  1. Who would people's choice be if we could pick from Baines, Shorey or Bridge? Probably Bridge for me because of the experience he has at the top level.
  2. I doubt we can afford to take any risk in letting any more experienced defenders go (despite how SHIT they are) right at this moment in time, until at least a couple of new defenders are brought in. We don't know when Ashley will be giving BS a transfer budget for new players yet, so he's just got to play it safe.
  3. I thought it was, Du DU du DU du, du DU du DU du, du du du Du du, du du du DU du.....nah sounds more like Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People....! Somebody should do a cross-over mix!
  4. Carroll's a different player and a different stature to Chopra. He offers something different and potentially, IMO, looks a better prospect. My brother's pal is a physio for the academy and that's what I've been told. Tbf, from what I've seen he has every chance of fulfilling his potential. He's got a physical presence, aye. All I'm saying is it's far too early to judge him. I agree. I'm not saying he's gonna be the next Pele, I'm just saying potentially from what I've seen and heard he looks like he could make an impact and hopefully show a bit of that this season. As far as Smith goes I just don't rate him. He's always looked a composed player and has always got stuck in, but he's never quite cut it for me, like. And Shola has? Aye, but shola's playing for us, Alex. So why bring in another player who hasn't quite cut it? Even if Shola leaves I'd still like to see a better player replace him, IMO. Smith is much better than Shola man. Getting someone like Smith in as 4th choice striker is a good move for the club and Carroll will probably go on loan next season anyway. Obviously if Martins, for example, were to leave, things would change but I'd then expect Allardyce to go for someone like Anelka. Hmmmm, not really 'debate of the year' to get into, so think I'll say no more there. He could go out on loan, and that would be a good move, but for 4th choice I'd prefer to see one of the acedmy lads, imo. I guess the bottom line is I just don't rate the lad, smithy that is. If you want to compete 4th choice striker isn't the role for some unproven academy kid imo. Fair enough re: your views on Smith though and he has gone backwards since moving to Man Utd. I guess injuries will always occur, hopefully not like last season, but it's a shame that we use the yougens only when we're to the bare bone rather then give them more of a chance to get more experience at this level.

  11. Carroll for England... He'll do a better job than Smithy...! He was absolutely dreadful in the last game he played for England. If he were a jock I've no doubt he'd be playing a hell of a lot more for the national team, but not because he's a good player. As for Carroll, I know he's highly rated by the academy staff and rated as a great prospect. He can head the ball as good as anyone and make his presence known on the pitch. I think he could certainly play a bigger part in our 1st team this season.
  12. I don't think he could offer more than what Shola can offer, or even Carroll for that matter. Then we've got Viduka, Owen & Martins. I don't see any point in buying him, IMO, especailly as we could do with using the money for new defenders.
  13. BS said he wanted a left-back, possibly a new right-back and two new central defenders....I highly doubt and I highly HOPE! that Carr or Babayaro won’t be wearing our colours ever again.
  14. He's just simply expressing his views as a spectator & supporter of the club. He doesn't have any say towards transfers.
  15. I used to get a number 1 back & sides when I was a youngen. *look away now jimbo* When I turned 22 in 2002 I got it all shaved off and had carried on doing so until last year. I did attend the Hair Cattery a couple of times after being convinced to go by a female friend of mine, but now I just use a hair clipper and shorten it down when it gets a bit long.
  16. That Ziggy bloke & Carole seem to be the only two half decent people in the house. Everyone else does my head in. The four new people are a bunch of wankers, especially that cock head from Durham. You can barely watch two minutes of it without the C to the H to the A to the R to the L to the E to the Y from the block doing everyones head in. She's the most annoying lass I've ever seen in the Big Brother house.

  18. Nice one. It's good to see a manager actually attempt to sign a player rather than draw up a list and send Geordie boy Lee Clark out to watch him for six games before contemplating on whether or not to ask the club if that player might be available to buy. Sounds like the deal could be done & dusted, certainly by the end of this week. I've never seen anything of Rozehnal, but to be named in last season's Ligue 1 Team of the Season & to be the club's player of the year he must offer something.
  19. If he goes we could try to lure Hugo Viana back to play there instead as he can also play on the left-wing too.
