Can defintiely vouch for Rafa who was an intelligent contributor to the other board. As for the Owen issue its been hard to now what to think at various stages. I think originally it was obvious that he was set on goign to Liverpool and if that failed was definitely willing to come here for a seasons loan. But then we come in with a big money bid for him outright. Then Madrid know how mucht hey can get so they are unlikely to let Liverpool have him for less and he didn't really want to come here fulltime (and i don't blame him) But now, if Liverpool can't make a deal with Madrid he has to make a choice: Stay at Real and not play many games, but hope something happens in January Come to NUFC on a permanent deal and hope it works out well, or maybe have some sort of claue or agreement that after one season he can move on if we haven't achieved certain things? or just come here and make a go of it!

I have all the series of Chewin' the fat which this is a spin off from, but i haven't managed to catch it yet and its a bit far into the series now, so i'll try and catch it if they repeat the whole thing again.

If he can say get his batting average to 35+ and keep it there which he has the talent to do he will be a valuable batsemen and he can keep working and working on his wicketkeeping he's likely to be worth his place. He'll never be the worlds no.1 keeper, but as long as he reaches and maintains a high enough standard and scores runs he'll be worth his place.

One problem being the 2005 side has two injury prone fullbacks and relies massively on Dyer's pace when he is also injury prone. Also we don't have Another striker yet. And one crucial difference is the managers in question whch makes a great variation on how well they'd do, as well as the formations being played. And i'd have Bramble not OB in the first team.

I don't think anybody has said they would want us to lose a match, The only thing people have said is if somebody guarenteed a defeat would get rid of the manager you would accept it. Thats a big shame, really wanted to see us put 500 on the board against the Aussies, not that the last 3 couldn't do that kind you!
