World class keeping from him today, one saves especially. He is a brilliant keeper, particularly bearing in mind his age. Not only the saves but he commands all areas of his box which is something I am struggling to recall any newcastle keeper doing in my lifetime. With Krul it is obviously still potential, but he looks to dominate the 18 yard box, he's agressive and off his line quickly whenever he can and he's a proper big keeper. It's certainly looks good for the future, he'll have the odd moment this season as he's young but he has to be number one even when Harper returns.

Andy Gray there, having a laugh and praising Gerrard for being clever when what he should have said is he took a dive and fell into the Chelsea players legs as he pulled out of a tackle, but then it is England's Stevie G and he never dives does he!
-
Not sure who spotted him but hats off he's excellent. We'll make a pretty tidy profit on that one. Didn't Hughton say he'd been sent to watch him by Keegan a while back and that he'd kept him in his mind and floowed him since then? Not heard that before. Took this from Tiote's recent interview: I know this doesn't specifiaclly say Hughton was sent to watch Tiote per say by Keegan, but i think he did imply that elsewhere, and that he always kept Tiote in his thoughts, with the intention to sign him. Because he did say whilst all the paper talk was about Ben Arfa etc. Tiote was the deal they'd been looking at longest.

Spot on. We've had much better squads in the past but the team spirit is unrivaled since KK first time round. Agree pretty much, KK's era was something else that will never be matched, it was good during Bobby's best seasons, though the odd issue with Dyer etc. but for team spirit and a bunch of guys giving it everything for the fans, they're right up there.

I love the way the rest of them have cottoned on to the fact that he's always available and never loses it. The last player we had who I was as confident of taking a ball even if marked was Rob Lee. Definitely the case, the more they play alongside him the more they see how much time he gives himself and how safe he is to pass to, so he gets alot of possession which means we play better because the guy is class!

This season is the most lively/awake/up for it i've seen him, he's got in the team and deserves to stay there, he clearly enjoys playing off Carroll and played a full part in todays win.

Was gutted he never said it. Funny how Krul thought he was getting the man of the match. Said he was going to have a little though of the champagne Aye, just as they went off camera he said, "I'm, having some of it though!"
-
Krul said it was amazing there, surely it was unbelievable!

Mackem thread for our match already up to 18 bitter obsessed pages!! Amazing how many times our wins have been lucky and because the opposition were shit and didnt turn up, yet when they do well against the top teams they played well!
-
Brilliant effort all round from every one of them and they're fucking loving it! And an unusual word of credit for the ref and linesmen who were outstanding, they didn't favour the "big 4 club" in the slightest just called it fairly throughout. And we took advantage with a brilliant defensive effort.

Yeah, Tiote and Simpson done very nicely, Shola and Carroll working well, great save by Krul and the rest working hard. Jonas has been poor though helped coming back and won a couple of freekicks and Barton's radar had definitely been off with his passing and set plays, but who cares when he does the one that matters! Same again second half all round! Spot on. I tend to have a go at Simpson, but good defending including superb covering/positional awareness 1st half. They're going to have a go 2nd half and have the options of RVP and Arshavin to come on. Yeah, if we come out of the second half having not conceded it will probably have been our performance of the season, because they are going to throw everything at us!

I've never been a Bruce fan because of his pretending to be a toon fan bollocks, but since he went there he's becoming a bigger prick with each passing month, he's laughable now. But being sad, bitter and humourless and obsessed with NUFC means he is fitting in well where he is!

Yeah Reid always came across as a canny bloke to me, but Bruce is coming across as a sad little prick to be honest and its making the hammering we gave him even better the more he cries about it. And its good to know that he heard the songs and that they worked on him at the match!
-
Another red and deserved for yet another of these fucking awful leg breaker tackles, if the Blackpool players leg was one the ground and he got hit at the wrong angle he'd have been fucked.
-
Fair play to Nolan and as people have said with Tiote playing alongside him he is allowed to do what he does well, ie being sharp in and around the box, without his weaknesses of mobility etc being exposed. And Barton albeit early days is doing a cracking job on the right, as long as he doesn't drift inside to often leaving us vulnerable on defence.
-
Jonas already shown how little Routledge was offering and Ranger definitely needs some new studs, he's slipping all over the shop!

He can't do nothing can he ... As PL said, what is the point now when the game is gone. I know what you mean and can'see us coming back either, so it's rather dangerous to bring them on. But Hughton can't possibly hold his hands up after 50 mins and say it's game over... I tend to see it as game over as soon as i realise we've got a "top 4" ref, once you know he's goign to bum them all match you just know you won't win however hard you try! Didn't even know it was the cunt from the Everton game...... I knew he rang a bell for fucking us over before, i thought it might have been citeh but it was everton! I mean even without the ref, arse have looked likely to win but i'm already sick to death of prem refs and their arselicking of the top teams, they're embarassing.

Are the comentators for fucking real, he thing it should be allowed because we wouldnt catch walcott. Missing the fact it was a fucking foul you retard and it happened before walcott scored so whether we would have caught him doesnt matter. And Hughton shouldnt be bringing on Carrol and Jonas, theyre just at risk of injury when we wont win this game with arse 2-0 up and a ref like this.
-
Agree, you sometimes start watching a game half heartedly and it turns into an absolute cracker when you least expected it. Back in the day i would enjoy games where two teams i hate were kicking the shit out of each other, that was always fun, but unlikely these days!
-
Agree it could be close, you're not letting many in at the moment and Bent aside not scoring many at all, meanwhile at home we've hardly set the wworld alight recently, but will be up for thsi one, so who knows! I havent seen enough of your youth and fitness to say, but its pace that worries me more, so if they're fit but not too fast i'm happy, if they're fast then we may have more trouble! Bent is a goal machine and he is the major worry for anybody who plays you. I'm glad if your major threat is on the right/our left as Enrique is comfortably our best defender if not player. And defensively i'm hoping Bramble has been saving a colossal fuck up for this very game! Four our strenghts, agree about Carroll, i haven't seen any deender who can stop him in the air, you're right about Enrique and Barton is doing well, and with Nolan he struggles badly away from the box being too slow and immobile, but when he's in the box he can be a threat suddenly. And as much as nobody up here (including me) particularly rates Ameobi, i have a feeling he'll play and cause some damage, he seems to do canny in the derby matches.

Wasn't there a phot on a thread from a while back taken when they celebrated us going down, i remember it summed them up perfectly as i've never seen them look even close to that happy at anything their own team has done. It had blokes hugging and looking close to tears, one of the saddest things i've seen.

Not a surprise when you realise their joint second top scorer is 'own goal' level with Gyan!
