  1. we all share genes with fop.
  2. I wonder how this will affect the future of the dozen or so "wonderkids" we have acquired?
  3. I wonder how much he will make in the summer transfer window?
  4. I remember when all this was fields, as far as the eye could see.
  5. my match report: We were cock and on this and most other displays I have seen pretty much deserve to go down. We improved slightly with Duke and Overbar-ry Martins. But Oba remains an enigma, he bounces about like tigger with many sublime touches and the instant he has a chance to shoot he does, which is a great quality, however he repeatedly lashes it into Van Allen's belt. But, we are essentially gash and I now think if we dont go down it will be a bloody miracle. Stewards were the biggest nazis I have encountered at a football game. I spent before and after the game in the Bell and Hare, spurs fans were good crack really and those who noticed I was not one of them were all decent to me. Some of their songs about Wenger were mildly amusing... "He shoots, he cums, all over Wenger's bum, Theo Walcott Theo Walcott." In summary though, we are royally fucked lads. See you at Crystal Palace.
  6. It's not really my choice, meeting up with my cousin (toon) and her fella and his mate (both spurs). I guess I should be discreet about my allegiances and stick to just the usual toon scarf, eyepatch and neck tattoo.
  7. I shall be going to the Queens near the ground, apparently season tickets not required to get in.
  8. in summary then I should just take fucking hip flask as usual.
  9. I've actually looked for good pubs in Liverpool St before and it is a woeful area for a good boozer. The Slug and Lettuce however is a meat market to envy Smithfield.
  10. Depends just how cliched you want to look I suppose I've overused the Bell Jar in recent years. Maybe that's what the underlying issue is? i'm looking for a good read actually, what is it about?
  11. I'm confused. you were stressing about losing your lass/family and now you are taking some blonde out in what seems like a romantic context? Am I missing something?
  12. cheers danny. Does anyone know decent pub at liverpool st for a few ales?
  13. Would that include re-runs of Shooting Stars with Vic & Bob? Can't see why not, crates of Stella, Mars Bars, Milky Ways etc No that's sounding shit actually. Probably just loads of ecstacy, bloody marys and shagging.
  14. Get as many of my friends as possible to my house for the mother of all meteorite parties!
  15. I get what your saying danny, these are all abstract and subjective concepts. Barnet will be special to some people, and Man Utd to others...maybe a few more. This in itself does not make them special to all. It boils down to 11 blokes on a pitch representing something, it's up to each of us to decide what they represent and what that means to us. For plastic fans of all clubs it may just be something to support so they can be involved in the most talked about entertainment in the land and bears no reflection at all on where they grew up or their family or their cultural heritage etc etc etc I know what NUFC represents to me. It is special yet retarded and tied up with my growing up in the North East (arguably also special and retarded, but there's another thread for that somewhere). The collective feelings of the fans build up into a nebulous mass of how the club is perceived by both those within it's grasp and outsiders. Some people can see both sides, others only one. Intelligence varies widely amongst all fans, we all have our nongs but unfortunately the media seems to love nothing more than a angry/excited toon nong. I don't think NUFC is more or less special than any other similar clubs, but I know what life is like up there, what the people are like up there and how their outlook, attitude, humour and sensibilities are special. It's not the club, it's the people. Perhaps this explains your presence here, maybe you like the people too?
  16. Cheers for the heads up Chez. I just ordered two tickets at the Barbican on 3rd August. I somehow missed the Cook link up stuff, will check it out. Nicely done Get there on time as it starts promptly at the advertised time. Our tickets said 8pm and they were playing (no warm up) by 8.15pm. You've got the playlists on his official site, includes Houses in Motion, Crosseyed and Painless, Take Me to the river, Once in a lifetime etc. The choreography is also one of the highlights, if you've seen Stop Making Sense, you might recognise a few themes. Only seen it about a hundred times, never in the cinema though...must resolve that. I saw him in City Hall in 2002, was a great concert. His banter with the audience was hilarious too.

  18. It all begs the question WHY does he keep getting games? I truly hope Carroll gets his chance now, I'd hate to start mistrusting Al as well over this feckless miscreant.
  19. Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton? Clearly the flock picking over a landfill site these days.
  20. that's just wishing. Have Happy Mondays done it yet? Heard talk of Stone Roses on the radio last week.
  21. IT FUCKING STINKS DOWN HERE. That is all.
  22. One city one club is significant and the feeling on match days is still special even though we are a fucking disgrace. Incidentally, I just got back into London after 5 days away and it FUCKING STINKS DOWN HERE. And I almost got into a fight for looking like I was about to jump a queue. Londoners are, more than anywhere else I have experienced, rude intolerant cunts. Sorry to drag things off track. Hope you all had a pleasant Easter.
