  1. What it does mean that all the players that we have brought in are now playing for their futures already (some before theyve even kicked a ball for us) and it starts all over again. Truly pissed off at all of this. KK was meant to steady the ship not fucking jump it.
  2. laughing stock of the Premiership...AGAIN Where does the club, and the fans relationship with the current regime go from here?
  3. Danny do you post on any Spuds boards?
  4. I don't think we've seen the half of it yet. Agreed. Still level 2 imo. I doubt the numpties at SJP (most of them anyway) even go the games. Most of them are just charvas who fancied getting on telly / had nowt better to do. The home games though (and the Hull game in particular) could have a poisonous atmosphere. I never seen the kid drinking a bottle of diamond white live on SKY but funny as it is, we're not mackems, we're not scousers, and we're being protrayed as tramps by these kids mulling around waiting for giro day. Sadly Charvers are not just the product of the unwashed or the bin dippers. They exist town & city in the country now. If you work in those surroundings, you begin to notice how many of them there are, generations of them even.
  5. I think theyre looking at it from the point of view that there is a risk of social unrest hanging around Gallowgate and the media circus isnt leaving just yet
  6. Poor effort and a total kneejerk reaction. Unless theyve sat in on the discussions, I fail to see how they can make such a public assumption of where its gone wrong. Who runs True Faith?
  7. You answer that question yourself - he's where the buck stops as far as idiotic executive appointments are concerned. Beat me to it. He created this situation and he did it within a fortnight of bringing KK back to the club. And it was calculated. Calculated to do what though? Undermine the man he'd just appointed? I think it's more a case of Ashley being clueless about running a football club, about KK and about NUFC. I don't think he is totally clueless about running the club. As others have said it, he just got it totally wrong by appointing the wrong people (bar Keegan). The structure isn't bad per se. It would be alright if the people were working within the limits they allegedly were supposed to do according to the job description for the public. For example, it isn't that bad to relieve the manager (Keegan) from some business duties as long as he has the final say on matters like transfers and contract within the financial limits. Ashley probably isn't lying when he says that he bought the club to enjoy it as a football fan. It is his weekend plaything. That's why he isn't directly involved in the daily running of it and concentrating on his other business stuff. Shame that he unlike Abramowitch couldn't appoint the right people. He has no Peter Kenyon with vast experience who he can rely to. He has Labiarse. Wise isn't used to his role either. That's why those probably thought without Ashley running the club himself they can do things as they want to and gradually pushing Keegan out of things. It's just guesswork from, but if things are like this then the situation would easily resolved by getting rid of those who aren't up to their job and appoint people who have a clue and are actually caring (like in the past). The latter is probably a problem as well. I can't see for example Wise and Labiarse working on things with a fraction of enthusiasm like Shepherd did. Fair post. The golden rule of a fan driven business is that the key task everyday is to make sure your prime asset (and link with the fans) is happy, feels wanted and is engaged. Ashley for me is a total amateur at the football game and as indicated above hasn't for whatever reason hired the right people to address the day to day running of the club, if anything he's just hired his mates. It's basically incompetence. You have to wonder what preparation running a casino gives you for running NUFC. I know Mort didn't have any footballing experience either but he came across as mega-able. LLambias looks like an Arthur Daley type to me. Which makes Dennis Wise a Dennis Waterman substitute Aye mort is an intelligent educated man who has risen to partner at a big law firm. Llambias is a glorified nightclub owner. We should have all been a lot more concerned than we were when he was appointed. I think we underestimated Morts role though, and were satisfied that the harmony in the clubh was the Ashley factor.
  8. I cant see why the Spuds WUM needs come on here. Its a Newcastle forum for Newcastle supporters. I dont mind the odd fan from other clubs coming on providing a reasoned argument or wanting information but when their sole purpose is to come on and get bites, its just tiresome

    Head Clippers

Get the Remington Ceramic clippers. Theyre about £25 from Argos, are wireless and are excellent quality. I shave with them about twice a week and have had them for the last 3 years and they still are perfectly aligned and work a treat. No maintenance required either. Had about 3 other pairs before that which were old steel blades and they broke within 6-12 months.
  10. Why has no other club took a gamble on him? Why is he on a free transfer? Surely if he had been performing in Turkey, then im sure someone would have been watching
  11. I dont think Ashley is a Billionnaire though, only as recent as this afternoon has SSN shown the top 5 wealthiest owners in the Premiership and Ashley wasnt included. Lerner at Villa (5) has a fortune of £800m. The timing was chosen due to this fantasy football wishlist that City have all of a sudden drawn up, at the same time breaking a British transfer record for someone seemingly not on their radar 12hrs before the deal was brokered. The money is making the rich richer and the poor are getting the message that they must pay up or fall behind. Too many clubs are going to the wall at all levels and its only become apparent since the silly money started getting thrown about. Since the inception of the Premier League and all the subsequent reshuffling in the leagues below, which club first fell foul of administration? Was it Luton? I know Boro went bust in 1986 but football as a business is a totally different animal to what it was back then. The taxation and parachute payment from these kind of deals to lower league clubs sounds like a good idea, but then some bureaucrat will argue that its not in EU trading laws or something and we wont see any development in protecting these clubs going to the wall. Id be interested to know how many football league clubs are in administration at the moment. More than anything, the money needs to be invested into establishing academies where British kids can be nurtured into players who are good enough to play in the top flight. Less of picking up kids from the continent and throwing them into our youth systems, we need to be looking at the failings of the past 20 years and find the reasons why other countries are continuing to produce talent in numbers when our systems are producing so few. Are British players so poor that the majority exist in the Championship & below for that reason or is it that with foreign imports being cheaper, we are filling the Premiership up with them rather than paying over the odds for a home grown player?
  12. Just seen Georgie Thompson getting into a car on SSN. Shes about 5ft tall!?! Looks much taller sitting down
  13. lol, some 'ammers fan on there wondering whether KK will be joining West Ham. About 2 fans stood around the SSN at the Boleyn Ground.
  14. Seriously though, this threatens the game right to the very bottom. In the efforts of competition, surely there needs to be rules in place so that competition is fair and justified rather than just which club gets a rich owner? Not only should there be a limit of foreign players competing on matchdays, but there should also be a salary cap in place so that the limit is there for everyone to compete with. Football isnt a business like any other, its a sport which has been turned into a business by clever marketing experts who realised all those years ago that by marketing the sport as a brand, they had a huge customer base which they could tap into.

    Insomnia

I would get yourself down the quacks if you're puking blood. Sleep deprivation is a horrible thing. I used to do a run of 7 nightshifts in a row. The first few were a nightmare. Id get in at 7ish, be asleep pretty much straight away (was so tired) but then was wide awake by Midday if not earlier. I was having to concentrate just on staying awake around the 4-5am mark. Just as I was about to get used to it, I was on rest days.
  16. Wheres all the daft 'ammers gathering aroung the SSN cameras?
  17. :elvis: I was particularly proud of "I may not have Walcott to give but El Hadj Diouf I'll give to you" Probably post of the day. Best song from you yet.
  18. Wont get half as much coverage as we got yesterday.
  19. a very good point. we need the league to be more open So ok, we get 20 Billionnaires who buy every club in the Premiership. 3 clubs go down, the same 3 then come back up. I know its not a given that cash will always result in survival but it makes getting into the Prem more and more difficult and even harder to survive once up. The Premier League have always been in it for extracting as much money as they can from the brand. Game 39 will no doubt rear its ugly head once again in an attempt to further market the brand and further remove the game of football away from its grass roots.
  20. Putting aside our current plight, with City being given serious investment, are these foreign billionnaires ruining football as we know it? Since Abramovich took over Chelsea, ploughing his cash into the club and taking them from also rans to Champions, there has been more pressure from the clubs around them to seek their own billionnaires or mega-rich consortiums and as a result, we now have 4 or 5 clubs who are creating a gap between the rest of the premiership which seems increasingly more difficult to breach. The news that Man City plan to bid for arguably 4 or 5 of the greatest players in world football today only seems to highlight a worrying trend that to have league and European success, money, and not team building is the only way to achieve this. As the top 4 or 5 become ever more predictable, those clubs outside of this elite group are not getting money from European competition and so seemingly cannot compete if these clubs bid for players, as we have seen with the sales of Robinho and Berbatov. The Abu Dhabi investors at City have released a statement that they want to buy Ronaldo for £134m, a fee which is greater than the GDP of Tonga. To acheive their other targets, it suggests that they will be prepared to pay whatever it takes to secure the services of these players, and in a business where money talks, players could be persuaded to relocate from clubs with sunnier climes and greater heritage to the blue side of Manchester or London. The pursuit of success not only makes it less competitive at the top but creates a domino effect right down the league, and there are clubs all over the football league in financial difficulty as they continue to stretch themselves to succeed. Where does all this end? Will the rich foreign investors still be around in 10-15 years time when they have got bored of owning a Premiership club? We are already seeing that clubs in the Premiership are seeking to obtain that 5th spot. Will success be eventually measured in achieving 8th or 9th? Will we see a streamlining of clubs in the leagues below as others go to the wall in financial ruin?
  21. I think that would go a long way to resolving their differences. If it all comes together, all hell will be unleashed on Hull.
  22. I think its a fairly reasoned opinion. Are you suggesting that we can only focus on one thing at once?
  23. I said it wouldnt be sorted today after seeing that statement, however I did think it would be sorted by tomorrow. Now I'm not so sure. If it comes down to lawsuits, then MA will find himself in an untenable position as the fans would turn on him anyway. Hes in a lose lose situation
  24. Well i must have refreshed this page about 800 times today at least so that doesnt give much room for others
