  1. Well finally a rumour one can get behind. 30M fee would mean a nice little 100M+ injection into the transfer kitty. Al Shabab is not one of the PIF owned clubs so less scrutiny on the price too. Maybe we can squeeze out another 5-10M in added fees? Ship Wilson off for 20M off and that's a great window before we've managed to get anyone in
  2. I don't know about that. I know Krafth and Dummett did well in the one or two games they've had to play this season but do you think we can compete on 4 fronts (assuming we sneak into Europe) and hope to get back into the CL when we're one injury away from having to play Dummett for an extended period of time. I think there's a few levels between Botman/Schar and Dummet/Krafth (even Burn) and Lascelles is in them. I think you need at least one good quality CB for rotation, someone who can reliably feature in 10-15 games depending on injuries. Yeah a promising academy graduate would be nice but we don't seem to be anywhere near that at the moment. So you're still looking at spending maybe 10-20M on an up and coming CB from Europe, for instance. Unless Howe has the kind of confidence in Dummett and Krafth that you do.
  3. Well this has certainly set off the Pharoahmoans hasnt it
  4. To be fair it can be difficult to wrap your head around
  5. Burn's had some poor games at LB too this season mind. Lascelles came in and, against expectations including mine, did a job against CL and top Premier league opposition. Don't think we can expect that from Burn.
  6. All depends on if they're offering a reasonable amount for him, and no I don't know what that would be. He's done a good job covering the first team this season, any decent replacements would cost a lot more money. We need to focus on DM, RW and a forward for now not freaking Lascelles' replacement. I think he's a much better 3rd choice option than Burn. I'd be snapping their hands off if we had any sort of FFP wriggle room mind.
  7. Class work this. Many are rightly worried about Bruno getting injured or suspended but I'm equally concerned about Gordon and Isak. Gordon has racked up some right miles there and he's been instrumental in almost everything good we've done going forward.
  8. Its the off field VAR. Absolute shambles but great for the established big boys.
  9. Hope you're right. Fair point that they have Chelsea but we'll probably be more tired with a much thinner squad and also playing away from home. Anyway, we'll sort it out. February will be a lot better and it's onwards and upwards from there. The shit injury luck has to end some time.
  10. As heart wrenching as that was it was overall better than any of us expected. It's just one of those seasons, almost everything that can go wrong is doing so. We will be back. I think we'll get twatted at Villa though, especially since it's a few days after Fulham and we likely won't have anyone back. The league form will look even bleaker and the knobs in the media plus the twat section of our support are already smelling blood. I know it's just a few attention seeking arseholes but the people questioning Eddie have really already forgotten what we were like before him?
  11. Just looking at the list of absentees you can't help but wonder what this season could have been if we'd had a bit better luck.
  12. We're going to miss Joe big time tonight. Miley and Longstaff in the middle just hasn't worked. Not that there is much choice.
  13. It's not just that they're injured but apparently most of them without clear return dates, or ones that keep pushing out. Wasn't Barnes supposed to be back start of December at one point and now he's still got a long way to go?
  14. Not aware of the Spurs case but FFP prescribes the maximum losses a club can make. Owner equity doesn't help with that as it's a cash injection and not income in accounting terms. So basically the more revenue/income you generate, the more you can spend before a loss in incurred. Which is why it clearly serves to close shop for the 'big' clubs that already have huge income streams. How much cash PIF can invest is meaningless right now. Also why not having many players we can realistically sell is a problem as player sales are also income. I think.
  15. Yeah this is obviously a problem. But then I suppose if a player is not regular starting eleven there is a reason for it, whether that's fitness, form or quality. It's still possible they could have value for another team. I'd ideally keep Miggy and Wilson as squad players, but we may not have that luxury unless the plan really is to ship Bruno off. Not beyond the realms of possibility that a mid table premier league club would take a punt on Wilson for 25-30M? He has an injury record aye but he's also a proven goal scorer in this league and they're not easily found these days. Miggy should also be attractive to mid table clubs in that price range. Whether we're able to find the right deal is another question.
  16. Aye he's on a great run of form but he's been a hot and cold player for a few years now. We'd definitely be overpaying if we tried to get him when he's on a hot streak. Don't see the club doing it.
  17. I'd be livid if we sold Willock before Almiron. Fish has a good point about how heavily loaded we are on the left though. And none of the them seem to be as useful on the right wing. Gordon given time perhaps?
