I fucking hate the place and never go back. Its enforced anonymity and engendered aggression alter your personality. It's psychologically corrosive, filthy and ridiculously expensive. People go there to get rich and feed their egos. I had a fantastic time though, in between. Piling from one party to the next indoors, outdoors, legal, illegal, extralegal. Quality drugs on the whole. I think everyone should go live in the capital city of their country for a few years, see what it's all about, but don't lose sight of what you're all about in the process. What Pardew has achieved is nothing short of remarkable and so with the England role still vacant it's not unfeasible that the FA might offer him the top job. And Pardew might find it very difficult to turn down. Anyone with common sense would say give him a few more years and perhaps prove he can win something, but the FA are a fickle enigma. Ashley, never one to miss an opportunity, would likely want to take their eyes out if he was to lose him. 4 years left on the contract, all the potential earnings from European football, what would compensate? £20m? £30m? more?
