  1. Enough people were quick to judge Smith when playing in midfield...
  2. You are a Reading fan though.
  3. Dad from Longbenton, Mam from Tottenham!
  4. Born 50 miles away, now live 136 miles away in Sheffield. Sorry Stevie. I live 0.7 miles from Bramall Lane though, Stevie will be fuming.

I see Gemmill is reading the thread as he continues his crusade. I agree with Baggio, he's not as good or as bad as people make out - he's a good player but with a lot to improve upon.
  6. Should spend less time on the golf courses tbh. I want to read that dossier again, has anyone got it?
  7. Exactly, come May we'll look back on the Fulham game and see it as a good result and an important clean sheet. The fact it was a dull game will be soon forgotten.
  8. Aye, Cannavaro walks away in disgust.
  9. My not-so fluent Italian kind of took away the humour. Whats going on?
  10. Absolutely class player, shame for him that he didn't play in the last World Cup.
  11. On his day he was unplayable tbh, brilliant player. A bit (ok a lot) more work ethic and a zip on his mouth and he could have achieved anything really.
  12. Spot on. Liverpool were pretty much on a par with us in 2004, they sacked Houllier at the end of the season and appoint Benitez. By the following May they were Champions League winners. We stuck with Robson in the summer, sacked him in August, appointed Souness and finished in the bottom half! It really grates me to this day.
  13. The 'proven' managers we appointed in the past - Dalglish, Gullit and Robson (to a much lesser extent) hardly brought huge success did they? That is rather reactive, aka Freddy Shepherd of you Ally. I know, I was just trying to put the point out that we've had no luck with proven managers so what harm would a rookie do. Not that I advocate sacking Allardyce and appointing Shearer though, was just saying.

  15. Performance > Position There were some shit performances mixed in there as well though, Jimbo. They seemed to die out once Wadsworth found a new job mind. I can't disagree mate, but one major difference is that we weren't scratching our heads at basic managerial decisions like we are at the moment. There were absolutely loads of times people were sat in the perplexed at Robson's decisions tbh.
  16. If we sack Allardyce this week it definitely cements us a fucking joke of a football club. I though the rash decision making would have gone now that Freddy has left but it seems not. Ok, we're not doing well at the moment but what prospective new manager is going to want the job when they'll know that if they have a bad run of results (its only been 5!) they'll get the chop. Jesus christ.

The Nou Camp is a bit of a shithole inside tbh, graffiti everywhere. Reminded me of Wembley. The Museum there is absolute class btw, we went to a game and the museum but its worth a trip simply for that tbh.
