  1. Anyone find it sad that there are no British managers in the running for the job bar Keegan? (Which will never happen)
  2. Met him once, total arsehole and no doubt gives that impression to others he meets, hence why I wasnt surprised to hear that his start at Blackburn hadnt been plain sailing.
  3. There must be a load of characters in the game (they cant all be that boring) but none of them choose to show it. Ian Holloway or Strachan are usually good value for entertainment
  4. If you listen to most players they start replies with "yeah you know". Rooney has a problem with "erm"
  5. Why is it that post match interviews always seem to be soundbite scripted pieces from the players? Everytime I watch a post match interview, they all reel out the same shite, same sentences which suggests to me that they get media coaching and none of them are prepared to have a crack with the pundit, or even say anything other than the usual dialogue. Anyone else like to see some players having a laugh post match and just being themselves rather than clones of each other?
  6. Worst thing Walcott could have done is score a hat-trick. Expect mountains of pressure from the media from now on a la Rooney 2004/Owen 1998
  7. clear "pelanty" there.. someone get Waddle English lessons
  8. Ouch. Yeah that looked a pretty decent return for those results til I looked at the top one..
  9. Thats an old hairdo - however I have seen a pic of him lately and he is about 3 stone overweight. Looks way past it now.
  10. I just wish a few more people could hold out until Ashely is ousted, it wouldn't take long if he though match attendances were going to dwindle. If Match attendances were down, without European games, there would be no boost for finances. Unfortunately its gonna have to get worse for it to get better but I cant see people turning away long enough for him to realise that problem.
  11. AP, I cant fail to agree with you there. Ill never step foot in another club shop until FM does one. I know for those who have shelled out for ST will be reluctant to give them up, but that is what puts money in pockets. People cant fail to go to the match without getting the full Match experience in buying programmes, food, drink and merchandise. I do feel for the players as it is their careers which are being messed about and I wouldnt begrudge anyone wanting to get out of this shambles. Money aside, some genuinely do want success in their careers, just like everyone else.
  12. Didnt Souness win the league in Turkey?
  13. +1 They need to have some kind of specific protest. Theyve already said that they wont boycott the game so sounds like they wont delay entry. They need some kind of visual boycott, whether that be cards to hold up, backs turned against the playing surface, banners or pre or post match demonstration. Cant help but think that the timing of his departure and the timing of international football is playing into Ashleys hands here.
  14. Really? Even Aldershot Town are worthy of laughing at you. Get back to lesson before your teacher comes looking for you
  15. 66 or 6+6=12. Leeds fans dont have any higher ground to take the piss.
  16. Ive got to say that I too always check the Leeds results, because ultimately Id like to see the biggest teams in the top division. If MA hadnt come in, we could have been heading the same way so that is the only thing that I could credit him for. I think the Premier League itself has ripped the heart out of football. They are squeezing the fans and now that theyve maximised the marketing potential of England, theyre looking overseas. A few years down the line, I fear that the Premier League may be headed the same as the Rugby Superleague. Theyve just established a franchise where points were scored depending on size of club, location, success etc and those that scored the highest points are being placed into the Superleague and will remain there for 3 years regardless of whether they finish bottom or not. Theyve brought in Welsh teams, French teams and are talking about bringing Scottish teams into it to increase the marketing potential, despite the fact that Rugby League isnt really a spectated sport in those areas. MA has ultimately ruined it for me. After FS you think that things could only get better where really things have got far worse. Ive been to quite a few Arngrove league games and that really is grass roots football. Taking it to a higher level, Ive watched a few Hartlepool games in the town end, stood side by side on the Terraces, pie & Bovril at half time and generally a decent atmosphere. The thing is, to go to these league 1 games now is about £20 which is a product of the increase at the top. Fans are being squeezed out all over the football league. If you wanted to take a family, you're talking £80 a weekend for 90 mins which is getting too much in the current financial situation.
  17. So who'll be taking training now then? Who will be in charge against Hull as I half expected it to be Terry Mac

I think we should ask Al to come back onto the playing staff never mind the coaching staff.
  19. 6 match ban, 6 suspended and £25k fine
  20. I doubt it matters whether Ashley is at the ground or not. The press coverage of the protests will be overwhelming anyway. There might be a few tayties looking to invade the pitch/get themselves arrested but hopefully the majority will go along with a legitimate and effective one. Refusing to buy extras at the game has to be the bare minimum. The concern is how much of the protest will have upon the team. If a complete blanket boycott to enter the stadium was observed and people were to stand outside of the ground and protest then I would imagine the whole situation would have nothing buy a negative effect.
  21. I bet that whoever comes in wont be any good and will be gone in another 12 months. Its Newcastle Utd, theres no point in saying anything otherwise we are a complete joke when it comes to stability and the best club around when it comes to making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
  22. Just watching Alan Oliver on SSN promoting tonights Ronny. GET OUT OF TOON is the headline. Brought a smile seeing AO promoting it.
  23. Hearing underway. KK faxed evidence to FA.
  24. Thing with boycotting is, you're cutting your nose off. I cant see many people collectively wanting to get rid of their tickets. You might find that there be a couple of thousand less, but for a significant protest you need to get around 1/3 to 1/2 of the ST support to bin them. There should be an immediate refusal to shop in Sports Direct, getting the word out to the Charvers who refuse to shop anywhere else. Likewise no merchandise, food or drink to be purchased in the ground or club shops. Obviously match attendance is compulsory for some therefore it should be a voiciferous protest directly at the regime. For those wishing to do so, a delayed entry to the match providing visual fodder for the media.
