Oh aye, we've had History theory modules as well - every f*cking year. Just to rub salt in the wound, just had an hours seminar on the same topic. Post-modernism is absolutely ridiculous, the truth does not exist!

Ahh, forgotten about this thread. Spent the last day reading a book called 'The Truth of History', which says that history isn't true unless you've been there yourself to observe it. All other history is based on inferences etc. Got a point I suppose, but god almighty its dull.

For some reason i'd never seen the Terminator, so my mate bugged me into watching this 'classic'. Wait til I see him next, what a waste of 2 hours! One of the worst films i've ever seen, absolute utter wank. The only amusing bit was the 'fuck you asshole' line, the rest was tedious.

Dunno about the other ex-students on here but I used my student loans and money i earned from jobs to pay for course books and food not designer hair-jobs! Jimbo probably likes his hair to look nice, costs him nowt though £14 once a month though, thats about £4 a week. Hardly massive expense imo. Buying books is a waste of money incidentally in this day and age, most of the stuff I need is online via journal sites and e-books. Only spend about £15 a week on food anyway, so plenty of spare cash. Anywhere i've been that charges £4-5 just seems to massacres your hair with the clippers. Fair play to Jimbo and anyone else if they like their hair shaved off, but its not for me.

A fully elected house would be crap without some sort of major constitutional reform that would see a proper two tier legislature like in the US and other countries. The voters would need to actually see what role the Lords played to make their vote worthwhile, or turnout will be pathetic. Ask the average bloke on the street and he'll probably know what the Commons does, but not a clue about the Lords.
