Seems to me Allardyce has been pinning his hopes on signing Ben Haim with no real indication of going for any other defensive players. He said that he'd inquired about Rozehnal, but no bid or further contact with the player had been made.

Well that's not saying much that he's better than what we've had We're in a position to get better players than Brown. I'm not pinning my hopes on 'world class' players, but players that are 'proven' and will really contribute to our squad.

There's no chance of him coming here. The 1st thing BS did was put get rid of Titus to show people players like him were not needed at Newcastle, so why would he want to sign another plank? We can get better and we will.

Nobby contributed greatly to our back-four last season and like Nicky Butt was one of our best players. Countless times he was there to clear the ball off the line when those other planks weren't. He's very composed, reliable and not afraid to challenge for the ball. Kieron 'teapot' Dyer on the other hand can do a lot of running, and err.......sprinting, maybe a bit of jogging while bling blinging....! If Dyer is to be used anywhere I'd play him up front. *tin hat on, and runs!*
