Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Chaser replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
I see CN is trying to wind fans up by posting about Saudi shirts. I've done the best thing and blocked him. The more Newcastle fans who do, the less clicks or comments he will get and the Telegraph might actually see he is a drunken useless twat who brings nothing to their football coverage. -
Come On Eileen, You Boring Wanderers v Wor Alex ABBA Loving Mags!

I reckon Wood will start. Eddie is all about harmony, Isak will rock up for the last 30 mins. -
Madison or Harrison hopefully next.

I've got a set of those 25kg adjustable dumbbells and I've found that theyve got me doing something, if not everything. I've definitely made some difference to my frame this year, not just piled on fat! They are limiting though, I'd been toying just getting a bench but I could also do with a pull up/dip station as well but finding a spot for it is a problem as the garage is full of bikes and bike related shit. The 25kg a side is also a bit light for chest press and any deadlifts. This is why I've come around to looking to sign up to a gym, plus the changes made from just the dumbbells has spurred me on a bit which can only be a good thing.

For me, a striker is judged on goals, especially if he's up top there on his own. In the absence of goals, their ability to play others into goalscoring positions. I think Wood should still be a useful option from the bench due to his size and ability to muscle defenders but he's not some goalscoring machine.

Cheers @Dr Gloom, thanks for the tips. Where is arm day in that, with back? I'm probably 4-5kgs from my target weight without building muscle so not a million miles away but do need to put in some work. I tend to find winter the best time as I drink less, have little doing other than getting out and doing exercise outside of work. I have counted macros for a month before and one thing I do find difficult is getting enough protein in me a day. The only way I could probably increase is to drink more of it as I was just on one shake a day (along with the rest of my diet). I'll go for the normal gym option, see how it goes and will report back. @Andrew I've seen those spotty chested Waterboys with their HGH and Test. Some of them seem to just look at the weights and put a few inches on their chest whilst losing it from their cock.

I'm looking to join a gym at the minute. BMI is 25-26, and I'm about 78kg and a bit soft in the middle. I've been at the cardio for over 10 years but over the last 12 months it's become more sporadic through work to where I've gained weight. Started training with weights this year and really enjoy it. I've been working in hotels and making use of their gyms and then using heavy dumbbells at home but find that limiting, especially for back exercises. I'm not sure whether I should just join a gym which I can use machines and free weights and grunt at mirrors as I please or whether I join one of those cross fit type places. I'm looking for athletic muscle rather than looking like a roid head.

Trying to get onto the forum but repeatedly met with a page suggesting I've been banned yet another few clicks back and forth and I can get back in. Any ideas?

Howe's The Pedro Pursuit You Ask? v Mike Deans Mellon Munchers

I'd have taken a premier League or championship tie. Playing against these lads in the lower reaches is a bit risky in that they can't compete on a skill level, but can kick seven shades of shit out of any PL side if the ref is a shite hawk like the one we had tonight. Hope those who did get assaulted don't come off with lengthy spells on the treatment table.. -
I think he was a good understudy for Dubs but on early showings, Pope is some way better than Dubravka

That Hemmings shouldn't be on the pitch. Absolutely disgraceful decision. -
Wilson is injury prone unfortunately. A shame for him and us as he is a top striker and should be in the England squad.

That midfield pairing of Joe and Bruno is something to behold though. Pace, energy, power and skill. We have had some decent pairings before in Cabaye/Tiote, Lee/Speed but these two just click together perfectly. I did wonder whether Joe would be a bit of a one season wonder but he's just picked up where he left off last season. Handy theyre both Brazilian, maybe a 3rd one is a good idea.

Still 12 days of the window to go. Not time to get wet knickers yet.

Agree mostly with that but I wouldn't say we are looking for selfless individuals. Theyll come for the right package. If they're older professionals like Trips it'll be starting place, big payday and for him chance to raise his family not too far from the rest of his family. For Bruno and Botman it's a chance to play in the PL, top wages and potential of Europe in 12 months. We have to commit players to the project now to be able to realise those European ambitions short term as that is what raises the club profile to overseas players.

To be fair like, I thought we would have had someone in who could score a goal or two before now. Don't want us going to the reduced aisle for the likes of Arnautovic or Rabiot like some other desperate club come the last days of the window....
