Pope or Dubs - who do you think should start for the rest of the season?
Craig replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Pope is the better keeper, but his confidence and match fitness is currently shot. Only one way that's going to be improved. That said, I don't think last night was the best platform to do that - I think Dubravka should have played. I'd go with Pope for other games though. -
His daughter saying she supsects Carbon Monoxide poisoning.

I've heard a rumour we're expected to go in for Mbeumo in the summer. I doubt he'll be up to Gloomy's standards either. As for the priority, it remains what it was last summer. A centre back. Lascelles is 31 and recovering from an ACL. He wasn't the quickest to start with, he certainly won't be now. Burn isn't, for me, that far ahead of him and as others have said, Schar has dropped off. Botman - absolutely the standard and age bracket we need to build on, but struggles with injury. Only 6 sides have scored more goals than us this season, only 10 have conceded more. Defence is absolutely the priority.

Suggestion it's a suicide pact and that one of them had a terminal illness diagnosis.

Planning started in March 2017 so 8.5 years.

Playing the runaway leaders on their patch with 3 of our key spine of the team missing. On the face of it, it could have been a lot worse. And for all the TNT jizzfest over Salah, Hall had him in his back pocket all night long! His performance was massively overlooked by the pro-Liverpool commentary. Never expected us to get anything there - on the plus side Man City & Liverpool away are now behind us. Focus on the rest of the season.

Gene Hackman ... and his missus!

I think Hodges initially was flogged to Watford, who'd recently nabbed Dave Bassett as manager. He did go on to play for Sheff Utd though.

I noticed the club are selling some matchworn shirts on their site. You can get Isak's semi-final shirt for a cool £4k

These are doing the rounds. Not a fan.

Funnily enough when Carvalho scored about 5 mins beyond added time a couple of years ago, I don't recall our players or fans kicking off about it.

I can't discount the notion the VAR committee wasn't influencing a fuck of that magnitude happening to foster the idea of "you think VAR is bad, have you forgotten how bad without it is?!" Said to me that officials have become lazy in their decision making and reliant on the technology either supporting them, or correcting them.
-
There was a VAR check on the goal wasn't there? Must admit when I watched the highlights I have no idea why. Unless it was efforts to avoid Liverpool losing points.

It was reminiscent of the prolonged handshake between Conte & Tuchel a few years back. I suspect he's likely suggested partiality towards Everton, so rightly sent off. VVD can fuck off too. Whatever you think about Doucoure's decision to celebrate in front of the red dippers, if he's going to condemn his actions, he needs to do likewise with their own fans. I'm glad it happened - the Merseyside derby in recent years / decades has become a bit of a damp squib. Needed some fire. Well done Doucoure!

"Make some noise!!!" IIRC we used to come out to 'Simply The Best' before Local Hero became the norm.

Bottles being thrown. Stay classy, eh Bin Dippers?

They showed Jones getting a straight red at first. Think it’s been changed to a second yellow sadly
-
yep all three of them have had a red card

With Tindall leading the line and moving to the beat of Club Tropicana.

Walking down the touchline with his thumbs pointing back at it with massive emphasis, hopefully.

I read that sentence in a full-on 'Barry Taylor' brummy accent.

Just watch. They'll unearth some kid from the academy they'd overlooked in favour of big name signings and he'll turn out to be mercurial. They'll not win the league, but that's more akin to them being bottling fucktards than the 'plethora of injuries' that they'll no doubt charge as mitigation.
-
tbh Arsenal fans are probably relieved. They're not enamored by him.
-
They've brought it up as if it was done specifically to antagonise them. It was Boxing Day lads, Mad Dog was wearing the hoodie irrespective of whether you spat your dummy out in his direction. Not everything is about you, Villa...

Marvellous! His level of shithousery on 19th April is going to be off the scale. Can't wait!
