  1. Why? Didn't look at him during the replays... did his feet, or one of his feet leave the ground as he threw it? at the time of the throw he has one foot planted and dragging the second... and then ends up planting both feet after crossing the line...
  2. and at the 88min the announcer says there should not be much extra time...
  3. 90+2min - COVENTRY GOAL (2-2) Unbelievable! City win a throw in high on the right with Gunnarsson jettisons into the penalty area, skipper SCOTT DANN is arriving at pace to head low into the bottom corner with Shay Given rooted to the spot.
  4. IMO he should of chested the ball down and then punted it instead of that overhead style of clearance...
  5. 45+1min - COVENTRY GOAL (1-2) The hosts are back in this as CLINTON MORRISON produces a finish of the highest order to curl above and beyond Shay Given from the edge of the area after United had failed to clear the danger from a swift City breakaway.

  7. 38min - NEWCASTLE GOAL (0-2) JAMES MILNER spins away from Ward with a razor-sharp turn midway inside the City half. The forward weighs up his options before delivering a cross-cum-shot from the right which catches out keeper Marshall with the ball bouncing beyond his dive and into the far corner.

  10. 21min - NEWCASTLE GOAL (0-1) Gutierrez and Milner exchange passes on the left with the Argentine freeing his team-mate, the young winger bursts into the penalty area before cutting sharply back for CHARLES N'ZOGBIA who stabs home from close range with two City defenders in close attendance.

  13. Shay Given believes that the sooner Michael Owen and Newcastle United can agree a new contract the better. The England striker is in the final year of his current agreement and, at a board meeting in London tomorrow, Kevin Keegan will urge the club's directors to make Owen an appealing offer to extend his current deal so he stays on Tyneside. Owen's £120,000 weekly wage represents a considerable stumbling block to protracted negotiations but replacing him would not be easy and the Newcastle and Republic of Ireland goalkeeper said: "In an ideal world we would all like Michael's contract sorted out sooner rather than later but it is his contract, it is nothing to do with me. It is between him and the club - but in an ideal world we would all like him to get it done." Owen's importance to Newcastle was emphasised on Saturday when, having recovered from his latest injury, the striker stepped off the bench to head the winning goal against Bolton Wanderers at St James' Park. Given is delighted to have the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker as captain. "Michael has got a presence about him," he said. "He is a world-renowned centre-forward and goal-scorer. When he leads us out it sends a message to other teams. It tells them that we have some real quality in our side. "He is not a ranter and a raver in the dressing room but he doesn't have to be. His presence is enough and the aura that he carries with him. "Michael has scored a lot of goals past me over the years so I know what it is like to play against him. If you are playing against Michael Owen you know you are playing one of the best in the world. "We have some other good players as well at Newcastle but seeing Michael on our teamsheet sends out a message. He is the most world-renowned player we have. He has the knack of being in the right place at the right time. He is special." Keegan can only trust that the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley takes heed of Given's message while Owen's representatives display a new-found willingness to compromise a little on the subject of a remuneration package their talented but injury-prone client would be highly unlikely to secure anywhere else.
