodgy goings on. Just been shown their place, they'll get all the decisions against the percieved lesser clubs, but not against the big boys, the prem doesn't work that way!
-
Funny watching Citeh up against one of the teams that really matter and suddenly the ref isn't giving them all the decisions and winning games for them like against us and Blackpool, doesn't work when they come up against the old top 4, they actually have to win it themselves then.
-
Yeah, he went for it and got his reward, if only he'd done it against Blackpool and Stoke who knows what might have happened! I reckon it'll be same again for the mackems and i'd agree, i think Shola tends to do quite well against them and we need to cause them problems.
-
Tiote was everywhere today! Think most of them put a decent shift in, especially second half and if we can follow it by beating the mackems we'll suddenly be full of confidence and way up the table.

Liked the commentary, "The lodger celebrates with his landlord!"

Strange game, they dominated until they scored, we dominated until we scored then it evened out, and then they probably came back into it, before we finished with a little flurry before halftime. I actually think Shola has been one of the better players, good first touch, decent passing and looked likely to trouble them unusually! But when they hit it early/first time far up the pitch they are getting far too easy a chance to attack us. As people have said Simpson isn't up to full speed yet and their winger is quick, but at least he's in the right position which is a start! I havent seen the usual Perch trick of arriving in shot seconds after he should have been there. But down the right is where we'll be troubled time and again. I want Saylor at RB as soon as he's fit personally as the other two aren't good enough.

Is it just me or is some bloke near the mic saying shite every so often? I also heard "Get in you fucker"as well i think!
-
With a ball at his feet in the box Nolan can be very sharp, he's just lost when needing mobility away from the box!
-
I agree, so it shows CH does realise that he has bought a load of shit in Perch, even more so he has little faith in Raylor. Simpson has played a couple of reserve games iirc. Yeah, just heard Hughton saying he has played reserve games, i wasn't sure he'd played in the last one leading up to this match. And you're right, he hasn't turned to Raylor in the prem this season, so i think he'll be away come January. You'd think so rite? He's not used him at RB nor at RM so whats his purpose? Im sure we could get 1.5 - 2mil for him and we could use that elsewhere. Sadly i think you're looking at £500k+ for him, maybe a £1m if we're very lucky and people remember his spectacular goals every now and then!

Hughton is showing that whilst he's backed Perch in the press he's not waited a second to drop him when a RB was close to full fitness, because Simpson is only just there, he's not had a reserve game under his belt has he? And i certainly won't knock him for going for it with two up front, though Nolan in the centre is troubling and Barton will drift in like Guthrie did. But lets see how it goes!

I'd love fuckwitts like the commentator to stand still and have a De Jong type come and hit him with one of these nothing tackles, see how he feels after that, bunch of clueless pricks to be honest.

Pointing out the non-truths wouild be a start. Its tempting but its like listening to talk sport when the Keegan crisis was going on. Sometimes its just not worth it. Like Polly Toynbee or the Mail its just preaching to the converted. (I might if Im bored during the night in ) Just say you can't answer it, you'll feel better when you are honest with yourself! And its noticeable you usually tend towards the "can't be bothered" excuse whenever Chez crops up here, maybe because he destroys you with ease and at will? It's also noticeable you don't read threads well or you would see I answered several hours before you posted this drivel. The reason FYI I don't argue much with Chez is that his arguments are usually at a very high economics theory level and I don't mind admitting it quite often sounds like gobbledegook. Now run along or post something worthwhile to the debate Tell you what, i will as soon as you manage to, but i won't hold my breath! Good to know i was right about you though, you won't take him on because he knows what he's talking about and is right and ending with a patronising insult shows you know i was right as well.

If true, and since this is NUFC it fucking well will be because that's the luck we have, then on top of the Ben Arfa one i'm just getting so sick of football and the shit we get thrown at us. If you asked me two players that would be the worst for us to lose we've lost them both.

What a bell end, but not a surprise from a tory boy who was chairman of the young conservatives at his uni or something like that, just showing himself up for what he is.
-
Just keep posting this until people like CT get it, doubt it'll sink in though, makes far too much sense.
-
I'm sure they won't except maybe at a club like Chelsea with some rich southern cunts supporting it who might keep quiet! But i'd love it if they tried, because it would be nice to have a bit of noise in the ground for a change, its far too quiet these days, and a minutes silence for that hag would get some atmosphere going! And whoever said chuck her down a disued mine is the winner!

Well that was a thrilling 90 minutes of football! It was pretty nailed on once Bent missed a sitter mind, if Bent doesn't score, mackems don't win, simple as that, so a draw was always looking likely.

You don't need to add "as a manager" to that sentence!

The sad thing is we all know ashley would actually consider it!

Ah the memories! Always bizzarre to think Stimson actually got a game in the Keegan promotion season, you'd completely forgotten the likes of him were about, with the way it was going under KK! Funniest thing I remember about Stimson was that game we played Wolves and we needed a win 0-0 20 mins to go Stimson having a shocker, and he pulled Steve Bull down and got sent off for a professsional foul. When the ref put the red card in the air it was cheered more loudly than any game that season by all four corners of the ground. LB Stimson though and Cornwell was a CH. Yeah, remember that one myself! Wasn't Cornwall also classed as a central midfielder, i'm sure he was at least a utility player, equally bad at both! I think i shook his hand actually, it was that event many years ago when for some reason there was a run (maybe sponsored) around the St James area involving fans, their kids etc and some of the toon players. Can't remember what the hell it was about now, but i was standing near him whilst some people got his autograph and he asked a couple of blokes how they thought he was going and the one said "Not bad but plenty of room for improvement!"
