Disagree. If the tactics are right and the players are disciplined enough to carry them out we have enough quality all over the pitch to match anyone. Plan A (our main formation) should be 4-4-2. Its what the players know best and what we are most comfortable with in this country. Keeper - Paul Robinson. Not many arguments about that I wouldn't have thought? James has played and talked his way out of the picture hopefully. Adequate back-up provided by Green and Kirkland (who I still think could be the No.1 if he can steer clear of injuries). Nigel Martyn as a wildcard if you're looking to a more experienced reserve. Full Backs - Ashley Cole on the left. He might be a greedy little cheat but there's not many better left backs. Bridge if fit and in form is the only other LB I can think of to go in my squad Garry Neville on the right. I don't like him as a person, but a solid right back with bags of experience. Cover from Young if he comes on ok or Carragher because of his versatility. Centre Halves - an embarrassment of riches. Sol, Rio, Terry, Carragher all up to the task. Wouldn't it be great if Jonny Woodgate could play enough to come into contention? Upson too slow, Ledley King a possibility. Centre mid - Gerrard and Lampard are the best centre mids in the country. But their styles are too similar. They need to have their roles defined and stick to them. Of the two I think Gerrard is more suited to the holding role so he would need to show the discipline to sit tight as Lamps bombs on. If the situation arises where we need to shore up midfield Carrick and Parker would do the job, more like specialist holding players with decent passing ability. Wings - Sven has to find a left sided midfielder out of J.Cole, Downing or Richardson. Joe Cole has done ok, but he tends to drift inside. Again discipline is needed to keep the shape. Beckham on the right. Not the fastest and not the fulcrum he was a few years ago but still delivers quality balls from the right side and set pieces. SWP as a more electric alternative. Centre forwards - Owen up Rooney playing off him. Again not many arguments about this one. Michael for his pace & finishing (as long as we don't knack his hamstrings) and Rooney for his creativity and power. Back-up from Defoe. Not a bad side? As for a Plan B Eriksson always seems to replace like-for-like which doesn't really change the game. I would like to see more pace and penetration down the wings (from say, Downing and SWP) and an effective target man up front as most of our existing England squad strikers are midgets. Can Crouch or Beattie do it? Anyone coming through the U21's who fits the bill? 28191 A good assessment. As i've said before England are invariably effective at getting the job done but with little entertainment and flair along the way. Its just been that final hurdle when in quarters or semis something goes wrong, or under Sven the fact he can't seem to change anything or the team looks too knackered to change anything! If they click and if they can find something that works on the left they can win any tournament, though it won't be especially pretty, but they can do it.

He wasn't in his best run of form ever around that time, but what he did at Villa showed theres still plenty left to come from him.

Apart from the fact it's going to be on at the cinema! The premiere is on September 18th at The Odeon in The Gate and it opens to the general public on September 30th. 28005 You know what I'm getting at. Is it getting a national or limited release? Lets face it, The Gate is hardly the Odeon Leicester Square. 28099 As far as i know the intention is for a full scale (or certainly big enough) release in most parts of the cinema going world, not sure about USA for example.

Its always a risk when somebody comes back and is older and coming into a different team and situation. With Nobby you just have to hope that because he is basically everything we lack at the moment it will work out great and he'll give us soem more wonderful moments.
-
Its often not the standard you'd expect from some of those players, but it is invariably effective and gets the job done, right up until a point in a tournament when we play a top side and he has to do soemthing different or really go for it and we fall short!

If Brum (or anyone else) decides to buy come the end of the season i reckon it will likely be £1m we get.

They've shown in tests with really "hyper" kids (ie troublemaking little bastards!) that when they cut out all the fizzy drinks and other crap we eat and as you say gave them excercise and things to do they calmed down massively. And if you throw in parents actually doign their job you'll find 99 times out of 100 you can sort it without doping the kids up to the eyeballs!

Surely the conclusion was putting colour-tinted see-through plastic sheets over text can improve some Dyslexics' ability to read it 27316 Aye, aye, ho ho ho etc. Nah, it was neurological in nature. Which part of the brain handles what and such. Its already known that things like Dyslexia, ADHD, Asperger's and such are linked one way or another - something of a continuum, after a fashion. 27334 Don't quite know what you're getting at, but some specialists also deny that ADHD exists too. 27876 ADHD is one of those things that ina few cases may exist, but is invariably just crap parenting leading to a child running riot and instead of actually do their job as parents, just blame it on a disorder, absolve yourself of responsibility and give them some drugs! Like i say there will be kids who have something wrong with them, but you can see loads of them are just out of control through lack of discipline, responsibility and care.

Under Sven England are effective without ever really being worth watching in qualifiers on the whole. Get the job done by just enough but provide little entertainment along the way.

Is this a sign of Sounesses iminent departure. 28051 Well when you combine it with Owen saying he's "looking forward to playing for...i mean with Alan Shearer" it doesn't look good for Souness

27960 Don't slag it till you hear it, It's Great 27969 The whole album is class 28022 You can't beat a bit of Shatner, still think Rocket man and Lucy in the sky with diamonds from his classic years take some beating

I definitely remember reading that Nobby was injured and suspended when he arrived back here. With Emre i was expecting it to be 6 weeks from the manu game for him to be back as the worst scenario and with Dyer i don't know if anybody can really be sure, it could be on and off for some time with this chronic problem he seems to have.
-
Thats it, i hope this does make an improvement, we certainly need it. But ultimately piss poor coaches, medical staff and idiots in charge rushing players back too quickly is where are problems lie. We've shown we are willing to go for the best in terms of players, we have a great stadium and over the years we've went for some high profile managers, so why do we not use our money to surround all these players with the very best medical and coaching staff?

I did notice on the official site there was a section on "The players" as in characters/cast and it had something like: Also appearing are David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Raul and NUFC manager Alan Shearer!

I really think you should!

I haven't read the stuff about Nobby and his girlfriend as the whole obsession thic society has with famour peoples private life is beyond a joke so i don't know all the ins and outs (as it were!). But, you can't make a grown woman have an abortion, you can ask, you can say you won't stay with her or similar but you cannot make an adult choose to abort a baby, they have to do that themselves, so for all i know he made clear what he'd prefer. As i say i didn't read the article so i don't know all the details.
-
Knowing the arrogance and self obsession of most young players these days he's probably just staring into a full length mirror!

Somewhere there is a gay cheerleading troupe missing their songwriter. 27665 You can't help but like it though, a good effort just not likely to be sung by toon fans at st. James'.

Yes, and I bet you don't want anyone of an ethnic persuasion coming and stealing your women either do you!? FWIW, there's a fair few northerners in London....it's called moving. 27460 Divvent try and make him sound racist man. 27462 Well, he is. I'm southern, and he wouldn't want me here based only on that fact. That's entirely what racism is, believing a group of people are all bad and not seeing them as individuals. 27464 For it to be racist you would have to be of a different race (hence the word race beign used) to him, ie he is caucasian and i imagine you are too, so it isn't racist in the slightest unless you turn out to be black, hispanic, asian or something else! Plus i bet there's loads of other reasons why he wouldn't want you up here. 27475 Thanks for that mind numbingly dull post. You ROCK!! 27478 Don't mention it, any chance to educate those less intelligent than myself is always worthwhile. Today you've learned that not liking cockneys isn't racist, who knows what you'll learn tomorrow!

My Magic 8 Ball says he'll get 23 goals 27476 I'll certainly take that!

told yers 27448 You did indeed! Now...how many goals will he get this season and i want an exact figure!!!

Whether its LBM or somebody else we definitely need to sign another attacker in the transfer window as we still need one now even before Shearer heads towards retirement. I'd also like us to be looking at leftbacks in January as well.

Don't get too greedy now.. Bellamy and Owen wouln't have worked though in my opinion need at least one physical striker in the english league these days, Bellamy might think he is but isn't. 27422 Strike partnershops are great when they click, but two unplayable attackers like them would be devastating whether they clicked or not. With all that pace and movement they would pull defences all over the place and Bellamy's finishing was improving and Owens, well we all know about his finishing! You only need a big physical striker if you're intending on punting the ball up at him alot of the time, we shouldn't be doing that often, merely as a bit of a chage now and then to keep the opposition on their toes.

Souness will insist he plays the trombone even though he is clearly suited to playing the trumpet! Dyer more than anyone is right to want him back, Nobby used to improve Dyer's game immensely and they linked up excellently together. Some of our best stuff was played with Nobby on the right and Dyer in the middle with the two of them interchanging, overlapping and playing some clever football with each other. Its a myth that Dyer can't play in the centre especially if he had somebody like Parker in there next to him, so Dyer if he gets fit is capable of covering right wing, right centre and striker.
