We have to get Lovenkrands back on board as soon as possible. Its getting to that point in the transfer window where clubs are getting desperate and I can see some of the lower prem sides thinking about taking a punt on him. I cant see what is standing in our way

Oooh I'm a soothsayer! I said last week that Fridays decision would be to make an announcement on Monday which would then announce on Monday that there would be a further extension. Absolutely no surprises and judging by what needs to be done to simply table a bid, i'm not hopeful that this will go through prior to the transfer deadline if at all. Expect an announcement next Wednesday saying that it couldnt be concluded and that he's sticking with it for another few months at least.

I wouldnt be surprised if Ledley King went a similar way. Wonder what he'll pursue instead

I certainly dont think Shearer is the "answer". Of course he understands the club and what the fans are about but is that a pre-requisite to being a manager at this football club? Just because the last 2 successful managers were linked with Newcastle in either a former playing capacity or a supporter, doesnt mean that another fan or ex-player would bring the same kind of success. I would personally rather we went for a manager who had experience, and had a reputation for putting out teams who liked to play football and entertain rather than kick the other team off the park or snatch a goal and defend til the 90 is up. A manager who likes to play the ball is a manager who I would prefer. I dont think there is any point in any of us mentioning who we would like to see come, as no-one knows what fat Mick has in his mind for this club aside from complete destruction.

My bet is that on Monday, the announcement about the sale will be a statement saying that they hope to make an announcement by the end of the week. By that time, they can just hold on 2 more days until the window shuts and then do what they like. Another 11 days to go? Expect to see another 4 people leave by the end of the deadline.

Stevie, get over yourself man. Why do you have to begin a post dragging a club down that we generally dont have any bad blood against? IMO, Wednesday are a big club, but perhaps like our own set of fans, have grown increasingly apathetic towards the way they have been run. Ive known quite a few who are diehard, travelling far and wide to see them. Is it a Yorkshire thing? You dont tend to like many clubs (if any) in Yorkshire do you?

Another story which doesnt surprise me. It does appear that any asset at the club is available while we bring in Loans and old free transfers to replace them.

Player/Coach role could bring the young players on a great deal. Still seems to indicate that we are looking to get rid of another of our players in Saylor or Colo in the coming days. Its not a replacement as much of a stop gap.

Still got a grin on my face about that Shola Hat Trick. I'm really pleased for him and hope that this kicks his season on. (I'm not holding my breath). I'd like to think the good results of the last 2 games (which the opponents were tipped to be promotion hopefuls) gives the team some much needed confidence to mount a serious challenge this season. I was hoping the Championship would be a breath of fresh air and at the moment, it is much more refreshing seeing a win for us, in any league than a defeat at the hands of clubs with very deep pockets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed now that the next fortnight brings some news of a sale or investment in the side. We have to halt the exodus or all of this work will be in vain.

Interesting to hear Nolan's comments about the 2 of them. Theyre obviously creating a bit of a siege mentality in the dressing room and they have been credited with it. If the results keep on coming, I'd rather stick with them for the short term rather than bringing someone in for a term and then replacing them again. That's as long as the clubs future is unknown.

Why did LLambias blow a kiss at Ashley? Does he think that all is well in the camp after the team came away with a good result? Excellent game by the players and all have to take credit for the result although expect to see Ameobi leave next week for about £5million.

This is just what we need from games at home. Good results and decent play as we need to get some good momentum going. Its a long season in this league and if we can start well then at least if there's a glimmer of hope before the end of August, some players might just want to come to us.
