After several false starts it looks like VR should be in our homes within the next year or so. I think this is the most exciting development in gaming since online multiplayer and possibly the most groundbreaking technology in gaming ever. Because a mate of mine is making it, I have had a go on this racing game and it was mind blowing. It's basically just a 3D Wipeout in VR, but the sensation of being immersed in another world was complete and looking about to see upcoming turns and boosts completely changes gaming. The surrealism of being in another world with such ease was reminiscent of a drug experience. Never mind Ketamine, get yourself in a VR-hole. I have had a go on a couple of the horror/creepy games and they are pretty good too. The Omni is a bit scary, but perhaps it will have health benefits. I think Oculus are going to struggle, they have been terrible at keeping people up to date, have now been bought out by the dreaded facebook and it is far more likely you are going to want to sit on your sofa (next to your console) to go VR than sit at your PC - so I am looking forward to see how Morpheus goes. Anyone else looking forward to Leisure Suit Larry VR then?
