It was a similar situation with Schteeeve - just wanted an old school English manager who would do anything for the job. What on earth was Penfold doing flying off to Europe to look for a manager, when they were only going to look at English dinosaurs? -

If, as he alleges, he is a United (yes, the right one) supporter, he shouldn't take the job. I can understand that he may have "always wanted to manage" us, but I cannot understand a true supporter wanting to take the job in those terms, setting himself up for relegation and eventual dismissal, when he has a cushy job at Wednesday.

Good points, but I am not sure why we can rely on polls anymore. Given that they have been spectacularly wrong in the recent past, hopefully they are wrong now. However, not sure what would be better in the circumstances.
