  1. BBC site has Kinnear stating that things will be clearer after 22nd November. He says there havent been any firm bids which worries me as I fear that MA will think that the feeling of discontent has gone away and he'll be happy to carry on asset stripping
  2. Just about to come on ITV. He's showing the effects of his chemo.
  3. ITV news theres a piece on Bob in the next few minutes
  4. I reckon theres a decent nucleus in the team, and of the attackers (barring Xisco from what ive seen) theyre pretty dynamic. Nzog offers us a different option to Duff but Duff certainly warrants his place with his performances. Duff & Jonas for the wings, Guthrie & Barton in the middle and the back four with Bassong or Enrique is fine for me. Thought Martins combined well with Ameobi last night, and its actually good to see that Shola does offer something up front. Xisco is the biggest worry. A lot of money for someone who looks like they couldnt be arsed.

    Barton

Think he's got a long way to go to be captain. Sends out bad signals to the kids giving it to him, even though he's very vocal and seems to be captain material. He needs to be flawless on and off the pitch for the rest of this season at the very least.
  6. That Xisco is the laziest piece of shit Ive seen in a Newcastle shirt. Makes Ameobi & Kluivert look tireless.
  7. Duff & Ameobi best players on the pitch for me, but Ameobi shades it for MOM. Put that on record because if i say it again before 2008 is out, ill put my arse in Woolies window. If someone would have offered me 2-2 when they scored the pen, I would have bitten their hand off for it. Well done JK
  8. anyone know of any streams? Which site has that annoying message board next to the stream where the kids always post?

    PES9

I managed to get a copy at Tescos yesterday. Havent played a footy game in a while (got sick of them in 07 when both were shite) but this one is great. Have found it has a few bugs though. I was on a yellow card on "be a pro" and was pressing someone for the ball when it blew the whistle, showed me making a horrendous tackle on someone and then red carded me, before I found myself still on the pitch! Finding it hard to score goals on Pro, but im clearly ring rusty from PES 07

    PES9

Played both back to back last night. PES is definitely not next gen, its no different to PES from a few years ago and therefore wont be bothering as I already have a copy from a couple of years ago. Fifa definitely takes the crown this time and this is from someone who has been PES for years. On offer today in Tesco at £29 so might go and buy it and if it doesnt impress me as much, then i can still sell it on Ebay for what I paid for it, or trade it in.
  11. Yeah but the situation is already way beyond that, the press officer obviously tried to say that the whole thing was off the record but then the Mirror just goes and puts it out anyway (as they would - story and all that). If I had been one of the players sat in the dressing room when Kinnear was announced, id be as disappointed as anybody as he belongs in the Ron Atkinson era. After all the shit thats been spouted these last few weeks, when the manager stands up to the press and starts telling it straight, giving us an insight into whats gone on then I'd sit up and start listening. He wants to get his teeth into the job, knows that he's in it temporary so if he makes an impression there could be other options for him. Too much media training these days turns every player post match interview into the same old Cliched drivel. There needs to be more characters in the game, not more media trained monkeys.
  12. Fair enough, at least the guy is prepared to roll up his sleeves and prove a point to these fuckers. I hope he does, I woudlnt want us ever to do badly and if he picks up points then it can only do us good both on and off the pitch. If Kinnear has a 100% win record at the end of October, then he can stay.

    PES9

Just waiting on mine to download on 360. Definitely gonna split people this year I think, more so than ever. Played FIFA demo and thought it was great. The fact that you can play down the leagues is also appealing
  14. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7648228.stm Just in case anyone hasnt seen this. Watch it as he is very frank, and never dodges the issue. Gets the names wrong though "Guth....thereez, .....wants to be known as Jonas"
  15. Has anyone watched the BBC clip on that link of Kinnear? Embarassing really. I know that he hasnt had the opportunity to really settle down but he's getting names wrong, but is shockingly frank about the situation and he's actually quite candid about it.
  16. Its more the cameraderie that you miss, rather than seeing the match on the pitch. You can watch football in a pub with any Sky or foreign channel but nothing replaces away days
  17. I would put my neck out and say that Bruce has raised his stock by leaving Brum, going to Wigan and showing that he can bring stability to another club. Wigan could have gone down once Jewell jumped ship but they seem to have made some shrewd buys.
  18. Ive read a large part of this thread and it seems that there are 2 schools of thought on this piece - one of sympathy and the other of anger I think MA has tried to appease fans by churning out a PR exercise in which he attempts to weight emotion on the fans, from the angle of supporting the club, but also trying to relate to those for who Newcastle United is a family thing, something which Dads instill into their kids from a young age, take them to the match and the club grows with them. Taking this piece in context, look at the statements which have been released by MA since the farce began. Like others have pointed out, he changes his tack within the statement written today, not least the statements in which he has previously made. By identifying the areas in which he believes the fans are angry, he shows he is totally out of touch with the supporters. We have never demanded big name signings, overspend and risk. We have demanded that the club be put on a secure footing, playing attractive football and showing promise. We wanted a squad with players who could compete and perform for European places, a squad big enough to handle the test of a season of football. When we had players sold at the value of £12m, we expected that to go straight back into the transfer pot and to be spent before the deadline closed, replacing the personnel we had moved on. Ultimately we wanted to have faith in football and in the club. It was being restored. Now that faith has been destroyed. Too little too late.

    Gazza

Unfortunately I fear that we'll never see the well side of Gazza again. He's racing against Winehouse for this one.
  20. After Ince has responded to it but hasnt ruled himself out, this worries me. If he becomes Manager, ill refuse to have anything to do with the club until he leaves.
  21. Stevie, what do you think to all this foreign manager stuff? Would you rather put your trust in an untested foreign manager or an untested English manager. What makes Deschamps record any better than someone like Strachan or Moyes? Strachan won the league in the two horse race up there and had fair success in England. Deschamps won French title and then wasnt much good after that?? I just cant see the logic in giving someone an opportunity from overseas when theres British managers with similar records doing the same job.
  22. Id be saddened if any of our Muppets decided to have a go at your lot in frustration. Its great to see Hull in the Premiership, a club totally new to it all, chance for the fans to visit the grounds etc. Stuff of dreams for City fans I would imagine
  23. No price on Phil Brown? Would have thought being a geordie someone would have got odds on him. Anyone English just got their coaching badge and fancy a job? Zola's got no experience yet the 'ammers are taking a risk on him. Wonder how many British lads they would have gambled on like that.
  24. Happy in his house in the middle of nowhere
