1. Its not just Shola's appalling goals record in the prem and some of his performances its the fact that we've all know for an age that he and Shearer cannot play together. They make each other and the team worse and leave us with nothing in attack unless every single player is on their game which is rare. It had to be Chopra, or Zog pushed up something like that to give us something up front. If Shearer was injured and Owen was playing you could get away with starting Shola.
2. In January we have to be going for a striker and a left back, that is the clear priorities that we should be addressing. If we ever get our players fit then midfield isn't an area we need to sort out first, but cover at LB or a better LB and another striker are vital.
3. Losing Owen was a massive (but predictable) blow, but we should be getting 3 points against Portsmouth at full strenth never mind with all their players out. What annoys me is the Owen thing is really shitty luck, but playing Shola and Shearer together, something that is a proven disaster is avoidable as it hinders the team and both players. I'd rather see Chopra play with Al or Zog pushed up, anything but those two together away form home it leaves us with no cutting edge at all. It also shows that as we all know, up front we do not have the cover required when Owen gets injured. Shearer is near the end and the others are not good enough, so Owen is now absolutely crucial to us and the difference between this match and the City game shows just how much Owen changes us. At least we didn't lose and kept a cleansheet which is the least we should expect, but this was 3 points there for the takign and a game i was totally confident we'd win.

If you enjoy it, it's not a waste of time. Plus, it helps keep you fit. 41375 Isn't that the excuse Jimbo uses for his favourite pastime?
5. I'm going for a win and at least one goal for Owen
6. The Mike Bassett film was poor but the series looks alright on the basis of the first episode, nothing amazing but i'll definitely watch it.
7. Yeah, you can't knock her for taking the chance to make money out of being an imbecile, its the wankers who read these mags and who for some reason allow their lives to revolve around what celebs and minor celebs are doing/thinking/wearing/shagging etc.
8. I'm not a hypocrite so teams i hate in the prem i hate when they play in europe. I love to see man and the arse being beaten in europe, i enjoy seeing the likes of the smogs, everton and bolton knocked out, If its a team i dont mind then i won't mind about their result like Liverpool. I have never understood this "support them because they're English" attitude even when its teams people hate week in and week out who have some twats for players and are supported by some complete pricks! For me the fact they are English doesn't warrant any show of support of for another club that isn't NUFC.
9. I thought it actually was the Liverpool game that was the last home win in the prem, but i can't really remeber tbh
10. eh? 40862 Probably means last home win of the season!!!
11. I think he'd definitely have the Keegan factor in attracting/convincing players to come here if nothing else. He may well be a top manager, we don't know, but its a hell of a risk and a hell of a job to start in!
12. It's the other way on. His body isn't fully developed so he's not really ready to play 5 set matches. Same way that boxers aren't ready for 15 rounds as soon as they start in the game. 40816 Becker was defending his wimbeldon title younger than Murray is now, he managed 5 set epics, it just requires better training and coaching with stamina work. It may be he's not ready yet, but in other countries their young players always seem way ahead of ours. 40849 People's bodies develop at different rates though - look at Nadal vs. Murray. Or look at Rooney in football. The stamina will come but it'll take time. I reckon Gol's got it right, although there may be some work that he could do to help hurry things up. 40854 Theres definitely more he could do/have done for him to work on stamina, he has the ability but i've seen him cramping up after 2 sets before and it will hold him back for a while.
13. I agree. But I don't know who that manager is. And more importantly, I don't think Shepherd does. 40845 Shepherd knows who it is...its Shearer!!! 40847 40848 That's more like Iain Dowie

16. I fucking hate that bint like. What does it say about our society when she is a millionaire/celebrity? 40772 Look no further than that appalling 'Big Brother' shit to see the state of our 'society'. Jade Goody. Lord help us! 40793 Don't forget crap rags like Heat which give coverage to every Z-list celeb going. Not forgetting their random slaggings off of people for being too fat/thin. 40799 Basically culturally and intellectually our society is a sack of shite these days, peaking with the medias belief that its good to have "chavs" which is a belief only held by complete pricks!!!
17. For the last few years we finished 4th, 3rd and 5th, alot of money has been spent since the 5th place, first by Bobby and then massively by Souness. So 4th should certainly be the aim with 5th acceptable but not where we would like to be ideally.
18. He still looked like a big Jessie 40764 Most likely! But its the way to play it, as long as you are fouled like that, and it was a typically awful Lucas Neill tackle, then you are right to go down and get him punished as its his own stupid fault. 40807 Yeah, he just needs to improve on his acting though Fair comment about Neil though, I'd love to see him get badly crocked. Remember his shocking tackle on Carragher? 40813 He's made a career of that sort of tackle, i think it was him who tried to finish Bellamy after he'd just returned from injury for us a while back, must have been an interesting meeting when he signed for them!

20. Tonight 8:30pm BBC1 'Second episode of But my feeling is..' Situation comedy starring Anal Oliver and Graeme Souness. Anal recieves a text message off Craig Bellamy and is assaulted by Laurent Robert...with hilarious results 40585
21. He was fouled against Blackburn, it wasn't a dive at all, but it ensure a yellow card straight away and stopped Blackburn using their normal tactics, so he did a great job. The Villa one was just funny and if it had of worked we would have been more than happy!
22. Its funny becasue is true...well he probably has said something like that! I heard another New Orleans joke for AF the other day... As soon as Britain heard what had happened in New Orleans they reacted at once and sent a plane full of 300 Scousers over there...to help with the looting.
23. Basically, if he does well he's British, otherwise he's Scottish 40758 Quite right. Trophy winning Brit or useless, underachieving jock
24. The review of the film on teletext ended by saying something like: "Only the most magpie hating of mackems wouldn't find something to enjoy about this film!"
25. He's going well, but he needs to sort out his problem with playing 4-5 set matches as at his age he shouldn't be tiring/feeling ill/getting injured/cramp so easy and frequently. But he definitely looks like a genuine prospect and since he isn't middle class English then loads of people won't hate him like they did with Henman.
