So answer me this - why were we much better without Parker in the team? The fact that his disappearance more or less coincided with Souness going might have something to do with it , but seriously, I don't know why people rave about him. As usual I will be proved right with time..... 141135 What a silly argument. Like someone said, that makes chopra and ameobi better than shearer and owen Cant believe how daft somepeople can be. You might as well have said that ronaldinho sucks since chelsea won the title without signing him or the beegees were rubbish because they couldn't sell more albums than the beetles. Thats the kind of argument you are giving. No personal offence mate, but that post just drove me up the wall.

oops meant yellow card

What the Hell are Arsenal and the English media in general complaining about?? The ref got it spot on with the Lehman decision, he did what the law asks you to do. The free-kick which led to campell's goal was a blatant dive from Eboue. Plus, Eboue could have been easily sent-off for that studs up challanege on Edmilson I think it was. Yes, he got the henry red card wrong and did look nervy in general but it imo it affectec barcelona more than it did Arsenal. Arsenal have always been whingers. They cant accpet the fact the lehman completely messed up, henry missed two one-on-ones with the keeper and in general they were outclassed by a superior team. Im disappointed with wenger and henry for their comments after the game. Plus might I say how embarrasing andy gray and martin tyler were during the match?? The way they were whinging especiallyMr. Gray. I would be quite embarrased if I was english, the whole world was watching for heavens sake and the commentators were acting like kids. I said before the match on another thread that the english would come up with an excuse, and they havent disappointed. It was expected and people are sick of it believe me. Learn to lose for heaven sake!!! God knows what will happen if England come home early from the world cup, hitler's soul will probably be blamed. Ive always been a fan of the premier league and always will be. Ive taken part in countless discussions to try and convince somone that the epl is the most exciting league. A lot of what happened yesterday was built around 'spain v england' and 'la liga v the premiership'. But the english fan's constant whinging and their dellusion as to the fact that their league is the 'best' had me praying for a barca win. I have to say im delighted that the la liga has sent a boot up the premierships arse twice now, first through sevilla and now barcelona. It just goes to show you that the la liga is far far superior in terms of technical ability. Sevilla completely destryoed boro, and Barcelona dominated chelsea and arsenal this season. P.S this is not a dig at the fans here, ive let out the frustration here that was built up when reading artciles and threads on other general forums and on the media. I think i'll paste and copy it there

Agree with Sima. While there is good reason to be afraid of Barca, I think Arsenal do have a chance tomorrow. After all, who can predict anything after last year's final?? Dont skin me for this please, but ive noticed on many forums and in the international media itselfthat the English seem to terrified of barcelona and in general the flair and style of the spanish league in general. Everytime an occasion such as this comes up they always manage to bring about some controversy out that undermines the whole game and gives them ready made excuse for a defeat. Personally I think the english league is the best in terms of competitivness but there's no arguing that it isnt anywhere near as good as the spanish when it comes to attacking play and flair. The sooner you accept that the better. Your league is great in its own way.... Saying that Arsenal are the one team in England who can play as good football as any european side and they have a chance in the final. But I'll be supporting barca

I dont think 4.5M is very cheap for him, I would say 5M would be just about right. It will be nice to see us not paying completely over the top for a player for once, but if we do go for him I fully expect us to splash out 8 or 9M which will be way over the top.

Gerrard - 2nd only to Ronaldinho What would liverpool be without him. Everytime they mess things up and then rely on him to get them back, and he does so everytime in spectacular fashion. Its ridiculous really.....
-
thanks for that lads
-
Fantastic news, things just keep on getting better and better. Now all we need is to be linked with Van Nistelrooy
-
Damn it what happened to the van nistelrooy's , the torres's, the ronaldo's Realistically though, I would be happy with Bent/Defoe/Mido Martins is a great player who has been linked away form inter this season, but I suppose he would be too expensive and other clubs will be chasing him
-
I really dont rate peter crouch, he's a poor poor player. But i would take peter crouch with a broken leg to germany rather than emile heskey.
-
Ameobi is the man in form you know I like the idea of gerrard playing behind owen, but if you have to take 4 strikers it should be in my opinion owen bent defoe crouch - 4th choice
-
A rather short compilation on our player of the season, the reason being the unavailibility of clips. Anyway I hope its worth the download If these links expire or dont work please inform me so I can post new ones. YouSendIt FileFront

NO Wont be happy by any means. I suppose it wouldnt be the worst thing thats ever happened to us but im still looking at something better than Roeder. Remember Souness started off very well too but then it suddenly all went wrong. Im not saying the same will happen to Glenn, but there is no reason why it couldnt; he doesn't have a very impressive record, been relegated and all
-
Not really, no. I'm pleased he scored yesterday and I hope it makes a difference to his career here, but I'm not buying any of that stuff in the interview tbh. Actions required, not words. 122766 very true, couldnt agree more. But he hasnt had too many chances to win us over with actions now has he, im just hoping he can get a good run now and be an asset next season
-
knows how to win over the fans doesnt he? im extremely happy that he got the goal, he's a good lad and a quality player who's been very unlucky this season. Showed his quality in the goal, an henry-like finish
-
Dont have to say anything about Given. Player of the season. Bramble, Boumsong are just not good enough. I'd give boumsong maybe one more year if we havent got the money to buy a better defender. Elliot and moore may be experienced and dedicated, but they are poor footballers and just not good enough for us if we are to chase a european spot. I now have my doubts about ramage. He was rubbish when he broke into the team, then put in few solid performances. He seems to have completely fallen apart now. Had a horrible game again today. Another one who just wont be good enough imo. Carr and babayaro are usually solid. But then again as you'd expect from a newcastle defender they look nervous at times. Carr had a few nervy moments today. They will do okay I think. Besides, we wont have money to replace them in the summer even if we wanted to. A striker and a couple of CBs are much more needed. Solano is a quality player who should be at his prime these days. Should be our RW for the next two years at least imo. Emre and parker have impressed since joining esp. parker. Emre is different class when he's going and he's becoming used to playing in england. I thought he did very well today. A couple of marauding runs and some fantastic through passes and long balls, worthy of gerrard or lampard. Parker has been mr. reliable this season. Scored one of the top 5 goals of the season as well today. N'Zogbia and taylor are our brightest prospects, cant wait to how much better they get next season. Luque has been very unlucky, a bad injury followed by a lack of confidence shown in him by the club. The lads a quality player, if we just give him a good run in the team he'll show his true clours imo. I'll be gutted if he left. Bowyer, Faye and Ameobi are just not good enough, they need to go. Dyer and Owen have looked brilliant when they've played. But our wonderful luck ensured they miss half the season. Shearer is leaving.... (hope i havent missed anybody)
-
Bowyer has been nothing but a liability from day one. Ive said that many times before. I dont really blame him for today's own goal but he's hardly done anything useful in his time here at Newcastle. I hope he leaves in the summer.
-
This summer is only chance we have of getting some decent money for Boumsong.....if he has a good world cup. If not....we are screwed. 109840 im supporting france then
-
I would give boumsong a few months of next season to prove himself, because I think he was great in his first six months here and because the whole team in general, apart from given, has had a woeful season. But we definitely have to get a quality centreback this summer, in fact I say buy the defender first and then look for shearer's replacement. Owen can do well enough on his own with shola but I shudder to think of another season with bramble and bousmong in the first team.
-
Its a matter of opinion, which is why I said Shearer is "perhaps" our greatest ever player. Beardsley would come very close though
-
what about that little bastid del horno?? a blatant dive when parker attempted to tackle him Im really beginning to hate chelsea, its not the first time they've done this either. No wonder mourinho didnt speak to the media after the game, what a coward
-
Im gutted. Never really expected to win against chelski but deep down one always hopes for a miracle doesnt he?? I dont think the true implications of last night's defeat have sunk in yet, an era has virtually come to an end at Newcastle. The Shearer era is over, perhaps the greatest player in our history is going to leave us with no silverware. That goes some way in showing how we've underachieved over the last few years. People can say what they like about shearer, and how he is past it and has become a liability. No doubt he's not what he used to be, but the sad fact is that we've had one of the greatest strikers of all time play in his prime for us and we've failed to take advantage. What will it take for us to start fulfilling our potential?? There is nothing more I would have liked to see than shearer lift a trophy this season. The great man has come and gone. Watching the game I realised how much work we still have to put in if we are to win a trophy next year or even in the next three years. There little doubt that a trophy's the only thing thats going to get the club going finally. But how far are we from one?? Miles far I think, we dont have the quality or the required set-up yet. This summmer is going to be one of the most crucial ones in our history, it will decide whether we make the jump up to the elite of english football, or get stuck in the misery of mid table mediocrity for the considerable future. We have the basis for a great team, and yet a few hasty decisions could see us fall apart completely. Boy is the next manager going to play an important role in our long term future. So pray lads, and hope that for once Fat Fred gets us the right man.
-
Im not too disappointed with today's performance. I thought most players did ok. Parker was poor though, and ramage and solano were absolutely awful. But lets be fair, man utd were absolutely magnificient today. They would have beaten every single team in the league today, and we should be glad we only lost 2-0 it could have easily been 6 or 7
-
mate, he hasn't been a tenth of what he was at newcastle for blackburn
-
So typical of people getting carried away with a successful season. What makes them think they have made it to the top after just one relatively successfu; season?? Balckburn should know better than anyone, with their title win and the constant struggle to stay in the league from then on. And look at everton, the way their fans were shouting about last season. Serves them right. I cant help but think teams like blackburn, wigan and west ham will struggle in the future no matter how successful a season they have. And bellamy is an ass for saying things like that, lets see how blackburn and newcastle compare over the next few seasons. And lets see how many games bellamy plays in that time. He's talking as if he's been their major player this season. He's been rubbish(when fit) apart from saturday.
