We need players of Emre’s quality in the squad. Whether or not he'll be starting most games remains to be seen, but he certainly offers quality in attack and his work-rate is something valued too. Zoggy can not play in central midfield. He looks lost when we play him there which is pointless when he can offer what he does on the left-wing. All though I'm delighted we've signed Duff I am surprised too with the pace we already have there in Zoggy and possibly O'Brien, but he's very versatile and like Emre a quality player to have in your squad which is what we need more than anything this season.

Lard Lad rules out panic buy
Geordie Boyo replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
The sooner the better really as you want to have them mixing with the players in training so they know one-another’s game before the season kicks off. Easier said than done when you’re probably talking about maybe four more new faces before the deadline, but I do stand by what I said in terms of Roader sticking by the likes of Luque & Milner where as a club we're very much capable of bringing in better replacements for the two. He might just be playing it safe, but he sounds very final on sticking with those two when as I said we could possibly swap or sell them on to bring better players into the squad. Ideally we need at least one new striker. If we can get two that would be great, but I think realistically if it were Kuyt I doubt we'd be able to afford someone else of his caliber when we need other players of his quality in the squad at left-back, centre-half and possibly on the right-wing. Hopefully we’ll find out tomorrow who those two players are. -
Happy birthday Jimbob

Roeder: New transfers 'close'- Guardian
Geordie Boyo replied to Pegasus Bridge's topic in Newcastle Forum
He can get in the right place at the right time with great timing to get on the end of through balls and score. He can take his man on in the box and pretty much smash it in anywhere around & outside the box too. He also seems very cool & composed on the ball while under pressure and can head a ball. Overall he would be a great signing if it were him. -

Seriously...you need to call that by it's real name: knock down Ginger 170897[/snapback] Sheeeesh! Gemmill posts on here man!

Sheesh! If your wheelie bin's been kicked over or if it's hedge hopping then that’s fair enough, but knocky knocky nine doors is something I've grown out of thank you very much!

Was it ever a criminal offence to play knocky knocky nine doors?

Shit, it was me who actually started that thread...! http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/....html#msg174530 EDIT: Mind this was back in 'November 23, 2005' so I think I can be forgiven...!

Christ! Iremember a few months ago saying something like that in a thread in general chat about the board. I didn't use those terms, I just said that maybe you could have two separate boards, one being for newly registered members who then if seem sensible enough gain access to the Newcastle forum which they could just previously browse. I was ignored, surprise, surprise...! So instead the admin chose to take a few more mods on instead, but it just seems laughable that they can't handle a few duplicate threads and a WUM from time to time to resort to doing this. Anyways....
-
It's not as if you get hundreds of duplicate threads on there or an over baring amount of WUM's. You just simply get youngens who have found the site posting, but not knowing the crack. The idea to have a thread go through a mod before it's posted is shit as it delays news and will only create more arguments with possibly 'good' posters leaving as the board becomes more judgmental. I think mods are getting too lazy to do there job basically. That shouldn't be the case with all the mods they have.
