1. I`m glad some on here recognise that rather than just blame the manager. Though as much as i feel its unfair to blame just Sven the overpaid players have to take responsibilty but perhaps it is a similar case to Berti Vogts for us. There appears to be no passion or orgainsation in the team and perhaps a shake up is needed. 29829 Mangers have to take ultimate responsibility, thats why clubs/countries aren't just 11 players doig what they want, the manager dictates everything. And when its the formation, tactics, substitutions and management that is causing the problem it has to be pointed out. A top class manager with that group of players and that talent would be hammering the likes of N. Ireland and there is no way the manager can hide from this. 29832 Is this not the same thing we hear everytime things don`t go Englands way and you are looking for a new manager? 29834 You hear it everytime the manager is doing a shit job, which is the way it should be. Theres plenty of people, not just in England who rate this group of players highly, and he is turning them into a very mediocre team when they should be caning teams like N. Ireland with the talent available. The manager is responsible and he should go. 29837 I am not disputing he should go as i posted in my original post i think you badly need a shake up. I do however think that many of the players are not playing to their ability... 29839 There is a certain element of the players not beign at their best its true, i just think most of it is down to his lack of tactics, motivation and the like. Under him i don't see Rooney's childish behavious ever improving as the boss exerts no authority about him at all and won't sort him out. When he behaves like a prick bring him off, if he does it again drop him, you'll soon find he grows up fast when he doesn't get a game. 29847 Sack Sven and bring in Supernanny. 29850 I'm sick of them indulging and excusing the little wanker. Its always frustration and the like for poor little Wayne according to the commentators, no...its him behaving like a twat! He's vital to the team and has all the ability in the world but he needs a good kick up the arse to learn his lesson. Beckham was similar and it took the red card int he world cup and shitloads of abuse from everyone for him to grow up, we don't need Rooney to have to do the same!!!

3. Poetic justice. Also noticed they replayed it several times slowly with sound effects!!!
4. It does take some serious mis-management to turn Lampard/Gerrard one of the best midfield pairings in world football into a joke!

7. Its what i was thinking He gets a nice run around, no injury and is a bit sharper for the match that really counts! Still be even better if the FA grew a pair and sacked him in tiem to give a new bloke a shot at the world cup should we qualify as the players are there for a far better team than he is making us.
8. Sven is just like Souness, people pissing about with systems they don't understand and that waste their best players. Then when it turns to shit, make some clueless subs and have them all running around not knowing what the fuck they are doing, absolute garbage! He has got the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney, Owen, players who would walk into most national sides and he's making us look absolute crap. And as for the subs, taking off SWP was bollocks, and then when we need a goal, heres an idea bring on Owen Hargreaves!!!
9. Does this mean we can expect Gemmill to turn up before the match looking like a deformed and mutated freak, or worse...will the toxic gas have had an effect!
10. What you don't mean good old cockney Joe Cole against NUFC's Michael Owen, i hope you aren't for a moment suggesting the press are a bunch of biassed, london obsessed, bitter little fuckwitts, because that would be wrong!
11. Agree, he was an entertainer at times but didn't delive anywhere near enough when it mattered, week in and week out.
12. Well i'm off work for the whole test, no way i was missing the end to this series! I hope we can win this toss and get a big score on the board first innings again to set things up nicely.
13. I think alot of people had heard of it and it was one that alot of people were tipping to win and wanting to win, which is actually a change from their usual pick something deliberately obscure to seem clever approach! I've only heard the first album so far, not the one that was nominated.
14. Hope something comes of it, but for now i'll not expect it to happen and then maybe be pleasantly surprised!
15. Yeah he's deserved one after some excellent performances and you just know how much it would mean to him.
16. If curries get too hot then really you aren't going to be tasting much but the fire of the chillies. But i have two mates who eat vindaloos because they love the flavour, they don't think its remotely hard to eat them or anything like that. Theres no doubting you can shove some dodgy meat into a really hot curry mind! Theres plenty of stuff over here that doesn't exist in india like massala, balti etc.
17. Indian definitely the one i eat most, but love a chinese as well, only very occasionally get pizzas from takeaways.
18. I was reading that he hasn't had any competitive football yet, so it may be good for him to get a game, but knowing our luck with injuries it leaves you worrying if he plays!
19. They seemed confident Jones would make it as well, thats a massive blow. Anderson is a big risk as he's done nothing really for a long while and been away from England for ages. Collingwood is a risk as if he doesn't bowl to test standard it relieves the pressure we out on the aussies with our 4 pace bowlers and Giles and also we may struggle to take all the wickets. Of course we're going so well that whoever comes in may just slot straight in and we keep on going like before!
20. But Dyer was out originally with a back injury wasn't he? I didn't think it was anything to do with his hamstring... 28949 I think they were saying his persistent hamstring problems may be due to a back problem. I seem to remember a while back Gerrard was getting alot of injuries not actually of the back but they attributed it to that or something like that!
21. Kudos on the random Burchill slating. 28302 It's not totally random, she is quoted in this thread tbh 28310 Glad I skimmed that. I stopped reading at "by Julie Burchill" 28439 same here ................... 28475 I read it, but she is shit, and talks bollocks, and Doherty is a waste of oxygen and a prick, Kate Moss i don't mind either way but she is going out with Doherty which makes her judgement questionable.
22. Especially not at this club with our track record! Its up to the manager, having consulted with his medical staff about recovery periods and the player in questions own record, to make a decision for the best of NUFC long term. Especially in the case of the manu game when if Souness just had the brains to wait, Dyer not only would have been recovering that weekend but had the gap due to internationals to make sure he'd be fully fit and ready for the Fulham game.
23. To be fair though, this is the one time i'd back the mackems and say they weren't just being bitter as usual. Because theres no way i'd pay to go and see a film about SAFC unless pretty much everybody was saying it was great and un-missable!
24. The writing in the recent Auf Wiedersehen series' has been cliched and tired. 28785 Very true, but i'd still back them to make a football film based on NUFC better than if it were left in the hands of your average screenwriter. Anyway however it turns out i'm looking forward to having a good laugh seeing NUFC on "The big screen"
25. I don't think its going to be as bad as people think. The football action side of it they have put alot of effort into as we all know in the past any footy film or tv programme makes a complete arse of the actual action. I think they'll have made a much better job of this side of it than anyone else has. Also the people behind it are footy fans and the screenplay has been overseen by Clement and La Frenais (of Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Porridge fame) so that side of things may turn out better than expected. And anyway no matter what its like ranging from utter shite to great it won't matter, for us toon fans it will be such a laugh regardless that we can't lose!
