I sent a few PMs to people who when we had a specific thread about Spurs, or even a General Football forum, still felt it necessary to abuse him everytime he posted something about Spurs. I couldn't give a shit about 99% of the stuff he came out with, but it got ridiculous when everytime he made a post it was replied with "fuck off" etc. And what the fuck was that random superfan rant just about?

Middlesbrough I guess, or Spurs/Arsenal like the dark side of my family.

Just sent my housemate out to get us some Prawn Cocktail ones, they're spot on.

Well i'm coming from Teesside so you reach it first, and you avoid the traffic coming out. If I'm coming up the A19 I sometimes stop at Heworth and get the Metro in from there. Yeh I used to do that a few years back, but by the time we'd paid for parking and Metro tickets we thought we might aswell drive on for a few more minutes and walk in.

My first game was the Leicester 7-1 in the promotion season, was only about 7 like so can't remember much. Went to quite a few Boro games at Ayresome Park at that kind of time as tickets became extremely hard to get at SJP, my Dad took me on the condition we were going to watch a game of football, not to support Middlesbrough.

Shut up man. Just cos you got defeated by a kick up the arse in a nightclub! Illegal move tbh.

Apparantly my accent is very Hartlepool, don't know anyone from there to compare it to, but my mates family are all from there and says its identical. I always get ripped for saying caaaardboaard.

I always park in the little pay and display opposite Century FM, its 5 hours maximum I think though. Its a good spot, no one parks there and only about 10-15 mins walk from the ground.

My first lecture at University was entitled 'What is history?' Last year I had a module on the 'History of History', and as of next week I have a module entitled 'Rethinking History'. Now that is fucking boring!

Hyperbole much? Aye steady on. 8 league goals by January is nothing particularly special. He's improving a lot, but you've gone WAY ott saying he's been absolutely superb. Don't think he's adapted that quickly anyway, he scored 1 between August and December. Thats 3 months to get going. Oh shut up, Ally. Had any other poster have said what i said. Any other poster. Martins has scored ten goals and has assisted in five, in his circumstances. That's a superb turn-out, absolutely no two ways about it. And btw... i said "it's" absolutely superb, not "he" is absolutely superb. Learn to read. Anyone could have said it, moody-arse. Ten goals is a decent return imo and i'm pleased with how he's coming on, but he's not scored in enough games for me. The braces he's had have really boosted his total, and i'm not taking them away from him obviously, but he's only scored in 5 games for us. Not being purposely critical, I just think he could have done more and a few outstanding goals have totally overrated his contribution.

It's hardly pedantic. Thats the essential difference is it not? One is history and one is pre-history. Correctamundo. ayethangyew History A-Level Grade A to back that shit up. And thats when A-Levels were still hard! I can only conquer what is put in front of me.

Says the accountant. My degree was boring, but (it wasn't accountancy btw), at least it was mostly numbers and there was a readily attainable right or wrong answer. You're having to wade through stuff about grain collections in 1930s Russia ffs! Besides, I bet accountancy pays better than being a historian......although historians have better beards. Like fuck i'm being a historian! Its not so much about the actual figures, more about the consequences of a few bad years of collections on the peasantry. Its actually quite interesting as history goes, you ignorant git. I'd have to disagree with you there. I think a lot of history is extremely interesting. A lot more of it isn't though. I'd be willing to bet that you're too ignorant re. much of history to make that a valid statement. Actually, you pretentious git, I agree that a lot of history is interesting. But when you consider that history contains everything that has ever happened, a lot more of it will be tedious in the extreme. Aye exactly. Everyone finds different parts of history interesting, yet to meet ANYONE who thinks that every period of history is 'extremely interesting'.

I'd never base any work on it, but its often useful just for a brief background to something. For example i'm currently doing something on the collectivisation of Soviet agriculture, and i've got piles of books on it, but pages like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collectivization_in_the_USSR are canny useful, even for things like definitions, Russian words etc. I doubt anyone is pathetic enough to sabotage statistics about grain collections in the 1930s.

As they say, wait until your penultimate year for a summer placement at one of the big firms. Just try and get some sort of work experience in the mean time so you have something to talk about in an interview/application form. Those summer internships are extremely competitive aswell, theres literally a handful of places and thousands of applicants. I couldn't be arsed myself, but my mate has tried them all and been rejected every time, and he's a mathematical guru. Speak to the careers service, I know here at Sheffield they're excellent for things like this and will tell you what steps you can take for specific sectors.
