Barca have a bigger fanbase than ours though. I think its obvious that the billionaires coming into the game have destroyed the competition for other teams that dont have it, to the point that theyve destroyed football. There are only a handful (2 or 3 actually) who could win the Premiership, and the same goes for the cups. Once in a blue moon theres a cup shock and thats it. Football will implode financially sooner or later. Clubs cannot keep on spending the kind of money which isnt sustainable and relies upon a sugar daddy to throw money at it. I like the idea of being owned by the fans, but worry about the long term sustainability. I think it would be a good tool to prise the club out of Ashleys hands only to see it sold on again, but this time with the fans having their say on who gets it.
-
Why does it sound far fetched? I know if I had made a bid on something and reached the asking price of what the seller was asking, only for him to move the goalposts and make me look a fool in the national media, I'd be wanting to say something about the way the club was ran. We've seen Moat at the games countless times, he's wanted to buy the club but took an absolute age to get the money together and looked as if he was struggling to get the asking price together. Its like someone saving all of their lives to buy a Ferrari then having dole money to pay for its running costs.

Moat is Ashleys mate. It was all a scam, shill bidding in the hope that some other idiot would come in and buy it. His complete lack of comment in the media suggests that this is the case.

Grass roots football. It may not be the prettiest game, nor does it regularly feature on the back pages but in a time of recession and when prices are getting out of reach for families wanting to watch football, suddenly the lesser option may become attractive. The timing couldnt be better with the way Ashley is treating the fans with contempt. If promotion happens, then I can soon see gates increasing in number quite quickly

I reckon Strachan will be a success at Boro. Different to any previous managers they've had under Gibson in recent years as he's got a proven track record of having relative amounts of success at the clubs which he's been to.
-
Hasnt his crossing improved this season though? When I've seen him in action, he looks a much better player. I think thats been the problem at our club for too long. Promising young players coming to the club without ever having the infrastructure in place to develop them with the promise they had. Milner isnt the only one to fall foul of this

I feel like I've got it myself this morning, bloody cough and cold seems to be getting worse. Allardyce really doesnt think about what he's saying before he says it does he?
-
Would you have him back? Never in a million years

Souness being touted. Lets hope so

Funny thing is the Boro fans have been crying for his head for weeks. On a day when they get 3 points, they kick him out! I think this must have been done last week but Gibbo has told him to stay on until after the next game, at which point he's stood down/been sacked.

Theres a difficulty when supporting the club and supporting MA. I know a lot wont want to give up their season tickets, missing home games and staying away from supporting the lads on the pitch. I am sure they are under no illusion as to how much we hate the ownership of this club. I agree with others in that there needs to be 1 home game where as many fans as possible boycott going to the match. Some ST holders won't want to lose out so those that do, buy nothing in the ground. The only place where we can cause any pain to Ashley is at the turnstiles, in the club shop and in the food & drink outlets at the ground. Week in week out, he'll be losing hundreds of thousands of pounds by not having anyone contribute. This is a real protest not a few mongs outside the ground with their grubby bedsheets.

I was told to put a punt on Curbs 3 weeks ago. Mate tried to get it in a betting shop round here and they wouldnt take odds on it.

Paul Gascoigne’s torments go beyond football

Gazza has been offered a lot of help over the years and he has chosen not to take it on board. While it is very sad to see it happen, he has to want to get well again, and I think coupled with his illness he chooses not to. People say that he's another George Best but I think he's worse than that, and I'll be surprised if he lasts as long. -
Yeah how can this lot complete 2 takeovers in 6 weeks, yet we take more than 6 months and still cant do anything about it? Farcical and points further to the fact that the club are STILL spinning us all over this, despite admitting the same in court.

If you're staying and it's your first time, Keswick is a good base, plus theres always plenty people around in the town on the night so the boozers are generally busy and theres a wide choice of places to eat.

There were about 4 who tried to breach the gap between the Boro & WBA fans the other day. They managed to get across the fairly wide divide, but not quite far enough. All looking at banning orders, I would imagine for the next 3 years...
-
Poor player, and another one known for his headlines off the pitch. No thanks.

If it aint broke dont fix it. Houghton will do until we start sliding. I agree with the comments that with the big time charlies gone, a lot of the players have realised that maybe they dont carry the same stock and thus have to graft to get out of the league theyre in to prove to other clubs in the Prem that theyre worth it. -
I just hate the way in which Sky have hyped this window up. I think they have actually caused this furore on final day between clubs as the years have gone by.
-
Its all well and good making 6 loan signings and a couple of cheap freebies in the hope of getting us out of the Championship, but what are we left with if we do go up? We'd have to buy a whole new squad!

Cathcart was good on FM.

Just saw Lee Clark on SSN doing a post match interview and he looked as if he was about to cry. Certainly piled the pounds on though since playing days
-
Isnt it the usual Friday to have the announcement pushed back to Monday? If he takes the club off the market Monday then he only has to stall for another 24hrs to get the transfer window out of the way...
-
Houghton is definitely working some magic. I certainly would be happy for him to carry on after helping to inspire that kind of performance. Definitely can't lose any more players though, especially in defence.

County are going about it the wrong way if theyre paying the odd player £60k a week in league 2.
