  1. Hopefully they will get an appropriate punishment and be cut from the squad.
  2. FWIW, I think that Howe is probably the sort of manager who would put his arm around his shoulder and coax a reaction, rather than Mourinho or Conte who would shout and/or sulk.
  3. A lot of heads need to roll after this, but won't. Silverwood's position is untenable and probably Giles as well. No coincidence that the only time they showed any bottle was when Silverwood was sidelined with COVID along with most of his coaches. Very little good came out of this, but I though Wood was outstanding. Given that he was not expected to last more than 5 overs at a time and probably only a couple of tests, his heart was outstanding. I am sorry about Woakes, though. He may be brilliant in England, but if he is not going to be any use overseas, is it worth persisting with him at home and stopping another player coming through? Robinson needs to sort out his fitness. That was completely unacceptable in a professional sportsman. He also need to find another 10kph from somewhere. However, the bowlers were really the success (for want of a better word). In most cases, they did what was asked of them, but got no rest because the batters could not score. Root's captaincy was poor, I am afraid, and I think it probably impacted his batting. His tactics, which were probably shared with Silverwood, were nonsensical at times, and the use of Stokes as an "enforcer" just resulted in being a bowler down for most of the last 3 tests. Not sure who should take over though. No one outstanding (or even sure of their place). Having said that, Australia's bowlers were head and shoulders above ours. When you consider that one of the major wicket takers was Bowland who was, essentially, their 6th choice fast bowler, then England is fucked. And will be for a long time until they start using the same ball as everyone else, make flatter pitches, and clear out the coaching staff. They need the same approach to red ball cricket that they took for white ball. And they need to do it now.
  4. Like most of us can talk - and haven't even retired for an excuse
  5. Paging TGQ. Oh no, he's been evicted.
  6. So you were oppressing ewerk's people!
  7. Do our current players hold each of the top 9 places? Be good to have a full house.
  8. That'll be the first time anyone else has done that. Must bookmark this.
  9. But what about CT? How is he going to do it? 🍄
  10. Just trying to wind up Shearer, I assume.
  11. On the other hand, China is listening as well.
  12. Without being too Fish (or Rayvin), Tennis Australia and by extension the Victorian Government said he could play in the Oz Open if he met certain criteria. That included having COVID in the last 6 months. Two independent medical expert panels checked the medical evidence blind and said that medical evidence showed he met those criteria. Of course, no one has mentioned whether or not that medical evidence was correct or not, but that is another matter. They apparently were unaware that it related to Djokovic (although extremely fit 34 year old tennis player may have been a clue). However, the Oz government regulations do not allow having COVID in the last 6 months as an exemption for a visa, which is why his visa was withdrawn on entry. Apparently Tennis Australia was notified of this in November last year (but did not inform the Victorian Government), but presumably hoped that refusing him entry would be a bridge too far for the Oz Government. At the end of the day, no one comes out of this well and it just allows politicians here to show how tough they are. It should (and in fairness was) have been made clear before he left that he would not be getting into the country, but a lot of visas in all countries are fairly automatic until you actually arrive, at which time any documents relied upon are actually checked.
