I agree Shearer is now uselss as well, but we're talking about Shola. There's a reason you can't justify him being on our books without changing the subject to other players. Maybe Shearer gets less shit because he was good in the past, and he's not going to be with us in the future. Shola wasn't and is. What would be the point in, for instance, saying "That Shearers shite, we should get rid at the end of the season"? Anyway, it's accepted by just about everyone that Shearer is past it, like you said, look at the other board. I don't see anyone defending Shearer as much as you're defending Shola.

I disagree that Shola is inconsistant. When was his last purple patch (And by "patch" I dont mean 1 game or 45 minutes)
-
Remember the "Well done Shola, you've proved all the doubters wrong!" threads after the Sunderland game?

Ahh, I meant toontastic, not n-o. And yes, I was in a "reet sarky ****" mood yesterday

But God, what about all these new jokes you've made, all the jokes that were first told within the last 20 years, I thought you said there was going to be balance? "Ah", replied god wisely, "Just wait till you see what maggiespaws is going to post on Newcastle-online".

Nintendo ruined Mario Kart when the brought it out on the N64. Rainbow Road on the SNES was the greatest level on any driving game ever, FACT 61299 The new one's got some choice levels from the SNES, GBA, N64 and Cube on it as well as the new ones.

He was a cracking player, but the fact he's suddenly turned into Jesus after his death is starting to grate to be honest. I'm sick of hearing people gushing about how the world will never be the same

If it turns out we've paid £17 million for the occasional loan of the lad when England haven't got a match coming up then we're fucked. We've put all out eggs in a fragile basket, and without Owen we're completely toothless upfront.

Mario Kart is fucking mint on it, even better than the SNES version and I never thought I'd say that. Was playing it 3 player in the pub the other night for a canny while, much to my girlfriends annoyance Only need one cart to play with up to 8 players an all. If people want to play stripped down versions of games they already have at home for the short length of time the PSPs battery lasts, it's up to them. But there's nothing on the PSP that really grabs me, and nothing that's particularly suited to handheld gaming IMHO. My wi-fi friend code: 219103 296560

Cisse - World class goal, world class celebration
BlueStar replied to Sicklee Sausage Roll's topic in Newcastle Forum
Reminded me of Ooh-ahh Franzie Carr's wonder goal. -
Noticed when watching match of the day that Earnshaw looks like weeman from jackass

Sod off, its more expensive! Also having cable means you don't need an unsightly dish like the rest of the plebs. Btw, I find tyne-side-jack's (since when was Tyneside hyphenated?) story a bit hard to believe. You need Telewest to connect you up for one thing. 57228 Aye, you get the basic package, swap the box they give you for the chipped one and bobs your uncle. So my unscruplious associates tell me.

If I ever form a band, it will now be called Room Temperature Banana.

Had a female comic come to comedy night at uni and was willing to give her a chance. Howver she was crap. And people were board and just chatting amongst themselves to which she went all serious and said "Can you stop that please, seriously, it's really annoying". Surely if you're going to have a go at hecklers (or people talking) you could at least be funny about it.

Absolutely no relevance. America has a constitution entitling it's populace to firearm ownership. Not so here. A better comparison would be europe where the police are armed and gun ownership is not as widespread.. Well there's just been one of the most senior police officers on the news saying exactly that, that we should look at America for evidence that arming police isn't the way forward. Didn't catch his name, but it's similar to what others have said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4451640.stm I'd have no problem with having more specially trained firearms officers. But I'd be more inclined to support the arming of rank and file police officers if there was more support from within the police force themselves for such a measure. Of course there are police officers who want to be armed, and there are prominent coppers and groups like Protect the Protectors lobbying for it. But such views certainly don't seem to be held very widely by the rank and file of the police force. Just anecdotally, one of my mates is a retired copper who was in the force for about 20 years and he said he wouldn't want to be armed. He's a big bloke though, maybe he'd think differently if he was a young lass. The only other copper I know probably would want to be armed, but he's an utter arsehole so I certainly wouldn't trust him with a gun.
-
I'd imagine the police woman was shot because she confronted fleeing armed robbers, not because she was black / white / asian, but anything's possible. I'd say the main worry about arming all / most coppers is that even the pettiest criminals would be tripping over each other in the rush to arm themselves to even the playing field. Cops in the US are armed (along with many potential victims), and gun crime hasn't exactly been eradicated. In a sort of related matter, I read some survey the other day claiming that 80% of gun crime is criminals shooting other criminals.

Isn't that the gay pride flag?

I remember one night when we were coming up with diferent races (Black-Asian = Blazian) we decided micheal jackson was a "Blanky" because he didn't even have enough colour to be white, he was just "blank" coloured.

Pissflaps. Result. Job's a good'un.

What exactly is it about the French riots that make them "racist" riots? If people break the law they should be punished. But I don't see why, if two people break the law and do the same thing, we should let one of them off and not punish them as severely because of their skin colour or place of birth - do you?
