Lascelles has played his way out of the captaincy for me. Howe needs to take responsibility for that defeat, drop him and bring in some quality at CB. What is up with Fede? Even Fede with long covid has to be better than Nottingham's poorest export, he's always putting undue pressure on the rest of them. I'd even put Hayden on instead of Longstaff and push Joelinton a bit higher. Joelinton is good at disrupting play but we don't have anyone controlling it. To be fair to him he's been a revelation the last few games and is one of the few who can hold his head high in all of this but the rest are not up for the fight. Longstaff should be particularly ashamed given he's a local lad. Unfortunately we are bereft of enough talent or application in this squad and after that, I'm joining the bedwetters. The fact that Norwich leap frogged us only worsens our plight with Burnley left with games to play. We simply don't have the quality to defend a slender lead for the whole game. Howe needs to line us up for the championship next year unless he performs a miracle.

I can't say I was excited about Wood signing, but then he's gone about his work in the background, in a team which undoubtedly creates less chances than the players who have scored 10 goals a season in the last 4 seasons. We have been creating chances but struggled to put them away so he will hopefully get in the right positions to score us some goals. I don't really care it we take to playing long ball this season, as long as we get more points on the board than 3 other teams.

So Vlahovic and Botman pre Cambridge, Cantwell and Wood post Cambridge. Talk about making our expectations realistic again. At least it feels more like the club we all know. Hamza Choudhury in on loan next...

He would be a great start. He's got application and ability and while his wages might be high, what price to stay out of the championship? I'd take Auba on Loan if Arsenal wanted rid of him for the rest of the season, but I'd not want to buy him. Same goes for Alli. I'd rather buy Oxlade Chamberlain and Lingaard.

We need to drag Brentford, Leeds and Everton into that fight and hope Burnley don't get much out of their games in hand. Watford and Norwich look poor.

We ARE paper thin and we got away with it. The fact we have shipped so many goals this calendar year shows how shit Bruce was. The guy was a disgrace. Hopefully we can dig ourselves out of relegation but I think we need 4 players in - CB, LB, RB and a striker.

It's odd that last year we were dug out by Joe, and this year it looks like we might also be dug out by Joe, albeit the one who looked least likely to do so .

Joe has been incredible so far.

He fell out with Bruce, hence going on loan. Bruce fell out with both Longstaffs, not sure why Sean didn't end up with a move.

I think this round consists of those who have had it, those who have got it and those who will have it before the year is out. It seems like everyone has it at the moment, and it really isn't something to be concerned about.
