  1. I think that was called getting the rub of the green. Thats another 90 minutes I'll never get back.
  2. I think we will lose this one, anything at the emirates is a bonus. Sissoko is a big loss. I don't think it's a negative to be playing with 1 up top and some pace in the wings. Its the counter that has been effective for us. If it encourages Arsenal to play higher up to expose their lack of pace then it may work.

    Gejon.

Having read the news on .com, thought i'd come on and pay my respects, even though I dont post often nowadays. I seem to remember Gejon from the inception of TT, and I'm not sure when I first came onto it, but its got to be 15 years at least (before the new board). Thoughts are with those who he left behind, 31 is no age. RIP.
  4. Couldnt ever see Liverpool accepting this. Ashley wont break the wage structure for him and I do think it may have been a bit of a PR stunt for Ashley/Llambias. The offer just doesnt stick with our current buying policy. I'd like to see some young promising strikers who havent yet made their name on the world stage. They would accept being benched if Ba/Cisse stay, but would love a chance when they get it.
  5. After that I'm even starting to warm to Llambias & Ashley. Alan Pardews B&W Army indeed.
  6. That good, its online already http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om8tVXhWnAk&feature=related
  7. We have been woeful and fair play to Spurs for exposing the frailties of our midfield & defence, but the ref has given us nothing today. Penalty appeals, free kicks have all gone un-noticed even when he's been stood on top of it. Lovenkrands coming on shows how short of ideas we really are.
  8. 5-0 down, getting a bit tired now and heads are definitely down. Just in time for some more pace in the form of Defoe and Lennon to tear us up for an 8-0 thrashing
  9. im hitting the Cider. Would have started on the Whisky at 4 if I'd known it was gonna be this bad.
  10. Midfield is where its gone wrong. From there, the defence have just buckled. Cool heads are needed now to limit the damage.
  11. Midfield is abysmal. Obertan is embarrasingly bad, Perch is a Spectator. Defence dont know what to do as theyve got no cover. Seriously need to organise themselves and settle down. 3 points gone, looks like damage limitation.
  12. This selling policy of Ashleys is counter productive. We have the makings of a good team, and with another couple of bodies could push for Europe. Failing to sign anyone and potentially selling our best players would only mean diving down the league. If only we actually knew what his game was.....
  13. My aussie mate just texted me that we've offered a pack of 4x and £10mil for Bridges.
  14. Wankers. Couldnt fucking run a sports shop full of cheap tat.
  15. Need a hotel, either Newcastle City Centre or Jesmond. 8th May for a stag (about 16 of us). Left it late but need to find somewhere suitable!
  16. I think deep down most of us think its going to be Roeder all over again and a sacking some point through the season or just a very poor season. Now it won't all be his fault as with Ashley in charge he isn't going to get the money he needs to make the squad what it should be, but he will i fear be found way out of his depth. It would be great if he proved us wrong though, because he will be here under Ashley as he's cheap. I'd much rather be wrong and have us doing well though! Personally I think he's nothing like Roeder and I do think he's growing in the job. I also think he times substitutions well. Im quite happy to stick with him. Bottom line is, if MA is still here come the start of next season, will Houghton be backed in the window? I fear that we wont see any buyers for the club or MA wont want to sell and we'll find ourselves run on a shoestring in a very different league. Our back line has been so good because we're still playing with Premiership players in the CCC. Looking at the goalscorers table, Nolan is top and Carroll is 2nd, but both are way down the league for the CCC. This is a glaring indication that we havent got the firepower to compete so fair play to Houghton et al. for producing the goods and maintaining our run at the top.
  17. I can't see how you can remotely link Bellamy with Best, save for the Coventry connection. To mention them both in the same sentence is ludicrous.
  18. If I was having the same expectations that I had in January 2009, I'd be devastated. As it is, and in the situation we are in, I am merely disappointed. Seems like we've just bought for buying sake to add numbers to the squad.
  19. Havent posted in a while, and generally lurk these last few months but that post hits the nail on the head in many aspects which compelled me to post. Pretty much exactly how I feel and I couldnt be more apathetic about football at the moment. The only thing that keeps me in touch is those at work constantly talking about it regarding bets/fantasy football. I should think the bottom will fall out of the Premiership soon enough. Growth cant be sustained when nothing else has increased. I was watching something on Sky the other day about those in La Liga getting better tax breaks so if nothing else, the opportunity to make more net in wages in Spain has to be a pull.
  20. VERY laggy at times, and yes I am getting the same problem.
  21. What a load of shit. Only Enrique and S Taylor are Premier League quality. Can you not remember how utterly awful these players were last season? Sunderland spent over 80m when they came up and just survived. It would take a similar level of investment for us. Sima... Harper, Guthrie, Nolan and Raylor have 100's of premiership starts between them mate. I never said they were top quality PL players but head and shoulders better than the wank we see at teams like burnley, birmingham, wolves et al barring a few. Simpson is young and will DEFINATLY develope into a PL player for sure IMO. And tell me what you see in carroll that makes you sure he WONT be a PL player....other than his inability to look across the backline which is something he will develope with experience tbh. Simpson might do, but he isnt ours. Will need a lot of new players if we are to survive again in the Premiership. I'm still not certain that we will gain automatic promotion. A lot of this depends on injuries where if we get a few over the winter, we will struggle.
