To be fair he did have one unsuccessful touch in the last game, so he in form. -

Let's hope we fight hard to get a point against those top teams. -
Not sure I do. While he got a lot of wickets in the first test and in Sri Lanka, I think it is fair to say that he was lucky with a lot of them, and he regularly gave away one boundary an over. You simply can't be giving up full tosses to international players, and he was doing that too often. He has been good before, and he probably will be again, but he was shocking in the last test and saying that he had been hard done by previously does not excuse his failure when he got a chance. Leach got better, Bess got worse.

No, conflict of interest applies in England, as well. -

Fuck I hate these early kick-offs. It means that they are on at a reasonable time here in Oz, so I feel pressured to watch, instead of watching the 25 minute mini match in the morning. Even that is a drag, but having to watch an hour and a half of that dross just reinforces the fact that I could not give a flying fuck about this team. -
I did thanks (I was young then)

Indeed. Is assaulting a more junior member of staff not a sackable offence? If Cashley is so worried about paying him off, he surely could have got him there (as he tried with Barton). Another person already on staff to take his place and no need for the other Steves to go, either, unless they were willing to resign. Sorted!

On the last point, it says he apologised to players and staff, not to the Cabbage Also suggestions in the article that the players have already been to Penfold - not sure how that will pan out, but clearly, whatever Edwards' spin, Cabbage has lost the dressing room (and will continue to do so). While players may clash physically on the training ground, Managers Head coaches should not be the instigators of physical confrontations, especially not these days. Old school reaction from a dinosaur.

That's some boast

No, they still get in if England wins the last test (not likely, though).

Probably, but wouldn't be too hard to blame a former regime

I think India have to win or draw the last test to take on NZ in the final. 2-1 should be sufficient, but I would expect another rank turner so that England collapse and India win 3-1. I doubt they will be tempted to prepare a pitch for the draw, because a match which lasts 5 days could be a lottery. If England are still in it at that stage, it would suggest someone has found the right end of the bat to hold.

I suppose it depends on who is going to be taxed.

I thought Brexit was supposed to sort that sort of thing out.
