I think its a good appointment - Glenns made some real progress with the team - look at the stats of our final points in previous seasons and think what we could have done had Glenn been there from the beginning On the flip side, if Roeder was rejected then i would have wanter MON or Allardyce and because Allardyce rejected the 1st offer a couple of years ago, FF wont go back in for him.

With all the talk of which forwards will go to the WC thought id start a thread on it. So, Sven is to take 4 forwards to Germany - who would you take? Owen Ashton Bent Crouch No one could fill Rooneys role but a slightly different role putting Ashton in there for strength and power could prove a good alternative. Crouch is never a starter and Bent might play better up on his own with Gerrard and Lampard supporting him with someone like Carrick sitting deeper.

i dont think you can say that we have lowered expectations - glenn has exceeded all expectations of him to get us where we are. He has done a fantastic job with the same team who was staring relegation in the face had the results not turned around. We've had big name managers in the past and while theyve attracted big names, they havent had the best out of them. Sam Allardyce isnt a big name but he's attracted some big names to Bolton because he has built up a reputation for what he's done with with the players he has. Any manager is only as good as the results they get
