Does anyone actually care what KK thinks anymore ?? In other words he has an insight into the club that you could only dream of having and what he's commenting on goes totally against what you believe in. Yes people do listen because one thing you've always got from Kevin Keegan (and always will) is the truth. Wears his heart on his sleeve and says what he thinks - regardless of who it upsets. What's more, he's bang on the money about the Milner transfer too and you cannot possibly argue otherwise. What do I believe in ?? haven't listened and probably won't, is of no interest to me, won't help us win the next game and until the summer is no better or worse conjecture than anything anyone could post on here. Of course I remember, to some, he is an inviolate object of worship and only tells the truth all the time, but even taking that into account his opinion is only an opinion. Your lack or respect for him says everything there is to say about you. The greatest thing to happen to our club in two generations, and you're questioning the value of his opinions. You don't always have to look for an alternative view. The greatest thing to happen to the club in my lifetime (and I'm not 2 generations old) was winning the Fairs Cup in 1969, he had nowt to do with that. I would agree he gave me some of my best days as a Newcastle supporter, but that's in the past. He's just a pundit with an opinion now (however informed it may be) and does not mean he's right (or wrong) yet. I would also add he also gave me one of my worst days as a supporter in 1974. what a load of shite. Most of that Fairs Cup team - great lads to a man too - know that this club should have gone on to better things after that win, but were held back by the board at the time, just like now. I don't expect you to be able to look at the bigger picture anyway, most people attracted back to the club by the Halls and Shepherd can't, all they see is hatred at not winning the league as they hoped. Tragic. This club, the status it has now which is the reason Ashley has bought it, owes everything to Keegan. Everything, he saved the club from your dreaded administration, the 3rd division, oblivion. If not for him, assisted by those who took over the club, we would have been in the doldrums for years like Sheff Wed, Wolves and others have been. Utter shite, we WON a meaningfull trophy, it's not been better than that since. Second bit, if you keep saying it I suppose it must be true. So fucking what "it's down to Keegan", it's in the past, will that help on Saturday against Everton

Does anyone actually care what KK thinks anymore ?? you should, because he's telling you it like it is and he should know. This is the bloke who attracted you back to the club, remember Aye, whatever well, if your information about the football club comes from skunkers, it says everything. It doesn't. I was watching games long before the internet was even a byte. BTW did you ever read that link I posted, which actually was sent to me by a mag who doesn't frequent message boards.

Tantamount to sticking your fingers in your ears tbh. I only argue with Leazes (well I used to) because of his delusions.

Blinded by hate tbh Sad really, missing out on the enjoyment of our best seasons for years by focusing on all the bad things that "might" happen sometime in the future. It used to be about enjoying the game on Saturday (or Sunday or Monday night) not about "well that was fucking excellent but we cannot conceivably allow ourselves to savour that because we're fucked/doomed at some indeterminate point of time in the future, possibly, mebe's, definitely IMO, but it will happen OH WOE IS ME". Fuckin hell !!!! the irony He's got you there like, TP. Erm..... no he didn't

Fuckin hell !!!! the irony He's got you there like, TP. Don't see how tbh, Ashley is a cunt but we're stuck with him (regretably but I am resigned to that) but we ARE having our best season for yonks. FFS was a cunt and we did have some amazing seasons under FFS et al, BUT they were long ago with no sign of them coming back despite what some would say. Talking about the past is a LOT different to hanging your hat on some future maybe won't even happen scenario. IMO of course. I'd love someone to buy Ashley out tomorrow, same as I wanted rid of FFS, not for what FFS "might" do but for what he was doing at that time and the shite on the pitch which wasn't enjoyable on a Saturday (Sunday or Monday night). As we stand now Ashley's NUFC > FFS's latter years in charge and that is currently a FACT. As is the amount of cash that they have respectively put in/taken out. I refuse to worry about what "might" happen, quite enjoying the ride just now, maybe hit the buffers, maybe won't, happy to wait and see. Because your whole critique of the previous regime is based on the financial side. That's fine in itself but you can't then argue football used to be all about just enjoying a Saturday (and by extension criticise those who don't have that view nowadays). I assume that's waht he was getting at anyway. Today it is. At the time my venom/criticism was WAY more around the shite served up across the white lines and the endless parade of shite managerial appointments. It was looking iredeemable on the pitch "at the time" and being able to look back now and see the financial situation that emerged (coupled with the credit crunch/banks malarkey) it was patently in a critical condition on the finance side. Hindsight's a wonderfull thing, it just made me realise how shite FFS was at the end. Maybe hindisght will prove Ashley to be worse, I'll wait until I know that as a fact, before passing judgement. I certainly won't let some potential apocalypse stop me enjoying the current season/games as they go on. Fuck hindsight. Freddy was infinitely better than Ashley and always will be. Back when we had Shepherd, 9th would have been a mediocre-bad season. Yes, this current season has been enjoyable but have you looked into the root cause? Ashley has deflated your expectations to make this season enjoyable. exactly. When will people realise this or forever be blinded by hatred. Don't agree with Flid man You're fucking killing me And Flid, while were on, since SBr was canned, we'd had a 5 season run of mediocre-bad seasons at worse than ninth (except one), in case you'd forgotten. The trend was set if you're looking for the root cause.

Turning the club into a laughing stock, the bastard. Assaulting its funds, the bastard. Seeing it as a product to make money out of, the bastard. Evening Flid Laughing stock - He's not alone, been there, seen it, done it, Mary Poppins and Women are Dogs'd it via a fake shiek'ed it. Assulting the funds - please show where and when, it's the other way round so far. Product to make money - as does almost every owner/chairman on the planet, to be fair Ashley is really making a fucking terrible job of this one so far. -

From Sky But pisses millions away at Aspers. How nice it is of Mr. Ashley to gamble on the clubs future ability to compete at the highest level. Must have crystal balls!! Sums the fat cunt up tbh Fact remains those gambling "millions" are a mere fraction of the tens of millions he's pissed away into NUFC, which I maintain, he'll wait a fucking long time to get back and even longer to approach the dosh certain predecessors took out. what was it you said again in the other thread about being blinded by hatred and enjoy the good times while you can That is irrelevant, no hatred blinding me at all, just stating a fact or two. Again you miss the point, the FACTS about the latter years of FFS's captaincy of the ship are laid bare, the facts about Ashley's tenure are yet to be laid bare. Comparing chalk and cheese. Currently Ashley's NUFC is doing better than it has for years, like his methods or not (I don't as it happens) but I am enjoying it at the minute. sigh. The last season Brian Clough managed Notts Forest they went down, that doesn't make him a shit manager nor negate the achievements he made in his other years. The FACT is that the Halls and Shepherd [not Shepherd which has been explained to you numerous times] SAVED the club from administration, and they DID NOT put the club into adminstration and left it light years superior in every way to how they found it, while in the process giving you by a million miles the best 15 years you have experienced and may not be eclipsed in your lifetime. What a shame you spent all that time worrying about impending administration, hating the trophy players, harping on about warehouses, dividends and how embarrassing it all was, while the 30,000 supporters they attracted back to the club enjoyed it until they booed them for only finishing 5th in the premiership. Don't put words into my mouth, or keyboard for that matter. Why don't you read what I worte - I was dissatisfied with the team/manager etc "at the time", The finacnes bit came later, when it was there to be seen with the benefit of that thing called hindsight. BTW At the end Cloughie had lost the plot, it was time he rode off into the sunset, no-one is infallible forever and that indeed made him a shit manager at the end. Taking your logic that once good always good, I suppose Ian Botham should still be playing for England. It's all about "what have you done for me lately" that's the nature of the game (any game for that matter). As a final point they left it all but teetering on the brink of how they found it tbh. If not worse, there was a multi million £££ or thereabouts hole. That is also a fact. Sure they created the goose that laid the golden eggs, but they kept spending and creaming the pot when the goose was barren. -

Not quite such a big lump if he'd extended his rudimentary maths to deduct the £30K a week Carroll was due to be paid in a similar timeframe.

Indeed we will. Sign them up to long term contracts and then you can demand a bigger transfer fee. Which narrows down the number of potential suitors to those you can do fuck all about anyway and even then it's gonna cost them and maybe make them think twice. So you don't deny that's FMA's intentions then? Seriously man you need to give your head a shake. Those that are likely to come in for him are the clubs occupying the top 6 places. And not one of them will think twice about financial outlay if they feel he'll vastly improve their squad. I can honestly see Man Utd interested in him given the state of their central midfield. It's not about intention to sell, in fact it's the opposite, if it was about a fast buck, they'd have let his contract stay where it was, now it means it's got to be a silly offer or he stays. He's FAR more likely to stay now than he was yesterday. It's not about the FCB. It's a fact of life that IF one of the "big" boys further up the tree than you, comes after your player you are fucked no matter who you are. The ONLY thing you can do is try and make it hurt or at least make your compensation worthwhile. We are not a Champions League team we CANNOT stop players heads being turned by the rich bastards. It's reality, nowt to do with Ashley or anyone else. It's the way the game is and THAT is where the fundamental flaw lies. Sadly if Man U are interested in any player at just about any club, they're gone. Let's see what happens at Spurs if the rumours of Man U's interest in Modric are true, especially if Spurs don't requalify for the money machine. Why can't people see this ?????
-
Only if the fee's exhorbitant and a top of the tree team has a need in that position. Seriously, what part of the way the modern pecking order works, don't you get ????

I really REALLY just don't get this mindset My first thought was exactly the same as Isegrim -I wish I had your ability to see the best in Ashley Remind me how long ago Carroll signed his new contract again It's not about seeing good in Ashley at all. Firstly - Carroll signed a new deal in October and then 3 months later wanted a new one or he was offski. What's not to like about this deal, really??? IF a champions league level teams comes in for a player you're basically fucked anyway, that's a fact of life in the modern game. What this deal means is that IF someone is/was considering making an offer they'd better have VERY deep pockets because he's going to cost a shedload of cash. It's a reasonable deterent unless silly money's on the table. Silly money as in £35 mill for Carroll. To me it says we don't want to sell, unless you knock our socks off, which is how it should be. Would it have been better to leave it be ??
