It's like a fucking parallel universe at times, that place. I briefly had a glance at a page or so of the Barton thread and forgot it contains some of the most gullible retards on the net, still defending fucking ashley and believing the bullshit coming out of the club from proven liars and an article from the clubs mouthpiece Lee Ryder.
-
Lee Ryder is beyond embarassing with shite like that article, but we were all just waiting to see what particular line of bullshit the club/Ryder were going to come up with, and it didn't disappoint. I'm just waiting to hear what Pardew says because if its anything other than massively criticising the decision he can fuck off and if its defending it he can fuck off and die to be honest. I've been one of the people who haven't been against him from the start, waiting to see what he does/says etc but if he doesnt stand up on this he's a worm who is helping the fat cunt destroy this club. I'm sick to death of it all and wish i didn't have a season ticket at this point in time, and that's before they shift enrique at the last minute and "can't get a LB in, in time" and probably sell somebody else key to the team as well.

Top class from the indians changing the decision as whilst totally legal it would have been a sad way to get a wicket in the spirit of the game and a further show of class when Bell was finally out they were over shaking his hand. Would have been one hell of a fiery last session if the decision had stood, crowd angry, players all fired up and bad tempered, could have been good in a way! England looking every bit a team who could be world number 1 soon if they keep going like this, 11 players all of whom can contribute at any given time and the likes of Finn and Bresnan (when Tremlett is fit) can't even get into the team!

Why are QPR and we so unappreciative of Routledge
Papa Lazaru replied to Irrelevant Nick KP's topic in Newcastle Forum
Routledge has been truly awesome in the Championship, but has disappointed in the Prem. I'm with you all the way there. My little gripe is the use of the phrase 'classic example'. To me that means that there are other examples, and that he's kind of typical. I interpret 'classic' as being somehow synonymous with 'typical' in other words. If that is what is meant, I must protest. I don't think there are many examples of players who have been so fantastic in the Championship, but have flopped in the Prem. Yes, Routledge has flopped in the Prem, in his short time there, but I believe he is very very talented, and would like to give him another chance in the Prem. He was QPR's star player towards the end of the season. I'm not averse to giving him another crack but i think his problem may well be in the head and that's hard to change. I think he has enough talent because i haven't seen a winger play more inch perfect through balls as he did in his championsip spell and with QPR he had an eye for a goal, but in the prem he's like a rabit in the headlights and doesn't seem to know what to do. Its a big shame because i think he should be a decent prem winger, but something hlds him back mentally. -

As somebody said he's the classic example of a player who looks class in the championship (and i was a big fan of him from what i saw then) who when he steps up to the prem either isn't good enough or shits himself and bottles it. Its a shame because he should have enough for the prem, pace, skill and the like but he doesn't show it in the top flight. If we don't sell him though i wouldn't mind having him in the squad/on the bench as cover and give him one last crack at the prem, but so far he hasn't delivered at the highest level. -
Wickham looks to me like the sort with the potiential to be a very good player and who might be the type who steps up straightaway to the top flight because he has that kind of talent, hope i'm wrong! I'd have wanted us to be in for him at the kind of price he's gone for, well worth a gamble to me but we'll not be paying that kind of money for a young player.

Centrebacks should get amongst the goals, probably say 2 is fine, but better if like Saylor they can look for more Defensive mid, goals are a bonus really but 2-5 kind of range if like Tiote you can actually hit a cracking shot Attacking midfielders and wingers if they want to be up with the top players should aim for double figures but 7 onwards in a canny effort These days strikers rarely reach what they used to so for us if ours get above 12 its a start and if they can push near 20 then fantastic

Might as well stick the odd prediction in myself then: We won't be relegated We'll have a better home record than last season (more points/more wins) We won't win more games away than last season At least one of the new singings will be injured pre-season and miss the big kick off (i know this is a no brainer to be fair!) Not including Neil Taylor we will sign at least two more players that aren't free Nothing earth shattering there like!

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest, Ashley and lambias are braindead fuckwitts who instead of keeping their best players will snap the hands off when anyone comes in with money and with Barton there is the additional bonus that he's slagged them off several times so they won't be able to wait to shift him out the door. And if there was any doubt in Enriques mind as to whether to stay or go because of the piss poor lack of ambition here then losing Barton will just confirm it nicely for him, and if he joins Barton who else might want to go.

My opinion too. Not even an opinion, he always was a dirty little shit and cynical with it, and had he played for some little midtable club he'd have had a hell of alot more cards than the large total he achieved, it was embarassing when commentators would keep laughing as if he was clumsily mistiming tackles everytime. However absolutely class player, one of the best of his generation and dirty tackles aside for a football seemed a pretty genuine down to earth guy who kept his personal life to himslef and never had a bad word said about him.

Newcastle United Vs. West Bromwich Albion
Papa Lazaru replied to loonyTOON's topic in Newcastle Forum
Agree with people about the subs costing us, there was no need at all to take Ferguson off, Guthrie was going fine and to bring on Smith, he is imobile when fully fit, he's just come back from serious inujury so what the fuck was he brought on for, we completely lost the midfield after that. At 3-0 we went into cruise control, they scored and briefly it kicked us up the arse and we had a quick flurry of effort, then we just switched off again for the rest of the match. -
Its based on one of my all time favourite series of books, which i would seriously reccomend to anyone who is, or isn't a fantasy fan as i know many people who wouldn't touch fantasy novels yet love this series. So since the 90's when they began i've been waiting to see this filmed for cinema or preferably TV as it is so complex and detailed you would need a 10 hour film for the first book alone. So far for fans of the books the series has been excellent and the casting, if you know and love these character has been so spot on its scary at times. The two guys behind it are not only huges fans of the books but they kept the author involved throughout and he has even written one episode and will do for each series. There have been sacrifices, and it is such a complex story with a cast of hundreds, so much back story and intrigue etc that they could never fit it all in, but they have done a great job so far, and with a second series already in the bag i just hope they get to the end of the books as there is soem potentially amazing stuff to come! But for non readers i'd recomend the HBO online guide to give you an idea of who everyone is, how they're related and what their stories are as it is spiler free but really helps get to grip with it all.

That's the way to stick it to them, everywhere and everyone on the net say who it is and lets see them take everyone to court! I did read in the papers that when the guy started action or threat of action against twitter that shitloads of peopel started tweeting about him so he'd have to go after all of them, and fair play to anyone who did that.

Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
Papa Lazaru replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
Confirmed. Absolutely diabolical. I havent took notice of the trailer or nowt. Whats it about? Aliens invade, but instead of the usual attack on the USA its a tower block in inner city London. Ordinarrilly it might have been a film i'd try, a mix of comedy and action but there is no way i could handle 10 mins let alone a full film listening to a bunch of cockney charva/wannabe black gang member types jabbering away, even though its actors, its people i cannot stand and would want to punch for the entire film whenever they opened their mouths. -
Are ye on the Don Reeve Nar recovering from a late night of debauchery last neet mate. Woodgate as a defender was flawless. Rio Ferdinand was better than someone like Tony Adams, and between Adams and Bobby Moore, who was a truly world class English defender. Ask any Leeds fan who was better Woody or Rio they'll tell you. He should've been an all time great. If you saw him play its not even open to debate, the guy was an absolute genius, i'd rate him as good as Baresi, Maldini etc and its one of the biggest wastes of a player alongside Gazza that injuries stopped him being an alltime legend of the game. I mean he could take some pretty average defenders alongside him and make the whole defence look good at times. I used to watch him when he was here in games, and i'd see him suddenly make a move acorss the pitch that at the time didn't seem to make much sense, but lo and behold the play would end up exactly where he'd anticipated, he just knew. And when fully fit he was one of the fastest centrebacks i've seen at chasing down quick attackers.

It's well known Fat lamps and John Terry were doing the team talks. Even if that's true, and as with the Hughton/Smith/Nolan stories, i never think any manager gives that much control to players, or theres no point in being boss, he'd still be sitting there with those trophies on his CV. Its the same at West Ham, everyone knew that Parker had done that big rallying team talk at halftime against Wigan, but in conjunction with the manager having his say and still ultimately deciding tactics etc. He's clearly not an inspiring presence when things are going wrong, but he was a pen and a decision away from a CL/prem double so with a quality squad, maybe he's not so bad, wouldn't want him here though as i said.
-
I've definitely read that interview a while ago, which was a good bit longer than those quotes, and it was either the sunday sun or the chronicle that talked to him about his past as a player, his lvoe of the toon and the like, and he does come acorss as a scout who knows what he's doing and backed by the club would get us soem top notch players.
-
Surely just re-use the Franz Carr chant, for Graham!
-
To be fair i suspect Carr probably is one of the best scouts out there and i reckon he will have compiled a list of cracking players which the goons in charge will look at and decide most of them are too expensive so we'll miss out! What they will probably do though is pick up a couple of his cheaper/cheapest reccomendations and we will ahve to hope he pulls out a couple of gems again.
-
To me Quinn seems a bit of a Gibson (smogs) type, who will stick by managers longer than he should rather than pull the trigger early, and i think they will give Bruce at least another season, but hopefully with fuck all money so he get thems nowhere. Sadly i think we all suspect they will once again outspend us thanksto the tosspots running our club.
-
To be fair to Grant he was one pen away from winning the champions league and in the same season could easilly have won that and the prem title if Manu hadn't got a couple of shocking decisions in their favour (surprise, surprise!) to win away at Wigan and then the guy would be sitting there with an amazing double. Yet despite that you wouldn't want him anywhere near your club as he comes across as the least inspiring manager in the game! He is certainly not cut out at all for a relegation fight and like Stevie said ages ago, you just knew with him at the helm West Ham were in deep shit
-
Indeed, but the reason was that it was percieved as jobs for the boys, ie. somebody is a geordie or has previous connections with the club and little or no qualifications/track record but get a job, and i still think that was correct at the time. Now he has gone away shown his quality and if he keeps progressing at this rate could one day be the name the fans want here ahead of somebody like Shearer who might never take a job lower down in the leagues to see what he can do.
-
I like the way Clarkie is progressing, quietly getting on with it, producing a team that plays the kind of football we all like to watch with a level of success as well and when i've seen interviews with him he comes acorss quite thoughtful and intelligent in management terms which you wouldn't neccesarilly have expected from his interviews as a player! But it seems he's one of those football people who whilst not academic by any stretch of the imagination clearly was an "intelligent footballer" and that has translated to his management so far. Definitely one to keep an eye on for a future job here.

Usual arsenal defending and typical Bent goal, i've never understood why so many people question the fees paid for him by the mackems and Villa, the guy will score about 1 in 2 for anyone, he's a top class goal scorer
