  1. Ill be delighted to hear what excuses reasons he gives for having such a poor transfer window, selling our best player and bringing in players to plug holes. Ill be delighted to hear his reasons to offer JoKin a new contract (If theres any truth in it) Ill be delighted to hear when he turns around and says that he's sold the club and he's taking the rest of his crew with him (I wont hold my breath on this one)
  2. It an absolute disgrace. Just got in from work - what was the Nzog and Given deal final total then? Nice to see no-investment yet again. Ashley has to be in profit with transfers since he arrived. We have to play Xisco now.
  3. so have SSN received it?
  4. Arent Sunderland in for Bent? I read something about a £10million bid which quite frankly is absurd.
  5. Jimbo, Im surprised you feel as you do. The guy has been through 8 managers in 10 years, has seen a change of ownership 3 times and has failed to win any silverware in the time he has been here. For the first time in his Newcastle career, he has probably looked at the situation and thought his ambitions werent matched by the club any more. I can see that, and im sure a lot of other fans do. I dont begrudge him the opportunity to better his chances elsewhere after giving it more than a go for the last 11 years. I dont see how he has left us "in the shit" as Harper is more than a capable understudy, which he proves everytime he comes in to the side. I can fully understand his decision, I just can't understand why people think he should be applauded for it, I'm a Newcastle United fan not a Shay Given United fan, NUFC is a weaker place for his departure, that is to be lamented, not celebrated. I am in agreement with you that it is a sad day when we see probably the only "world class" player left. Totally consistent, and seemingly undervalued his performances have saved many a result over the years. I dont begrudge him for leaving though. Im pissed off at the club for failing to match that ambition and putting him and "us" into the situation that we now find ourselves.
  6. More than enough opportunity to have a crack himself. Good on Chops for saving the day. Oh and thanks to Howard Webb too for that soft penalty

  8. So we're coming upto the last 24 hrs before they close the transfer window. Ill not be getting too excited about it all. I know we're keeping our powder dry until the summer when we'll have a pit of money. Who do you think will come before tomorrow night? In Ryan Taylor A-nother Out Given Nzogbia
  9. Yup, was excellent and by far the better player between him and Collo. Why is it that Collo, who is an Argentine International defends like Bramble? Along with Jonas, Enrique & Bassong, I thought Duff looked ok too. Maybe not as good as the other 3 but certainly did a decent job and gives a lot for the cause.
  10. Yeah, the Zog deal must be as good as done as Ryan Taylor was seen on TV in Newcastle kit. Given was meant to be having a medical so I can only think that we have asked for a player exchange. Maybe they dont want to sell such player but on the other hand, maybe said player doesnt want to come to us!
  11. Theres no chance that we'll be spending the Given money. We never spent the Milner money so anyone with an ounce of sense can see this as just another money making opportunity for FMA.
  12. has fuck all to do with him being irish, i hated Carr and O'Brien and duff is massively overpaid and lost his spark ever since his last injury at Chelsea he's leaving because nothing at the club has been dealt with in years and it's finally hit the point where it's nearly pointless turning out everyweek because his position is untenable, no matter how good a player shay or owen/martins etc are, and no matter how well the stars peform they are let down due to the lack of quality throughout the team and the ability to cope with injuries, were just likely to lose. fuck sake we can't even beat hull I agree, he has been with us for 10+ years now and has been through a lot. Why would he not be allowed to walk out on us? he has served his time and to be honest imagine yourself in his position! Week in, week out trying to stop goals with a defence that is appalling! I for one do not begrudge him a move away from us during this transfer window. I said to my mates during the Liverpool game that he did not look happy and would move during the transfer window. I dont know what you classify as a loyal player these days but i know for one that Shay and Steve have been more then loyal players to us for the past 10 years. I dont give a fuck how many transfer requests Shay has put in! He has still come out, week after week and put in and saved us plenty of points. As i have said previously, he bleeds black and white and will come back in the future as a coach. So much so that he leaves us when the going got tough. So what about Shearer saying that he wouldnt take the job on in the clubs current state? Helping us in our hour of need or just preserving his legend status wihtout embarassing himself if it all goes pear shaped.
  13. Chopra still thinking he was in B&W
  14. Yeah, another one of those decisions which JoKin is famous for. If anyone it should have been Ameobi
  15. If only we had a couple of decent strikers we could have had a bagful
  16. Hopefully a bit of confidence may allow him to hit the target now
  17. Soft penalty, lets hope we can put it away
  18. Shola just isnt chasing balls at all. A change is needed and fast.
  19. All of the attacking play is coming down the left side. Either Jokin has found this to be a weaker area where we can attack through or Duff has just been ignored I dont know but theres hardly anything going down the right. As an attacking option, Jonas & Enrique have done well the last 20-25 minutes.
  20. This is what I find strange. Shola who has for years been criticised and has only a bit part striker, now has another 3 year deal while only being hours away from a move last summer. He hasnt done too badly when put in as a 3 man strike force, but as a target man up top in a 2, I dont think he works. He's best as a hole player dropping balls off to the likes of Martins.
  21. Enrique looks like he would make a better LM than a left back.
  22. Collo, definitely not showing any kind of defensive ability there. Loses his man and then when Cisse has his first shot blocked by Harper, Collo checks his run instead of following the ball through to goal. Unfortunately this gives Cisse vital few yards to tuck away the rebound. Is anyone watchign this thread just for updates or has everyone got something to watch/listen on?
