That perfectly sums Shola up for me, shows a lovely bit of skill that he's capable of then fucks up the easy part that would have set up a goal and won the game, drives you mad!

How can they even debate that??? If we had their ticket prices 80,000 would be too small. We have a fanbase nationally at least 3 or even 4 times theirs, in the North East we must outnumber them 2 to 1, we're a far bigger name. How can they argue? Fancy a win today for us, not for any specific reasons, since we're on a bad run, without Carroll, with Shola and Wigan haven't lost many at home in the prem, but i do just think we'll win!

For me it's simply that, the more teams that are around us at the minute, the better. We start "needing" to win just to stay in touch, then we're going to come unstuck. If Villa, or whomever, keep dropping points we can get a few more places between us and the abyss. And Villa were/are totally struggling for comnfidence and a 3-2 loss like that would have been sickening and left them right on a downer, plus any team down there can be relegated, as we know only too well, so no point having teams getting out of it.

That's why a game like this is crucial to them, they're not down there because of a crap team its because of problems, morale and confidence and if that had continued they'd be right in it, but Chelsea can give them a big lift then as you say the better players will carry them to safety. Still as shit as Chelsea have been they could easilyl draw this and still win it.

Its really shit because Villa were the team in freefall and falling apart, theres usually one that does that and ends up in big trouble, this could get them out of it. If they'd taken a beaten here i reckon they'd be one of the favourites to go down.

Chelsea are woeful, lucky to be 1-1, need to pull their finger out and get Villa beaten from our point of view.

Even better if we're comfortable and Villa are in the shit when we play them, chance for the away lads to give their fans a load of shit back for two seasons ago. Chelsea have been piss poor again though, needed the pen to get a goal. And Villa have already picked up 4 bookings, good chance they could add a sending off hopefully.

This is it for me, he is not just shit in midfield he will cost us points by being so slow, imobile and letting teams break, whilst risking pens and dangerous freekicks with his late tackles. Obviously he won't offer us any movement up front either which if he's paired with Nolan would be frightening and i'd have Ranger ahead of him by a country mile, but if Pardew is goign to play him, then up front probably isnt the worst option.

With him struggling so much, i'd say give him the rest, play a kid there or somebody out of position (as much as i hate doing that) as long as they are made to stay out wide and not drift inside. Because he doesn't look right at all at the moment.

He was doubtful with injury i think leading up to the match, so i'm guessing he missed out. One good thing with Pardue coming in is he's seen two sub appearances from Ranger which may well jump him ahead of Shola in the queue to partner Carroll. He deserves a crack because Shola has gone right back to not giving a toss when he plays and has been woeful recently. Tha said, when we play the mackems away, he'd be in my team every time! Its the only game he gets properly up for and always looks like he'll score and if we get a pen he could take it in his sleep he's so laid back about it despite the pressure. Then drop him straightaway after!

I think at the minute people just want him replaced and fast! I don't know what's happened to Jonas, he's always had at best inconsistent delivery and lacked enough end product, but he always played with energy and dynamism and would run at defenders drawing a fair few onto him and winning freekicks, whilst getting up and down the pitch to help out. But now he's playing likes he's completely lost, and has little of that energy and his previous link up with Enrique is fading fast as i suspect Jose is becoming less and less confident in him.
