My finishing is better than Milner's crossing 10998 To be fair to the lad, if we had a 7ft 9" left winger who stood on the far touchline or a midget who stood right side of the 18 yard box his crossing would be spot on. 11081 And yet i'd be happier to have those two players than the attack Souness is taking into the season!

Do you know what is really disturbing. I totally don't rate Venables, his ability lies mainly in getting the cockney based media up his back pipe, but... Had we got him instead of Souness as was originally suggested, he would have come in, finished where Souness did in the league or possibly better. Would have got on well with the players because much though i don't rate him, players love him. And come the end of the season he'd be moved on as it was only going to be temporary, we'd still have a happy Bellamy, Kluivert and Robert at the club and the new manager comign in would have something to work with.
-
Thats strangely about right. 5th would require two goal scorers at least being signed, plus further additions elsewhere and Souness undergoing some sort of transformation into a compitent manager before the season kicks off, or at leats having learned from some of his stupidity! 16th would require an injury crisis (likely at NUFC) at whch point people who have defended all his sales and players booted out will realise why other people had a major problem with too many going out the door!

Thats only true if the yellow frog has eaten from the holy banana tree though, surely?

of course they were pretty rough on people on the Burma Railroad & in Nanking.......... 8897 Really? I must have missed all the japanese kids and teenagers who were involved in the Burma railroad. And anyway thye didn't have video games back then

Its a good point, there's violece everywhere in games, videos, comics etc. but as you say from day one they are brought up to work hard, respect parents, teachers and authority in general and above all be polite!

As said above the rule has always been there for Refs to book and send off players for swearing, abusive/aggressive language they just never have the brains and balls to use it. The refs in this country could cut the problem out within a month by regularly carding and dismissing players for abusive language and managers would soon stop their players doing it. So most of the stick refs get is their own stupid fault for not using the powers they already had and letting little chavs like Rooney dictate their games for them. As SLP said it will start off with a few cards being dished out, most liekly to teams playing against manu/arse etc. rather than goign after the worst offenders. And then it'll calm down and refs will miss a chance to rid the game of this shit.

If he'd played for Ranger's he'd have been here ready to sign a contract!

I can only speak from experience of myself and people i know and the simple fact is: We spent alt of our youth playing violent games in arcades and at home, watched 18 videos filled with violence, martial arts and the like and even read books (fantasy) all about violence and killing. We also had/have very good parents and were brought up properly and shock horror not one of us is, or ever has been in any way violent. Theres no doubting some kids like to ape what they see/read/play/watch to some degree, i certainly liked copying martial arts films (without really hitting people!) but with good parenting this won't be a problem. Maybe apart form those rare exceptions when no matter how good the parents are they just have a complete little shit for a child who is genetically programmed to be a bastard!

Theres some thought and logic behind some of their choices there. I expect Chelsea to win it again, manu could just as easilly finish 4th as 2nd and Liverpool have a top class manager (amazing the difference that makes over having a moron like us!) so could break into the top 3. With Spurs again they have a good manager and a decent squad so they may surprise people. As for us god knows where we will finish but you can't blame them for putting us where they did whilst we have Souness ruining us and if he stays fit Bellamy can easilly take Blackburn to 10th.

I'd love it if that happened, and would await the chronicle to see how much of a mention it would get

A lot of people also seemed to forget that it was his first season in England. 8660 I never got why people were saying he was a complete failure and stuff like that. Yes he'd have liked a few more goals, but he did his job for the team and as you say it was his first season over here. It was the same with Crespo the year before at Chelsea, people were saying he was a complete disaster. When he actually played he was scoring a little over 1 in 2 games and if he's actually happy this season he could knock in a fair few for them.

I've always put things off and done them last minute, its not a problem as long as you do actually do them and do them well. If you are actually missing deadlines and/or handing in substandard work by your normal standards then you may have to sort things out a bit. As for the motivation, with me i'm not motivated until its near the time then i know i have to do it! So sorry but no actual tips really.

There won't be many test matches like that one again, and i couldn't cope if there was!!! You have to give massive credit to Warne, Lee and Kasprovitz for their amazing efforts in nearly snatching a seemingly impossible win, and then to England for finally finishing it when the pressure was really on. But 3 and a bit days of some of the most entertaining and competetive cricket you will ever see.

The first series of bad lads army showed how well it can work. They took a bunch of fuckwitts, arseholes and basically criminal scum in some cases and turned them round to such an extent that some of them wanted to join the army for real. They got discipline, father figures (as many had absent fathers and single mothers) a purpose in life and actually felt worthwhile, its not rocket science. I'd have it back in like a shot for juvenile offenders and keep them in it for 2 years. I wouldn't bring it back as mandatory for everyone as i don't agree with people's freedom of choice being taken away, except when they're criminals.

I think Emre looks like a "proper footballer" t me. Of course by that Souness means somebody he can handle and who works hard and tackles back, with ability a secondary concern. With me it means somebody with genuine class, technique, control, vision and intelligence.
-
Even in friendly's against shite opposition i am always pleased to see strikers get goals as it can lift confidence and good to see Ere get one as well.

Anal Oliver just becomes more and more of a tit with every passing season! It really does disturb me that there are still toon fans out there who believe him and base alot of their thinking around what he says!
